Night of the Ball - Aubrianne Ivanov Thornton – 1
Alpha Theodore Claude Thornton
Alpha Theodore Claude Thornton got an alert, interrupting his tennis round with his elites. While some were still playing golf, others ventured to his tennis courts.
Goddess, damn it, he cursed under his breath and excused himself again. He thought this would be wrapped up by now, but the scum bag Alpha escaped into TL before his men could arrive.
Somebody at that airport would lose their job. Theo vented as he contacted Ivan and gave the order to shut this place down.
And he dispatched more security teams to be on high alert in search of Zayne and his man.
His property was on complete lockdown, and his already tightened security just got like fort knox.
Aubrianne Ivanov
"Wow, Aubri," Jada gushed, "Honey, you look gorgeous. Aubrianne rolled her eyes while eating, sitting on her couch, and shoving a cheese pie down her throat.
She was getting a bit nervous, and Leia was prancing around. She could not understand her sudden mood change.
But, Aubrianne needed her wolf's strength, so she gently coaxed Leia into a cease-fire, getting her through the night. Else she would stay in her room and not leave.
Aubrianne had threatened, but Leia agreed to step in, even though she knew Aubrianne was bluffing; it was her party. Many people, especially her father, would be disappointed if she did not attend.
So clearly, her human was not that heartless. Besides, if she were, Leia would haul her ass down those stairs because she had a feeling about tonight.
Not quite sure what it could be, though Leia was intelligent, she felt strongly that her mate would find them tonight. However, she was not going to share that with her human.
"Now I am serious, your hair, wow." Jada inspected her style while she went on. Aubrianne's hair was in an updo. Little tendrils fell to the side of her ear and the back of her neck.
The bun on top was extravagant curls, rolled and clipped with little diamond-studded hair pins looking like little shining stars; it was beautiful, and the front of her hair had a neatly done swept-up pouf.
"Then the tiara would complete this look, total royalty," Jada gushed, eyes twinkling, happy for her girlfriend.
Aubrianne smiled at Jada as if she was in pain, it looked lopsided, but it was because they got word from Kirrah and Daniela when they snuck out to look at what was happening downstairs.
She heard the guests were arriving and that the ballroom was practically packed.
Also, her dad had checked in on her before he went to get ready for the night, and he seemed distracted, mind far compared to his lightness earlier.
However, she dismissed it as she heard from Shawn that her father was entertaining guests all day, which can be draining. Now he had to prepare for a night of the same thing.
Nevertheless, they were all ready to get into their dresses. The evening had gone by so quickly. Wrapping her meal, Aubrianne brushed her teeth, then sat back on the chair to touch up her makeup.
She had messed up her mouth.
Soon enough, Aubrianne and her girls were ready to make their appearance.
Aubrianne wore a fitted champagne-colored mermaid gown with an intricate lace pattern and crystal beaded embroidery cascaded over the dress with a sweetheart neckline.
The dress clung to her body perfectly, accentuating her boobs, tiny waist, wide hips, and ample butt. Her shoes were the same color and material as the dress.
A diamond tiara adorned her head, a combination of earlier jewels from the 1700s, brought together into a delicate and harmonious series of running scrolls interwoven with star and moon-shaped flowers.
Daniela, Kirrah, and Jada looked just beautiful in their dresses. Daniela's was a long, elegant grass-green gown with intricate platinum beading, a sweetheart neckline, and one-shouldered.
Platinum-colored stilettos and accessories to match, while Jada and Kirrah wore no-shoulder, lace-patterned, knee-height dresses. Kirrah wore black, while Jada wore red.
Kirrah wore red shoes with red lipstick, bringing out her black attire, while Jada wore blood-red lips and a cream-colored pointy-toe high heel.
Kirrah's hair was in loose curls, all focused away from her face. Jada rocked a sophisticated low bun with gold clips pinned in, while Daniela wore her long blonde hair out and pulled to one side in loose waves and a side part.
Their makeup highlighted and completed their looks.
