Chapter 49 Fooled her
Pedro had gotten Olivia safely back to the villa. It had been a long night, but he did his best to make sure she was safe. Jason Philips was a fool to trust him again. After what happened. Pedro was certain. The man would still want to hurt Olivia.
“Boss… everything is good,” one of Pedro's men said, handing him two guns. Pedro took the guns and nodded at him.
“Go back and burn the warehouse… give Jason a taste of his medicine,” Pedro ordered, and the man nodded with a bow.
“And boss, something happened,” the man said hesitantly when Pedro was about to walk back upstairs.
“Did something happen?” Pedro asked suspiciously.
“It's about well… Mr. Zane tried a murder attempt against Mr. Alfredo Garcia” the man finally said nervously,
“Punish him the right way…” Pedro said and made his way to the stairs. Zane was insane to attempt something without asking for permission. Pedro reached Olivia's bedroom door just in time to change her bandages.
“You came…” Olivia said and tried to stand when Pedro shoved her down the bed.
“Does it hurt?” Pedro asked calmly and sat down beside her.
“A little” Olivia replied innocently and sat like a submissive child. And watched the man attend to her wounds. She didn't understand why he did what he did, but both were back at the Villa.
“That man was my dad's friend before… but with time they seemed to be distant” Olivia said after some time, biting her lower lip when Pedro was cleaning her wound. She suffered some bruises while escaping from that warehouse. Solange's father found out about Pedro, and she knew each other.
“I saw him a couple of times… Once, my dad threw him out of our house… they seemed to have had a huge fight,” Olivia added. She didn't mean to pry about her dad's affairs, however, it just happened. She called that man uncle.
“What else?”
“Nothing. I wondered why he let his daughter get married to Luciano. Does this mean…?
“He was also in cahoot with Antonia Garcia… that woman couldn't do it alone… She needed extra help,” Pedro said, cutting her off, and Olivia was surprised. Although she expected that, she didn't think someone she called her uncle would betray his friend like that.
“He raped a girl… and the parents of the girl filed a case against him,” Pedro started explaining while cleaning her wound.
“Does this mean dad…”
“He asked your dad to defend him, but your father refused, “Pedro added. Olivia said faintly, her dad was a righteous man. He was a good lawyer. He never sided with evil.
“So you mean… my father defended the girl against Philips,”
“Yes… since then, they have become enemies to the neck,” Pedro added and bandaged her arm. Olivia stared at him without blinking. It wasn't clear to her why he was like this. Scary, killed a few men before he rescued her from there.
“And you… why?” Olivia muttered after a while. Pedro kept his gaze away from her. She was hurt. It was his fault. He promised not to let anything happen to her.
“Tell me the truth…how did you find me…or know about my family?” she asked softly. By now both were close. She was sitting on the bed with Pedro beside her.
“Does it matter… you are in love with a murderer aren't you” he said, throwing her a side glance.
“I'm not in love with him,” Olivia said defensively. She already proved she wasn't in love with Luciano. He could die for all she cared.
“Tell me… how did he fool you like that?” Pedro inquired and rose to his feet. Olivia tried moving into a comfortable position. Thanks to Pedro. She laid back in bed with her back supported by pillows.
“Love happens… Haven't you ever been in love?'' she asked, staring at him. Pedro disposed of the cotton and bandages covered in blood and returned them to Olivia. Looking at him. He didn't say anything.
“What about that woman… The blonde chick… it seems she's in love with you” she had seen how Hannah looked at him. Her behavior said it all. She was in love with Pedro.
“Are you jealous?” he asked sarcastically, and Olivia scoffed. She didn't care whom he fucked with. He was a mafia, after all.
“I'm not… at least a woman doesn't scare me” she wasn't one to be jealous. Although what she saw in the kitchen between Pedro and Hannah bothered her greatly.
“Is she special?” she wanted to know. Pedro gave her a side glance before he turned away. Olivia was left in suspense by the man. He left the bedroom without answering her.
“Love… I'm sure you love her” she said, narrowing her eyes shrewdly. Turning towards the window. It was getting late. She wondered how far Luciano was. She was certain that Antonia was crying and plotting to find the culprit.
Thinking up there. Olivia decided to show some emotional support. Maybe take a small trip to the hospital and visit Luciano. The Garcias needed a little emotional support from her.

“Jason… Do you think this is a joke…?” Antonia asked as soon as she found a chance to leave the house and met with the man she trusted. Jason wasn't just her ally, but someone she trusted more than anything.
“All this is complicated. Do you think I'm not trying? It's you I should be asking… Tell me… what have you done about that girl” Jason shot at Antonia slamming his hand on the table. Both were angry.
They needed to calm down and find a solution to their problem.
“Which girl? If you mean that Livia Gonzalez, then no…she's nothing” Antonia said nonchalantly and Jason frowned. That girl threatened his daughter. She was beautiful and had solid backing. The only thing he regretted was not killing her himself. Instead, he asked someone else to do it.
“She's a threat… Do you know who's backing her?” Jason asked, not sure why Antonia was acting like a foolish woman.
“And why should I care?” Antonia said, frowning at him.
“She has something powerful protecting her… even if we wanted to hurt her… it would do us nothing”
“And why exactly are you bothered about that girl…she's just a nobody… yes my son must have seen her and caught feelings,” Antonia remarked, she understood Jason's fear. His daughter was precious to him. And yes, Luciano was so foolish to have fallen for Livia.
“Because I'm suspicious of her… her behavior and boldness is something I find strange… Do you know where she comes from?” Jason asked and pushed his chair backward. He saw the rage in her eyes. Her boldness. For someone who was timid, she didn't even beg or cry.
“I don't care about her… for now, we need to find who tried to kill my son… I'm tired of this hide and seek game” she was tired of everything if someone wanted to hurt her family. Then they could come out from the shadows and fight her head on.
“What about that boy… Ramirez's only heir. I still don't believe he died… I lost countless men. But I'll find out more…especially about that girl” Jason said. He, too, was aware of the long-lost story of Antonia and that other woman who was the daughter of a dangerous Mafia.
Antonia and that woman fell in love with the same man. Many bloody, unspeakable things happened in the past which led to the death of certain individuals.
