At this moment, Aurora couldn't feel anything. She felt numb t his words. So stupid. and so gullible of her to rust him, Reagan damn fucking Mason Hill. She wanted to curse out his name out loud but Felix tapped her shoulder, bringing her to reality.
Instead, she laughed at his face, at his words, at his man mouth. “You succeeded, you lying bastard. Damn you. You made me fall in love with you again when I swore I didn’t. Is that what you wanted? Are you now satisfied?” She grabbed him by the collar and demanded, “Look at me, Reagan. I said LOOK AT ME AND SAY THAT YOU ARE DAMN SATISFIED!”
Aurora’s hand’s slipped and hit him by the cheek, making his cheek turn red as the sound was so loud. “YES, I AM DAMN SATISFIED, now leave, Aurora. Leave. Go to your mother.”
She rolled her eyes, wanting nothing but to burn him alive. She harshly pointed at his chest at every word she said, “You’ll definitely regret it, Reagan. Remember this day. This moment. This scene and print it in your stupid mind. I, AURORA MAKAROV, will not sway on your words again. EVER!”
Breathing hard, she felt a bit relieved to say those words out loud, her heart still feeling heavy. She looked at Felix beside her and motioned, “Wait for me here, I’ll pack my things.”
Breathing hard, she felt a bit relieved to say those words out loud, her heart still feeling heavy. She looked at Felix beside her and motioned, “Wait for me here, I’ll pack my things.”
Felix quietly nodded, feeling a bit lost seeing all the things unfolding in his eyes but still wanting to support her. He knows how she gets mad like this but every time this happens, she feels like a different person was inside Aurora.
Reagan left somewhere too and Felix stayed by the deck.
Felix could help Aurora to pack but then he thought about how she wanted to have a personal space for now. Although he’s no in the place to have anything to say since things that happened were only between the two of them, he had a slight idea of what happened. It must have hurt her to act this way..
With tears rolling down her eyes, Aurora put on her basic white shirt and denim pants before packing her stuff with her red suitcase and it only took her a few minutes before returning to the deck to see Felix sitting there. He instantly stood up at the sight of her and offered to carry the suitcase.
“Are you ready?” He asked and Aurora took a moment to pause.
She stared at her suitcase…no…just seeing this suitcase brings back all the unwanted feelings that she wanted to bury from Reagan.
She looked at the waves of the ocean and tried to get closer to the edge.
Felix panicked seeing her almost close to jumping into the ocean, “Aurora, please think it through. Don’t jump, I know you are feeling so down but please live for your mom and dad…for Dasha…for me…please.” he pleaded and Aurora turned to him with a smirk, which sent some weird goosebumps to Felix’s spine.
“Silly, best friend. Relax. I’ll only get rid of my things.”
As she said that, she pushed her red suitcase into the ocean, along with her cell phone and Felix gasped and worried. “Don’t you need those?”
As she said that, she pushed her red suitcase into the ocean, along with her cell phone and Felix gasped and worried. “Don’t you need those?”
She shook her head “Nope.”
Felix smiled proudly, his hands crossed in front of him, “You look badass there.”
“Thanks, now shall we go?” Felix nodded and guided her as the helicopter got down for a bit.
Aurora couldn’t help but turn around to peek at Reagan’s reaction to her throwing her things into the ocean but saw him nowhere.
She shook her head and got on the helicopter. She put on the headset and prepared.
This will be the last day she’ll see him. She’s going to make sure of that.”
As the helicopter started to move, Aurora didn’t dare to look back. She might have overreacted a bit there but all her emotions were bottled up in one that it all poured out at once.
Felix beside her looked like he wanted to ask more but was stopping himself.
“Why are you staring at me? Do you want to say something?” She asked sassily, not in the mood to talk.
Felix seemed to sense it so he just went silent, “Nothing, I just missed you.”
Aurora glanced at the pilot and saw it was familiar, she seemed to see him from her father’s coworkers…
But gasped when she saw it was her mother’s close friend, Uncle Wave. He glanced at Aurora to smile and Aurora’s eyes widened, “Hello there, Aurora.”
“Uncle Wave!” She gasped, glancing at Felix who shrugged.
“What-I mean-how-” She stammered, trying hard to form the words.
“Your mother asked me to get you and Felix here asked me to trace where you were.” He explained.
Aurora instantly remembered the way she acted earlier and regretted it. “So it was you who Felix called as a secret source and about earlier…Uncle, can you keep it a secret?”
He nodded, “I keep a lot of secrets, pumpkin head, and keeping you a little one is no big deal. Don’t worry my mouth is shut.” He said, pretending to zip his mouth, and going to stare at the road. “Honestly, I could have sent someone to be your pilot but since I’m not that busy and I owe your mom something, I might as well do the job.”
Aurora nodded, “Then it’s a pleasure to be escorted home by you, Uncle Wave.” She commented and Uncle Wave just laughed it off.
Aurora then paused. And it took her to realize that her mom was an ex-agent…although her mom didn’t tell her about Uncle Wave’s suspicious “business trading” job, and his fast reflexes at how he quickly caught her when she was about to fall to the concrete fall when she was a toddler, or how Uncle Wave disappear for a whole year only to return as if nothing happened and pretending to have so many connections and crazily armed house, she already knows he’s also an agent as her mother only introduced a few friends…
She just realized how crazy her world is…
She then faced Felix, “Tell me what happened back home.”
Felix gulped, “I see you have finally asked me that…Well…While you were away…”
He started to talk to her about how Dasha was so worried about her sudden disappearance. Before her mother was sent to the hospital, she was too worried about her safety and feared she’s getting kidnapped by her past enemies… which led her to too much stress and suddenly a drop of red blood came from her and got hospitalized…and her father panicking and not even sleeping as he stayed in the hospital to watch over his wife. The whole Sunday tradition was broken up and everyone was agitated.
Aurora took in the information, wanting to get prepared when she faced her parents. She felt nothing but shame and regret now. Why did she even believe in Reagan’s words? Why did she even not attempt to swim across the ocean just to get away from him?
So stupid of her. Dammit.
“I know what you’re thinking.” Felix said, breaking her thoughts, “It’s not your fault, so don't blame yourself.”
She sighed, leaning her head to his shoulder, “I know, but I still feel guilty for not being there for them. I wish I could turn back time, Feliz.”
He just smiled at her and rubbed lightly her back to comfort her, “Be easy on yourself. It will be alright.”
She smiled up at him, “Thank you for coming and taking me from there, Felix. Really.”
He nodded, ruffling her hair, “Yeah yeah, stop being mushy on me and focus on your goal. What now? What’s your plan?”
She just looked at the window, “I don’t know. I’m not sure anymore…I guess I’ll try to fix all of this first and go with the flow.”
He nodded, “Sounds like a plan.”
And Aurora fell asleep on Felix’s shoulder on their way home, feeling tiredness taking a toll on her.
