Apollo's growing feelings
RIX's P.O.V.
W-What? Did I hear it right?
“Are you deaf or what? I just said I’m sorry!” Apollo repeated, looking elsewhere, avoiding my gaze.
I was too stunned so I couldn’t react as soon as possible.
But he looked at me with his silver eyes. This time, he didn’t avoid my eyes. He looked at it straight, giving up his pride by sighing deeply.
He said, “I’m sorry. I was full of emotions. I was worried— worried sick, Beatrix! That was my family you almost put in danger. But I understand you cried. The way I approached you is so wrong.”
Apollo standing in front of me with a serious expression on his face.
He could do this?
He could take down his pride? Oh fuck… He turned me on again.
"Hey," I said, unsure of what was happening. "You’re so brave but I was just your employee. I don’t deserve—”
Apollo cleared his throat before speaking, and he didn’t mind what I said. "I wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have made you cry. That’s it, don’t try to say anything more."
My eyes widened in surprise. I had never heard Apollo apologize before.
"Oh, then, it's fine," I said, shrugging it off. "I was just having a rough day… I mean, I don’t really know what to do anymore. I just wanted to please your family, so they wouldn’t suspect us or anything. I was just trying to help but I’ve been a fucking hazard. I’m sorry, Mr. Cartier.”
I looked down. I’ve been explaining as if I was inside a police station and I was about to get sentenced to death, damn.
"I know, I know… but it was my fault," Apollo insisted. "I was being too harsh on you. You didn't deserve that. So stop explaining and crying. It hurts me too. I hate seeing someone cry because of me. I shouldn’t be the reason why you have to bring yourself down.”
Damn… he’s getting even hotter now that he prove he’s a better man than I thought.
He was explaining looking expensive but still cold. However, sincerity can be seen.
I smiled softly at Apollo's sincerity. "It's okay, really. I appreciate you.”
Apollo sighed, still not satisfied. "I just don't like seeing you upset. You're always so strong and confident, it was hard to see you like that."
I leaned my head to stretch my neck, crossing my arms. "Well, I'm not always strong and confident. I have my moments."
Apollo nodded, taking a step closer to me. "I know, and I want to be there for you when you do. I don't want to be the reason you're upset."
I raised an eyebrow, surprised by Apollo's sudden concern. "Are you sure you're okay? You're acting different."
Apollo chuckled, the corners of his mouth turning up in a small smile. B-but…
"I'm fine. Make the most out of it. Tomorrow, or maybe later, I won’t be like this anymore.”
I grinned, pleased to see Apollo opening up. "Well, you're doing a good job so far."
Apollo nodded, his eyes locked onto me. He was feeling shy. Is this the first time he acted like this in front of a stranger?
I mean, I still consider myself a stranger to him.
Charis cleared her throat.
“Just so you know, I’m still here! Duhhhh!” she said, crossing her arms, rolling her eyes, and flipping her hair. She then rolled her eyes.
I pinched the side of her waist.
“Ouch!”
I whispered, “Stop, he’s my boss!”
“I won’t! Hmph!” said Charis. But she walked away. Haha! What an unpredictable woman.
“Your friend, she loves you,” he said.
I nodded. “I know that, and I love her too. We’re not always vocal to each other, but we know how much we mean to one another.”
Apollo nodded. “I’ll go now. See you in the family house,” said Apollo.
“Alright.”
I heard him whispered as he turned his back from me. “I told you to make the most out of it.”
“You saying what?” I asked, furrowing my brows.
Apollo shook his head and waved his hand before turning to leave. "See you later, Beatrix."
As Apollo walked away, I couldn't help but feel a small flutter of excitement in my stomach.
I couldn't wait to see where this newfound openness would take us.
—
“So what was that, huh?!” asked Charis.
My cheeks are blushing, I tried to hide them by covering my face using both of my hands. “It’s nothing, okay? He’s the one who keeps on making things complicated.”
Charis turned her face to my cheeks as she gets closer to me. “And you’re inhaling it. The toxic vibe he’s giving to you.”
I took a deep sigh and removed my hands from my cheek. “I know. Let’s wash it off my mind, then.”
Charis waved her hand in front of my face. “No, no, no! Come on, I don’t mean to be MEAN to you. I just wanted you to be careful, but it’s not bad if you feel affectionate toward him.”
“Yeah,” I said. “And I think it’s not worth the fight. Nevermind! Let’s go. Apollo’s been texting me for years!”
Charis furrowed her brows. “You wouldn't go to work again?” she asked.
I nodded. “He texted me. He told me that he already informed Madam Glo and all I need to do is just follow his orders. It’s like I’m shifting my boss. From Madam Glo, it’s him.”
Charis smirked. “For I know, it’s an advantage to you ‘cause you’ll be with him! Haha!”
“STOP! IT’S NOT LIKE THAT!”
“Then stop blushing,” said Charis.
I was about to follow him with a broom but she was so fast!
I didn't realize, she went away now, and I'm left at her apartment.
That woman is dead once I catch her!
Ha… it’s already 7 pm. I should go.
Arogpollo calling…
Oh, shoot!
Why is he calling so soon?
I answered the call.
“Where are you?”
“U-Uhm—”
“Go home. NOW!”
“Alright.”
