No such thing as Magic!
Twenty-One Years ago
"Please, I beg you, I need your help! You are a Wilson Witch, and you are from one of the most powerful bloodlines." Athalia's voice trembled in fear and worry.
"Yes! And you are an Ivanov, just as strong or even stronger. What is your point?"
"Yes, I am as strong, but if I could have done this myself, I would have, please Martha!" Athalia begged for the witch's help. She was desperate and feared for her baby girl.
"Please, she is not safe. She will never be safe. She is too strong." Only two months old, her voice faltered. A shiver ran down her spine at the thought of what could be.
"My baby girl is only two months, TWO months Martha, and she has been exhibiting tremendous powers. It must be contained, for I fear for her life and others." She laments.
Dread and hopelessness gripped her entire being, she needed Martha to do this one deed, and if she didn't, she didn't even want to think of what would be.
She dare not let her mind stray into a tragic cataclysmic place.
Martha stares at Athalia, hesitant to do what was asked of her because of the magic it entails. However, Athalia was one of her closest friends, and she wanted to help her in any way possible...
Present Day
Aubrianne Ivanov
Aubrianne looked away from the piece of paper in her hand and finally glanced at the box's contents. In there was an almost clear emerald necklace and a small suede package.
She touched the necklace, which glowed in her hands as it made contact with the rightful heir.
Aubrianne's eyes lit up in awe and wonder.
Aubrianne gently placed the necklace down, opened the small black suede case, and saw five small vials of a greenish liquid and the diary her mom mentioned.
She pulled the small diary out and flipped through some pages casually, and the picture popped out. There he was. Or should I say there they were together, looking like a happy couple?
Mr. Thornton and my Mom.
Aubrianne felt horrible. How could she be so angry at her deceased mother? She was ashamed. But she was through the roof with the anger of her mother's selfish ways while on this earth.
She was also grappling with the fact that she was a Hybrid if her mother was to be believed, and Aubrianne did not know what to think.
She certainly was not buying the part of her being a Hybrid, her Father being a wolf, and her mom being a witch. This all seems like an elaborate scene from one of those fantasy movies.
Also, Aubrianne recalls how the necklace lit up at her touch. What could that mean? Also, her slight change in appearance. What was that about? How was that even possible?
Humans don't have powers, there is no such thing as Magic, and people don't turn into werewolves at full moon. That is not a thing, so then why would her mother say these things? Was it just to prove her point of wanting to keep me safe?
But then why admit she was selfish? Oh lord, her mind was spinning, it felt like it would explode, and her migraine was coming on in full force. That feeling of something trying to burst through was rapidly taking over.
Things were rapidly spiraling, and she rushed to reach the one person she thought she could talk to about this since Jada had been MIA.
She no longer wanted to be alone as she dealt with this. Whatever in the world THIS was.
She frantically picks up her phone and calls Daniel, but he does not pick up. She does not want to be alone with this, and damn it, Jada!
She was not here to comfort her and soothe her. Rub her back while she fights this force.
She calls Mr. Grey, and thank god he picked up. He had given her his cell number when she pointed out she didn't have a proper way of contacting him.
"What is happening to me?" she shouts into the phone.
"Aubrianne? What is going on?" Mr. Grey's worried voice came through as calm as ever, laced with concern. He was lounging on his office chair in his home office. He had brought his work home with him last night and had not gotten much rest since.
Aubrianne was breathing heavily and panting, "please, somebody help me, she cried/growled into the phone. She jumps at the sound of her voice. She did not recognize it.
Aubrianne's eyes widened, and her heart started beating out of her chest, batting against her rib cage as if to break free of its constraints. She fought that force in her head that felt like her skull would crack open.
"Please, Mr. Grey, HELPPP." Aubrianne whimpers as she rolls over on her bed, writhing in excruciating pain.
"Please, Aubrianne, what is happening?" Mr. Grey, almost shitting himself with his worry at this point about what was happening to Aubrianne, he did not know what was going on, and by that time, he was already rushing out the door and into his car.
