Bestfriend or lovers
As soon as she opened the door, what greeted her was an unexpected visitor.
She blinked at the man before him, who had this boyish smile, with a suitcase in his hand as he stared at her. “Missed me?”
Aurora’s frown instantly turned into a grin and her sadness subsided the moment she realized it.
“Felix?”
“The one and only.” Felix shrugged, and opened his arms wide, “Now are we just going to stand here and stare, or do you want to hug me?”
She chuckled at his comment and instantly jumped into his arms and embraced him. “I missed you!”
“I miss me too.” He responded, now ruffling her messy hair.
Aurora rolled her eyes at that and broke the hug. “Really, three years and you still haven't changed.” She commented, then looked at his appearance. Felix’s usually dark brown hair and hazel eyes were still there but his pale skin had gotten tanned and she noticed that whenever the sunlight escaped from the windows and hit his skin, it was almost as if it was shining and glowing, her mouth opened wide in amazement at this change, “Wow, you tanned.” She commented, “And you got taller.”
He shrugged, “I know right. Did you remember I was just as tall as your shoulders?” He asked, smiling at this. “I’m almost as tall as Reagan now.”
He shrugged, “I know right. Did you remember I was just as tall as your shoulders?” He asked, smiling at this. “I’m almost as tall as Reagan now.”
At the mention of his name, Aurora felt like her heart was zipped with lightning.
Felix noticed her sudden change of mood and asked with concern in his eyes, “What’s happening? Did I miss anything here?”
She shook her head, fighting the tears that seemed to fall. “No…I’m alright.”
He scoffed at this, “No you’re clearly not, Aurora.” He said. Aurora didn’t tell him about her feelings for Reagan, and he doesn’t have to know that…
“You’re keeping secrets from me...I thought I’m your best friend…” he said, now pouting and attempting to lighten the mood but it didn’t help. And Felix being Felix, as sensitive as ever, he sighed.
“Anyways, you might be going through something so I’m not going to push you to tell it to me, but I can see your tears from here.” He said. “Come on, let it out, bestie.”
At that, Aurora felt her tears coming out. This time, Felix hugged her, now comforting her back. “Dang, I just returned and the first thing I saw was you crying…what a sight.” He commented sarcastically after and that made Aurora stifle a laugh.
“Come on, I’m in a serious mood here.”
He covered his mouth with that, “Oops. My mistake.”
Silence then passed as Felix comforted her and she let her tears out silently.
After a few minutes, she could feel her heart calming down and Felix asked, “Are you okay now?”
She nodded, now getting some tissues. As they were still standing by the door, she let Felix in with his suitcase in hand. Felix then left his suitcase by the sofa and walked straight to the refrigerator to grab a drink as if it were his own home. “Wooh, that was refreshing.” He said as he gulped down from the water bottle.
He then proceeded to sit by their sofa and looked at Aurora, “I’m just going to pretend you cried because you were too happy to see me.”
Aurora didn't have anything to comment on and instead pointed out his suitcase, “You still have your suitcase?”
He nodded, now laying down on their sofa, “Yes, went straight here as soon as I got off the plane. I just want to avoid my dad.”
Aurora laughed at that, “Typical Felix.”
And as if he remembered something, he instantly sat upright and pointed at his suitcase, “Oh before I forgot, I got you some sweets as souvenirs from the Philippines.”
And as if he remembered something, he instantly sat upright and pointed at his suitcase, “Oh before I forgot, I got you some sweets as souvenirs from the Philippines.”
She instantly opened up his suitcase to find it and smiled at the bunch of sweets there. “I’ll have all of these.” She had always craved these the moment her dad came from the Philippines on his business trip and bought sweets there too. And they taste so heavenly!
He instantly stood up and grabbed the sweets from her hand, “Oh come on! I bought that myself, just get some 3 packs of sweets for yourself. I’ll eat the rest.”
She gave him a judging look, “Then you’ll get fat.”
“I won’t. Did you know I have muscles?” He said as if it was a fun fact and started flexing his arms. Aurora rolled her eyes at that.
“Yeah yeah.”
He then went back to sit across from her and crossed his legs and his arms in front of him before demanding, “Anyways, tell me everything that may have happened when I was gone. Don’t leave out any juicy one okay!”
“You want to gossip? You could have gone to Dasha if you want some gossip.” She said.
“Oh that girl spills everything, even too much information and she speaks nonstop.” He complained. “I could lose to her, while you…” he trailed off, glancing at her.
“Oh that girl spills everything, even too much information and she speaks nonstop.” He complained. “I could lose to her, while you…” he trailed off, glancing at her.
She stared at him in anticipation, “While me? What?”
He shook his head and just smiled, “Nothing.”
And at that, Aurora couldn’t help but compare Reagan and Felix. While Reagan has his bad boy dark emo era, Felix here is brimmed up with a sunshine attitude. He looks fresh, glowing, and well-rested, he really did get to have fun on his vacation.
If she could have fallen for her best friend, what would his reaction be?
She shook her head at that, surprised and a bit disgusted by that thought. It’s a bit weird to think about it because they treat each other as siblings.
“Earth to Aurora?” She heard Felix snapping his fingers in front of her. “Gosh, what were you thinking too deeply that I have to snap my fingers in front of you to wake you up? He asked, snorting at her.

“Oh..nothing…What were you telling me?” She asked, trying to change the topic so that she could erase that thought in her mind.
“Oh, that “I’m here to pick you up..we’re going to the car racing game and catch up with the fam.” He said.
She instantly shook her head, “No. I don’t want to go.”
“But it’s fun? Where was my best friend who was so eager for this Sunday tradition to go? Are you really Aurora?” He asked, pretending to examine her. When she didn't budge, he sighed.
“Fine. Be alone. It's just that your best friend returns and wants to spend time with you.” He said, now pouting his lips again. “Please, Aurora. Come to the car racing game…For me?”
Aurora looked at him for a moment, weighing out her options. Since he’s practically begging her, she doesn't have any choice now. “Fine.”
Felix instantly jumped happily at that like a little kid who was given candy. “Yey! Now dress up first, you look homeless.”
“Really, insulting me after giving in. I might turn back-“
“No!” He yelled, cutting her sentence off. “We have to go there now! Dress up, Aurora.”
No!” He yelled, cutting her sentence off. “We have to go there now! Dress up, Aurora.”
“Fine, fine! Just wait here for ten minutes.” And with that, she prepared to dress up. Really, Felix’s way of begging and making her give in is evolving each moment they meet up. And she can’t even say no to those beautiful eyes.
Damn that guy.