He hung up the call. As for me, I’m trying to rub my ears to lessen the pain. Gosh.
—
When I went home, he let me do the dishes, clean each room of his sisters and brother, and such.
What the fuck is he doing to me?!
Finally, he made me press his suit for the big meeting.
Dang it, it’s almost midnight— and a MEETING? Is he always like this?
Argh! I’m taking it back, I’m not excited about doing this! I’m not excited to work for Apollo!

Apollo’s P.O.V.
What a nice day.
“Ahh…” I said as I burped.
Ayden, my brother, was sitting with me inside the family room as we watched a comedy movie.
My brother was laughing and it feels like his lungs are about to come out. While I was watching as if this was a drama.
Well, I was too preoccupied.
How was she?
I wonder.
Then I laughed a little as thought about it
Ayden noticed.
“Are you bipolar?” he asked.
My eyebrows met, and it was an answer. He gets it already.
Ayden turned off the television and looked at me.
“Something’s wrong with you, bro,” he said.
I crossed my arms.
“Cut to the chase.”
He chortled. “It seems like something happened between you and your wife. Looks like she made you so happy in the bed last night, huh?”
Ayden tickles me as he laughs.
Ayden is just two years younger than me so yeah, he knows things like this.
I can’t take it! I pinched his nose until he continuously hit my arm.
“Sticking your nose to my life won’t do you any good,” I said.
I picked up a piece of popcorn from him and eat it.
“I think I have the right since I’m your brother. What’s bothering me is why you have to let her take care of the food tonight?”
I shook my head and messes up with his hair.
“I just need to check something.”
Both of us went quiet. Ayden opened the television again to watch. As for me, I stayed quiet and blunt.
I don’t understand. I don’t know how it happened, but it just did. There’s something jiggly and ticklish that is moving in my stomach every time she’s around.
She’s clouding my mind. Whenever I’m around the meeting, I couldn’t even focus while thinking about every single moment of our sex.
I don’t understand. I’m not like this.
Haven, my fuck buddy, never let me feel this way.
I shouldn’t do this. I shouldn’t stay this way. This is nonsense.
I don’t want to get hurt anymore.

RIX’s P.O.V.
Last night, he told me he doesn’t need me anymore. But he still wanted me to stay in his room because he doesn’t want me to work in the club anymore.
Jeez, I don’t know what he wants from me.
Also, the thing he wanted me to iron? That fucking suit? Jeez, he stopped me from doing it in the middle.
He said he needed it in the morning so yes, I did it today.
I was putting the finishing touches on Apollo's suit, making sure that everything was perfect for Apollo’s big meeting.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in seeing him looking so sharp and professional. I knew that he was a tough man to please so I really hope this is enough.
As I finished up, Apollo walked over to me, a small smirk on his face. "Thanks for getting me ready," he said, his tone teasing.
I raised an eyebrow, unsure of what was going on. "Is there something wrong?"
Apollo chuckled, stepping closer to me. "No, everything's fine. I just wanted to see you squirm a little."
My eyes widened in surprise as I realized what was happening.
Is Apollo pulling a prank on me?! Darn, he was enjoying it. I couldn't help but feel a small sense of annoyance at his antics, but I couldn't just get annoyed.
Let me ride on his trip.
“Whoa, it seems like you wanted to have a quickie with me," I said, rolling my eyes. "I should have known better than to trust you. But no worries, I actually like to do it too.”
Apollo grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "You should have, but you didn't. That's your mistake."
I couldn't help but feel a small smile tug at the corners of my lips.
It made my heart skip a beat.
What the fuck did he do to me?! He hop on the boat I made.
He was getting cautious lately, but he likes to be carefree today, huh?!
As Apollo went closer to me, I received a call from the hospital.
Phew! That saved me.
My brother's condition had worsened, and he was in critical condition.
—-
I was devastated, but I knew that I had to keep her emotions in check. I had to be strong for my family— I mean for my only family, my brother.
As I left the room, Apollo watched me go, his expression softening. He knew that I was going through a tough time, and he wanted to be there for me— or maybe I was just assuming things.
Or maybe he just didn't know how to show it.
I took a deep breath. The hospital doesn’t need me to come because they were doing random tests for Andrei and visitors are not allowed yet.
Ha… I wish I could take away the pain.
Later that day, as I was out getting some supplies for Apollo.
Yep! He said he doesn’t need me today, but he brought me together with him when he went to his work.
Such an ingrate.
Apollo asked me to buy papers for the mega business meeting that will start around 4:30 pm, and it’s 4:00 pm already.
The long line is making my work longer!
“Rix? Rix!”
That call was coming behind me so I looked at him.
“Hey!” I shouted. It was Harley. He’s smiling to his ears.
“What are you doing in a retail store?” he asked.
“Ugh, you just remind me of my worst day ever. I know you could sleep all day while waiting for working hours. I would’ve done that if I wasn’t in this fucking life.”
Harley furrowed his brows. “What exactly happened here? What’s the thing you needed to buy?”
“It was an order from Apollo. Damn him!”
“That much?! He really gave you that much of a workload?!” he asked, fuming.
I don’t know if it's right to just nod… but in the end, I still nodded to agree.
Harley didn't waste a second. He then went away, so I don’t know where.
Oh no… don’t tell me?!
