Disappear like a bubble
Reagan licked his lips and gave her a flying kiss, “Till next time, then, I had fun teasing you.”
“There won’t be next time, asshole!” She yelled as Reagan disappeared into the night, using her windows.
She heaved a sigh, feeling like her energy was drained out from her. That was the longest conversation she had with Reagan. And definitely the last.
Just you wait, Reagan. You’ll definitely regret that.
That was Aurora’s last interaction with Reagan. The next day, she packed her things, her clothes, underwear, and all her essentials, with a plan in mind.
Aurora didn’t bother waking up her parents as she instantly called Felix, who was in no time in her house as early as six in the morning.
“What’s wrong?” Was the first phrase Felix asked as soon as his car showed up in front of her house and came running to her.
“I’ll be leaving,” Aurora announced, carefully carrying her suitcase from her hand and a determined expression on her face.
Felix looked at her with an alarmed expression, not expecting her words, “Are you insane? Why are you leaving?”
Rolling her eyes, she closed the door and walked to his car, “I’ll tell you everything later but I need you to drive me to the airport and get me a ticket to fly to the Philippines as soon as possible.”
Still confused, Felix leaned on his car and faced her, “I don’t know what the fuck happened but I’m coming with you.”
She shook her head, “No.”
“Yes.” He argued.
Giving her a look, she said sternly, “No. You just got back to Norway. Be with your parents. And I want to be alone.”
Felix sighed, “I know you Aurora. You go and leave without a plan in mind the moment your mind gets overwhelmed. Now tell me.”
Her best friend knows her wholeheartedly. There is no way she could escape this questioning of him she has to tell him one way or another anyway. “Reagan came to my room last night, with an angry and bruised face blaming me for everything.” She admitted, leaving out the part where Reagan kissed her.
“Does your parents know he broke in?” He questioned.
“No.”
He clenched his jaw and pulled his door open and said, “Get in the car. I’ll add those bruises on his face.”
Aurora stood still, clutching her red suitcase in her hand, “No. This is my fight, so I’ll deal with this alone. I don’t want you to destroy your relationship, your cousins for goodness sake.”
Felix snorted at that. “All the more reason why I have to beat him up. It’s time for him to wake up. He goes into creating trouble and when things don’t get in his way, he acts like a child and blames everyone. I can't tolerate him anymore.”
He is right. He is definitely damn right and has a point. But all the nerves in Aurora are screaming at her to be alone in her soul-searching adventure in another country. “Felix, you’re making this hard for me.”
With a straight expressionless face, Felix gritted his teeth, “Fine. Unless you want me to wake your parents up, Aurora.”
“No. I know you wouldn’t.” Damn, to think her own mother has the most dangerous natural instincts who could hear any noise in her house..it was a surprise she even got out of the house without her mother waking up. Thank goodness she mustered up the skill of sneaking out.
Felix opened his door and sat in the driver’s seat with a slumped reaction. “Fine. If you happen to go alone there’s what happens then? What’s your plan? And when are you coming home?”
Aurora then put her suitcase in the trunk and sat by the passenger seat, before facing Felix. “I have a plan to not plan anything and just go with the flow.”
Feliz scrunched his nose in disgust, hating her idea. “Are you hearing yourself right now? You’re getting crazy.”
She chuckled, “Oh, you know I am.”
“What about your school? You’re just about to graduate in your senior year.” He asked. “Don’t you think it's so childish to stop your education just because of Reagan’s ass?
“Chill, I’m staying there this summer and will be back.” She said, not quite sure about it anymore. All she wanted was to get away from Reagan. She has some soul searching to do.
Felix looked at her for a minute, deciding and reading what was on her mind before sighing, “Fine. Let’s go.”
Aurora’s lips grinned at that and Felix drove her to the airport. She had all her papers with her and with Felix’s connections, it took them so quickly to arrange an instant ride to another country.
“If my parents ask about me, and I know they are smart enough to know where I disappeared to and would probably go after me, tell them I want to be alone and will be back by the end of summer.” She told Felix as the flight attendant was calling for them to board the plane now.
She then grabbed her phone and threw it to Felix, “Oh, and Keep this for me.”
Felix caught her phone and It took him a while to realize what was happening. His eyes widened, “Oh no. You’ll definitely need your phone, Aurora….. You’re acting like you're leaving for a long time and will disappear like a bubble!” He exclaimed, now panicking a bit.
She just smirked and turned her back to him, now boarding her flight. It was a bit strange to travel alone, without some bodyguard her father hired and her mother’s nervous stares but she sure handled it all quite easily. She was in business class and the vibe was comfortable and she felt nothing strange.
“Hello miss, do you need anything?” Asked the beautiful flight attendant.
“No thank you, I’m good.” She replied, smiling.
“Then I’ll hope you’ll stay comfortable for the whole ride.” Said the flight attendant.
She looked at the windows and the plane then went.
She watched some movies and ate and slept for a while, excited at the thought of traveling alone.
Aurora imagined her parents' reaction once they knew she disappeared…though she was excited to be alone and explore another country.
Actually, it’s her third time going to the Philippines but it never fails to amaze her. Back when her mother would be paranoid, she would take vacations with Felix there which was fine, which also made them closer, and became best friends as she spent most of her time with Felix.
Just then, the plane jagged. Aurora blinked, not having experienced any minor disturbance in the air before.
“What is happening?” A man asked from behind her.
The flight attendant coughed to gather their attention, “Attention, passengers. It was just slight turbulence, please remain calm.”
She furrowed her eyebrows at that, sensing the flight attendant’s voice quiver. The moment they ask the passengers to remain calm, things are going to happen anytime soon.
Another turbulence and the passengers all looked up at the flight attendant for any sign. The flight attendant all gathered, still remaining calm.
Just then, Aurora heard the roaring of the thunder and saw lightning just near them.
She gulped, her gut instincts were right. They are in trouble.
Guess this is the end for me. I’ll die a virgin. I’ll die leaving my parents and not telling them I love them. I’ll die not knowing if Dasha and Felix will get together.
She closed her eyes, imagining all her what-ifs. All her regrets in life.
Drawing her breath, she accepted her whole fate.
And it seemed all her memories were hazy as the next thing was, she didn’t wake up in heaven and saw a whole angel. Instead, she felt she was moving, like in a vehicle.
Like at sea.
A yacht...
She instantly sat upright, her head aching from the movement.
She looked around her and saw she was in an empty room. She was lying on the soft mattress of a bed, and to her left was her red suitcase, all neatly placed. There was vanity to her right and in front was a door.
Where the hell was the plane? Didn't they have turbulence and were about to crash? Why the hell is she here?
She blinked, still confused at everything and processing her mind. Wait, is this a dream? There is no way she would be dreaming.
Just then, the door opened, and a familiar figure appeared.
Wait. No, this is no damn way happening.
“Hello, Aurora.” He greeted, his mischievous dark hazel eyes and jet black hair meeting her.
Of course, it had to be him. Reagan.
Damn Reagan.
