Night of the Ball – Father/Daughter Dance - 3
Aubrianne Ivanov
It was time for the father-daughter dance, and suddenly Aubrianne became emotional. Her chest rose and fell as her heart swelled.
'Leia?' Aubrianne's voice held an almost pleading tone while heavy with emotion. 'I am here.' Leia sighed and released some support for Aubrianne, giving her strength and courage as best as possible because it was emotional for her as well, but differently.
Aubriannee needed to get changed, so she had excused herself, Jada in tow, and headed up the stairs to get her out of this gown and into a dress past her knees in length.
Midnight blue, with a diamond-crusted lace pattern over the entire dress. And her shoes were the same material as the dress; Aubrianne looked stunning.
Jada had fussed over her as they hurried from one outfit to another, and now it was time.
In all of Aubrianne's childhood dreams and imagination, she never came close to what she was actually experiencing.
There were all the father-daughter dances she missed out on, only having that one time when a teacher stepped in and offered her a dance in high school.
How embarrassing she had felt at the time. Now, there was no teacher, or she standing on the dance floor behind everyone, swaying by herself. No, this was the real deal for her.
"May I have this dance?" Theo stood with a hand behind his back and the other outstretched to Aubrianne.
"And now for the Father-Daughter dance, everybody, such a special occasion for both parties involved." And more applause, along with murmurs of agreement, flooded the room.
Aubrianne took her father's hand and allowed him to pull her up, and they sauntered gracefully back to the ballroom, some guests following behind them.
Those who had finished their meals were ready for the next event. It was time to mix, mingle and dance the night away.
Theo led Aubrianne to the middle of the dance floor, and they started dancing as soon as the music came on. They danced and danced, using up the entire middle space as he would twirl her and twirl himself.
They were having so much fun on the dance floor, waltzing to the sound of the violins. While guests looked on and spoke in hushed tones as they watched the pair.
"I heard he has never gotten over her mother." "I heard he would be handing her the reins." "I heard Christen does not like her... or was it that she does not like Christen?" "Who is Christen? "Oh, Goddess, the wife."
"I heard the boys dropped out of college; I wonder what they are doing now?" "I heard the eldest hates her."
These were some of the remarks from the guests in attendance while they all smiled and batted their eyes, watching the father and daughter on the dance floor when three songs had soon ended and the other onlookers joined in.
Some were husbands and wives, while the rest were fathers and daughters. It was a sweet moment for everyone. As they dance and enjoy each other's company on the dance floor.
Soon, there were also unmated pairs joining them on the dance floor, enjoying themselves as well.
Aubrianne's eyes were brimming with tears as her dad showed off his dancing skills on the dance floor while she, herself, did some moves.
No, not the moves you are thinking of.
Aubrianne and her dad did the electric slide and the chicken dance. She, too, was having a grand time as they laughed and continued their movements.
After dancing for a few more sounds, the music suddenly changed to one with a slower beat when Daniel appeared out of nowhere, "May I have this dance?"
"Sure, you may," Theo pat Daniel on his back and looked around, "As a matter of fact, your timing could not be better," as Theo spotted his head of security for the night, he left the pair.
A partnerless Aubrianne smiled her charming smile and walked into Daniel's waiting arms, "Hey you."
Daniel bent and engulfed her tightly, he missed her, and she avoided him all day.
Did not even respond to his messages, but he figured she was occupied. He brushed his lips against her ear, "You are stunningly beautiful."
Aubrianne shivered but blushed at Daniel, craning back slightly. He had said that to her before. Daniel's hand held out Aubrianne's while the other held her lower back.
While Aubrianne slipped her hands around his neck, pulling her hand away from his outstretched, she leaned in and said, "You said that to me already."
Sliding his free hand down to meet the other on her lower back, he leaned close to her air, "I meant it then, and I mean it now."
She smiled up at Daniel, then laid her head on his chest as they swayed with the sensual flow of the music.
Aubrianne laid her head on Daniel's chest because Leia would not quit; she needed to rest her brain. Suddenly, Leia's uneasiness was at an all-time high.
It was causing Aubrianne as well to be uneasy, and so she held onto Daniel as she tried to gather her wits. Because no matter how much she had asked Leia what was going on, Leia had not said a word.
Which did not ease an already uneasy Aubrianne.
The pair danced in sync with the music, and after two more songs, Aubrianne could catch herself, focus and use a little magic to calm the nerves caused by her restless wolf.
Her wolf was no help to her right now.
Soon enough, it was mostly the younger folks around Aubrianne's age who were all out on the dance floor, and Aubrianne and Daniel started enjoying themselves, just as she was having a time with her father earlier.
Aubrianne even did the macarena, just all around having a good time, laughing with Daniela dancing next to them with some handsome dude. Aubrianne winked at Daniela, who quickly shook her head.
Aubrianne had giggled at Daniela's fright about meeting her mate; she had even had moments with Shawn and Kirrah on the other side of them.
Aubrianne realized they did this on purpose, keeping her locked in the familiar, and she simply continued freeing herself up when Daniel and Aubrianne felt it simultaneously because they both stopped moving.
Or maybe Daniel was only reacting to Aubrianne suddenly stopping; suddenly, her body felt an intrusion of warmth on the inside, and tingly sensations pricked her skin.
Aubrianne turned slightly in the direction of the source, still loosely embraced by Daniel.
He followed Aubrianne now and turned while in his mind he was swearing and praying to the Divine Moon Goddess that what he thought was happening right now. IT IS NOT what is happening right now.
Daniel watched Aubrianne intently.
However, they weren't the only two in the room that stopped and was now searching because a powerful aura was suddenly released into the atmosphere, arresting everyone except for some of the stronger Alphas and Aubrianne.
Only a handful were unaffected. However, it was followed by a thunderous growl that reverberated around the ballroom, shattering the chandelier above them.
Some humans scampered about; however, most did not move, one because they could not, at least not yet, and two, those who could move chose not to.
Everyone's eyes were glued to the scene unfolding. While Thornton had his security circle the ballroom and made his way to his daughter's side.
Aubrianne tried to calm and steady her breathing and her heart because the growl that shattered the chandeliers caused warmth to pool between her legs.
At the growl, her entire body reacted; her body trembled as a pleasurable sensation ran straight to her core. And the force was getting closer. It was more warmth that wrapped her in the cocoon of its embrace.
Aubrianne's eyes darted to a struggling Daniel next to her when another growl rattled the place, this time breaking the windows. She looked back in search when...
Their eyes locked, his blue to her brown, and it was only them.
Alpha Zayne Steele,
Intel from Jovi told Alpha Zayne where the roadblocks were so that they could avoid most. However, it came to an end. There were no more roads they could take to get them to Thornton's without a roadblock.
It was time to hit the forest.
They quickly parked the vehicle off the road, placed their bag on the ground, and shifted, picking it up in their snout, then they took off into the thick forest brush.
They ran with purpose. Actually, Aragorn ran like he was chasing something.
They even avoided contact with other wolves, not risking getting caught because it could be Thornton's wolves guarding the outskirts.