Mr. Grey knew his Alpha would have his head if anything happened to Aubrianne under his watch. His mind even wondered if this had something to do with what Daniel had told him about his and Daniela's concern about being watched.
He had explained that Daniela had brought it up to him. However, he was already getting the same vibes, and they then surmised it was not coincident.
Nevertheless, Mr. Grey told them to always have a guard with them while they figured out what was going on, who was following them, and why. Also, Mr. Grey reassured Daniel that Aubrianne was protected. There was a team discretely guarding her.
Shaking his head in his attempt to shake away the worst thoughts ever, he says, "Stay on the line with me." He threw the jeep in reverse and sped out of his garage and down the road heading towards the entrance to make it to Aubrianne's.
He paused briefly, only to mind-linked his son and tell him to meet him by Aubrianne and to contact Alpha Thornton and tell him there is an emergency with Aubrianne."
He did not want to put this call on hold to try and reach his Alpha because he did not want to break that connection by any means.
Mr. Grey drove that jeep as if the road was on fire, and the fire was chasing him to devour him, swallowing him whole and sending him to the pits of hell.
Yes, that is what would happen if something were to happen to Aubrianne.
"My head, my head hurts." Aubrianne groans, now on the floor in a fetal position. She had rolled off the bed while writhing and fell onto the cold floor.
Ten minutes later, he was in front of Aubrianne's home, "I am coming, dear, hold on."
Aubrianne was on the floor writhing in pain, fighting this thing that was trying to explode. She tried keeping it down with all her might. She started to roll around on the floor in pain and groaned, thrashed, and screamed.
At this time, her nosy neighbors were alerted, and they jumped into action at the scream but quickly fell back when they observed Mr. Grey pulled up and was making haste to the front door.
They remained looking on.
Mr. Grey ran inside and unlocked the door with his copy of the keys. He did not know what he would find, what Aubrianne could be going through, to be in so much pain.
He sniffed the air, and thank the Divine Moon Goddess, there were no strange scents about.
Upon gaining access, he hollers, "Aubrianne? Aubrianne, where are you?"
.
"In here," he heard, followed by a loud cry." He raced to the room the voice came from and saw the condition Aubrianne was in.
"Tell me where hurts? What happened?" Mr. Grey went to her side, trying to brace her up.
"My head, my head hurts. I don't know what happened. It feels like..it feels like something is trying to burst out."
Mr. Grey froze at that statement. Understanding washed over him.
"Stop, Aubrianne, stop now. Stop fighting it. It is your wolf trying to make herself known. Stop fighting it." He warns and pleads.
Mr. Grey did not know how much Aubrianne knew about her father and her mother. However, with their little interaction with her, he and his Alpha assumed not much at all. Even though they could never really tell.
Witnessing this, he realized she did not know a thing about what she was.
Any shifter would know when the force comes. Their wolf was making an appearance for the first time, and they were never to fight it. They must release it, let go and submit to becoming one with their wolf as they make the change for the first time.
"Just breathe," He crotched closer to her and rubbed her back.
"Just breathe and relax your mind. Let the transformation happen. Stop fighting it. Just breathe." Mr. Grey simply repeated and continued to stroke her back.
Aubrianne tried so hard to steady her breathing, but all she could think about was the pain. It was too much for her to bare.
My wolf, he had said? Under all the pain she was in, she knew she heard right.
"I can't. It hurts too much." She manages to get out.
"The fact that you are fighting it is why it hurts Aubrianne. Stop fighting it."
"Has this ever happened before?" Mr. Grey was suddenly curious to know.
"Since I was sixteen...it had only... worsened... about a year ago... A year was when...when it started to feel like something was trying... to burst through."
About a year ago, after meeting her father, Mr. Grey surmised in his mind.
Aubrianne heaved a sigh as she got all that out. It was a task for her. Simply explaining in a few sentences seemed like the most challenging thing in the world for Aubrianne to do. However, she powered through the pain and got the words out.
