Chapter 47 Hired a killer
Olivia expected Solange to show up. Unfortunately, it was her father who showed himself. A refined old man. Well-kept with a shrewd personality. One would say he wasn't old. However, his silver hair showed it all. She guessed the man must have had a fair share of women in his early age, seeing how handsome he was. Despite the few wrinkles on his face.
He still had a sharp jaw. Bewitching dark eyes and a striking personality. One would say he, the man, was trying too hard to be a good person. Even in an expensive suit, his protruding belly was visible.
“So you are the girl making my daughter cry,” the man said, standing before Olivia. By now, Olivia had gotten hold of his name. The man turned out to be familiar. Although he couldn't recognize her due to the change in their face, however, she still recalled his face perfectly well.
“A girl out of nowhere… wanting what my daughter has,” the man remarked shamelessly. Olivia wanted to be free and strangle him to death. Once she saw the man with her father arguing. One would say Jason Philips was her father's foe rather than a friend.
“So, are you going to kill me… how shameless are you?” Olivia said sarcastically. She didn't fear such men. Jason saw the guts in the girl's eyes. She dared to challenge him. Wasn't she aware of who he was? Or she was just muddleheaded.
“Little girl you are playing with fire… although I'm very curious…” the man remarked and sat on the chair his men brought for him. He was a distinguished man. Known to the world, however, few knew the dirty games he played behind the scenes. Olivia fixed her sharp eyes on him.
“My men have been trying to find something about you… your sudden origin… where you popped out from,” Jason said, crossing his legs. Olivia's eyes narrowed shrewdly. It seemed Solange was indeed insecure. Of course, it was likely the old vultures would want to know about her. Pedro was right.
“May I know why a respected man like yourself… is bothered about… Nobody likes me,” Olivia remarked, observing the man closely. If this man was working with Antonia. It meant he too must have a hand in what happened to her family.
“Little girl, I'm your worst nightmare… you won't get out of here” he said coldly, his expression darkened and Olivia knew what was coming.
“Are you perhaps a murderer… is this what you do?” Olivia gave a mocking chuckle. Of course, the Phillips family was known all over Mexico. The very same man was a former senator. He had a fair share of his work. Rose to the top as the wealthiest man…no wonder Antonia tied Luciano to Solange.
“You talk too much… the man you have eyes on… is my daughter's husband… what makes you think… I can't get rid of a stubborn fly like you” Jason remarked, arching his brows at her. Something about the girl didn't sit well with him. Her eyes, her gaze, and everything about erases wrong. The shape of her face baffled him.
“Mr. Phillips… it's a crime to kidnap an innocent person… killing is… ten times a crime,” of course, she had a better share of this. Olivia saw as the man's expression morphed into a displeased one. Shifting in his chair. A smirk appeared on his face.
“What can a little girl like you do,” he asked leaning down to her, Olivia went silent. His voice was so calm and serene. His movements were graceful. He didn't look like a bad man. Which was dangerous.
“I would love to get my hands dirty… but I have someone else in mind… come out here!” Jason added and called for someone. Olivia's eyes narrowed suspiciously. Soon she heard footsteps approaching. In no time, a tall figure emerged from the shadows. To her dismay, it was someone she was expecting.
“Meet your doom,” Jason said with a smirk, and got up from the chair. Olivia was surprised to see the tall man before her dressed in dark clothes which made him look like some dark prince.
“This side is the girl… I want you to kill,” Jason said, turning to the man. Olivia wanted to laugh at her predicament. She didn't expect Jason to be so stupid as to hire a contract killer to get rid of her and that to Pedro.
“I see” Pedro murmured in that deep voice which would make anyone afraid. Walking closer, Olivia fixed her eyes on Pedro. Calm and collected.
“Get rid of her… make sure you don't fail me like the last time,” Jason said, glaring at Olivia. “I want this girl dead and six feet under… she's such a nuisance,” the man said coldly, and all Olivia did was stare at Pedro.
“Interesting” Pedro mumbled, scanning Olivia carefully. Suddenly, Jason's phone vibrated, and he walked out of the junk room to answer it, and the two men keeping watch followed him out. The room was in pin-drop silence. Olivia sat there unmoving.
“You?” she mumbled when Pedro walked closer to her. His cologne invaded her nostrils, the only man who made her feel safe.
“So, what should I do with you?” Pedro asked while tugging at the ropes she was tied with… Olivia was in disbelief.
“What do you mean… that old man hired you to kill me, and you are stupid enough to agree to it” Olivia whispered through clenched teeth?
“I'm just a hired contract killer…” Pedro started. Reached for her face and bent down a little. Olivia frowned, why was he here? Was he working for Jason?
“So you know that old fool… get me out of here” she cursed, trying to move? Pedro chuckled and tilted her head by the chin.
“Little girl… who asked you to go out without my permission… since you are fearless… save yourself from me” Pedro murmured leaning close to her ear. Olivia froze when he bit her earlobe, his hot breath tickling her sensitive spot, Olivia was restless.
“Ouch!” a gasp left her mouth when she felt a tiny, sharp pain on her arm. Shifting her gaze to her arm. Olivia hissed, seeing a syringe embedded in her flesh… Glancing up at Pedro. He had a serious expression on his face.
“W-what the heck,” Olivia muttered and lost consciousness.

Meanwhile, Solange was pacing back and forth in the waiting room. It was another day, Luciano was finally out of danger. The entire night, she had been waiting for her husband.
“Quit doing that, okay…” Bianca, who was busy fixing her face, said irritated with Solange.
“I can't calm down, okay… someone tried to kill Luciano,” Solange said, still pacing around. Who knew what was happening? Luciano was shot twice. The police haven't found anything or the men who tried to kill him.
“I'm sure he must have seen the men who did this… once my brother wakes up… he'll handle this” Bianca said nonchalantly and continued with her hair. She had spent the entire night at the hospital with Solange. She didn't even tell her sick mom about Luciano, which was a good idea.
“Make sure Antonia doesn't find out about this… she's hurt,” Solange said and sat down. All this was suspicious. Someone out there was.
“It must be someone who hates us… could be that dead fool,” Bianca said sarcastically and tossed her makeup kit away. Solange looked up at Bianca suspiciously. There was something she didn't understand. However, she sat there and waited for her father to show up. He said he was dealing with things his way. Who knew what he meant about that?