The girls appeared at the top of the stairs, and the soft violin music that flowed through the air stopped abruptly; the chattering from the crowd below stopped right after.
All heads and eyes from below looked to the top of the staircase. Directly at the bottom, Aubrianne's dad stood, waiting for her to descend.
Excitement rose in the girls.
"Ok, we will go first; you stay here till we get to the bottom," Daniela suggested, fixing the tube of her dress.
The girls agreed, and Aubrianne stepped back while Jada, Kirrah, and Daniela descended the stairs; her father leaned in and whispered something to the guy holding the mike when he said, "Jada Wilson, Kirrah Jaxton, and Daniela Grey."
"Her close companions, everyone!" He finished, the crowd applauded, and there was wolf-whistling from the unmated wolves, Aurbianne assumed. Her eyes were glued to the masses, darting across the decorated ballroom.
The ballroom was exquisite, there were round tables around the room about four feet tall, and the table-top was about two feet wide. These were strategically placed throughout the room.
Some were empty where guests could rest their drinks, purse, or things like that, while others had all types of hors d oeuvres you could think of. Little goodies to keep the guest from dying of hunger before the dinner.
"And now for the moment we have all been waiting for, some of us since we arrived yesterday," There was light laughter about the room while the mike man smiled widely.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, All honored guests and elites, Alphas and their select members, Delegates of the Nations, and The President of the United Nations of TL himself, ladies and gentlemen," another uproar.
"Let's welcome the lady of the night, Ms. Aubrianne Ivanov Thornton." As they looked to the top of the staircase, the crowd erupted in applause and shouts of approval.
Meanwhile, Aubrianne followed his every word and froze at Aubrianne Ivanov Thornton. When did that happen? Her father was too much; shaking her head, her eyes met him at that moment, and his eyes twinkled with mischief and a huge grin.
He changed her name and did not tell her, but no big deal; he was going out of his way to make up for lost time. Besides, she would have had his last name if he had been around from the start.
While somewhere in the room, at those words, Christen scoffed. That did not take long, she thought. While Tobias cheered happily for his gorgeous sister, and Timothy broke the glass of champagne, he held and stormed out.
A breathtaking smile graced Aubrianne's lips, her eyes twinkling as she walked into full view and started her descent, her hands hovering over the balusters in case she lost balance.
She kept her eyes on her father, and he was ready and waiting, hand outstretched for her to grasp.
The crowd gasped, mesmerized by her beauty and grace. She held her head high and walked with purpose.
While in another part of the room, in a waiter's outfit, a pair of gray-blue eyes stared at Aubrianne, descending the stares hypnotized by her beauty, and the need to take her away from these people and protect her was staggering.
Thankfully, he had worked his way in before the first round of security arrived. He did not know what was going on, but only that the security kept increasing.
He kept his head down and carried out his duties diligently and efficiently. They might offer him the job permanently when he is done.
He was that good. Making sure to blend in perfectly, this reminds him of his hunter days.
Nevertheless, he already knew his escape route. Now, he just needed to get 'her' alone.
While on another side of the room, five pairs of eyes were on Aubriane and the room, then two walked off and went to check out the parameters.
Observing the increase in security also, however, they were to act only if the opportunity arose; if not, she was scheduled to show up on Monday for an appointment.
And looking at their surroundings, they were beginning to think Monday would be their best bet. But they were here already so they could enjoy the festivities.
They were grateful for their boss's connections at the end of the day because there was no way they would have gotten in here without him.
While at every corner, Thornton's men were on the lookout for signs of trouble.
And Daniel forgot to breathe the entire time Aubrianne took to walk down the stairs. Cassius and Daniel were captivated. Their eyes scanned her from head to toe, 'perfection.' Cassius moans.
And this was when Cassius decided they needed help from a witch. Suddenly, he tried convincing Daniel to speak with a witch, that maybe they could help him do something to get Aubrianne to choose them.
Also, stating she did not need her mate's mark and that she was already powerful when Daniel had pointed out the obvious. They cannot mark her. She needs her mate.
