Chapter 27
"Kill the witch!" A man with jet black hair exclaimed and they charged towards her.
Maris turned to run away, but there wasn't any luck on her side as she tripped on a stone and fell on her stomach, bruising her cheek. She laid on her butt and supported herself up with both her palms, flatly placed to the ground.
"No, I'm not a witch." She cried, eyes darting from one person to the other. She didn't know what to do. All that was spinning in her head was that she would die.
Her heart pounded and her mouth went dry as she tried to crawl backwards on her butt away from them.
"Please, I'm not here to harm you." Her voice seized and was now cracky.
"Tell that to the devil in hell," said the woman that had shape shifted earlier through gritted teeth.
"Logan!" Maris screamed, covering her face with her arms.
The shape shifter raised a spear in attempt to push it through her chest, but something happened.
A hairy big wolf whose hair was white mixed with black jumped in front of Maris and roared at the people inching close to Maris. Quickly, they bowed, with their weapons in their hands.
"We greet you, alpha." They chorused, their heads kissing the floor before getting on their feet with scowls on their faces.
He growled even louder, saliva dripping from the sides of his mouth as he glared viciously at the people threatening to kill an innocent soul.
Maris took a peek from the covers of her eyes, her chest heaving with a heart that was about to combust.
He then changed with a small piece of clothing around his waist to cover his butt. Logan too was breathing heavily as he threw stare daggers at them.
"Let us kill her, our prince. She's the reason our king died. She should produce his dead body and pay for her sins!" A man in the crowd yelled and they all agreed with him, erupting in whispers as they shared an agreeing gaze.
"Yes, you know the heart break sirens brought to our kingdom." The shape shifter slurred, eyeing him in a seducing manner. She made her way to him, walking like a cat who knew she was drop dead gorgeous.
"That doesn't give any of you the right to take her life." Logan's deep voice sent chills down Maris' spine.
Was it okay that she was in danger and still got randy from just hearing his voice?
She shook her head, dispelling all unholy thoughts and tried to focus on the matter that was in front of her.
Thinking about getting laid even when you're in danger, huh?
Maris heard Logan's voice loud and clear in her head and she scrunched up her face.
Get out of my head and save me!
Her subconscious yelled and Logan spared her a gaze, one that said he was angry with her.
"Logan?" The shape shifter placed a hand on his arm, lightly squeezing his muscle in a teasing manner. "She has to die."
"No one," he started, gripping her hand off his shoulder and squeezing it tight so it'd hurt. "–is going to hurt my consort!"
He flung her hand and a mocking grin tugged the sides of her lips. She cradled her stomach and held his gaze before throwing her head backwards to laugh.
She sounds like the real witch, I suggest beheading for her case.
Maris thought, throwing a burning gaze her way as the witch proceeded to rub Logan's naked chest.
"You of all people know this," she said, trailing a finger down his chest with a flirting gaze. "You know your mother wouldn't let you end up with her."
"Nonsense!" Logan fumed, letting the she devil get into his head. "No one is going to dictate for me. I'm a man of my own, a grown man!"
Logan beat his chest with his palm and flicked her hands off him.
"You know she wants me to get married to you right?" Witch asked with a wicked smile that never faltered.
"Then you'd die waiting and burn in hell after your death! I for one, would never ever marry a bitch like you." He seethed and she laughed, adding more fuel to the bush that was ablaze in Logan's head. "Jane, I'd like if you take your men with you and get the hell out of this place at once!"
"You'd hear from your mother, I promise." Hurt flashed in her eyes as she pointed a long finger at him. "And you'll be mine. I must tell her you're keeping an imposter in the kingdom and even protecting her. I'll tell her everything, just you wait!"
Her body vibrated as she spun with glassy eyes and ordered her men to stand down. They all walked away, leaving Logan and Maris alone.
Logan turned to his consort and offered a helping hand, which she took. He pulled her up and cleaned her dirty hands before going behind to clean her butt.
She was scared and still shaking. Her legs quavered and a tear rolled down her cheek. All she wanted was to crawl into a hole and stay for days then possibly die of intense hunger.
"What happened?" He questioned, looking like he was forcing himself not to blow up.
"I-I-" she stammered, lips wobbly with forceful swallowing of saliva to ease her dry throat. "I-I don't-don't know, but she looked like a little child who was lost and-"
She halted to catch her breath. Feeling a little dizzy, she was dehydrated and needed water.
"Hop on." He ordered, turning his back to her and she jumped on him.
She felt him under her and it made her stomach feel sick in a good way as her boobs pressed on his back. He was a bit sweaty and she thought it was going to be hot, but it wasn't. It was rather a bit irritating that she was on his slippery body.
As if the moon goddess heard her, she sent a cool breeze their way that made her hair fly in every direction, drying off the sweat and making her smile.
"Where are we going?" She asked when he took another route, but he ignored her with a clenched jaw and that was when she sensed he was mad at her, but what was her offense? "Logan?"
No reply and it made her tensed. What if he was going to turn her in to the devil or his mother?
Where is he going with me? You can't trust anyone. I mean, people change.
"I'm not going to sell you. If you don't mind, please shut your reasoning so I can think we'll." He blurted, a string of anger hanging down his voice.
On reaching the place, he held up his crystal and opened the portal. He jumped to the other world with her and took her to the water fall.
After placing her on the floor and immersing himself for five minutes in the water, he walked out and held her gaze. She couldn't maintain it so she averted hers to the flowing water.
"Why did you go out?" Was the first question that came out of his lips.
"I w-was bored." She stuttered, rolling her finger in her hair. "I just wanted to go out for a little walk then return back home."
"Do you know you would have gotten yourself killed if I couldn't feel you call for help?" He questioned and her shoulders slacked. "Do you?"
"I'm sorry." She apologized softly with her eyes screwed shut and her face in her palms.
"What is wrong with you?" He raised his voice a little. "You did this yesterday and sat outside like a lonely pup, making it seem like I was treating you badly in Sanna's eyes. The hell is your problem?!"
"Then let me go if I bring so much pain to you!" She screamed and Logan hooked to the spot, eyes widening as he never expected such an out burst from her. "What is your problem too?!"
She got to her feet and began to walk away from him.
"Don't, I mean, don't follow me." She warned and began walking away from him with anger boiling in her.
Who does he think he is to boss me around like that?
Her subconscious seethed as she walked farther from him.
Instantly, a woman whose eyes were blood shot launched at her and held her shirt, crying.
"Help me." A familiar shake was in her voice and there were bruises every where on her body. "Please."
"Maris!" Logan exclaimed and ran towards her, thinking maybe it was another predator after her.
