Chap 52: The Baseball Match - Part1
The Stadium was packed with excited spectators screaming and cheering, holding posters and banners. Aiden felt like a little kid who finally got his favorite candy. He excitedly looked around the Stadium, thinking he could catch a glimpse of the players.
" They will be on the field in a while," Dylan commented. He had been staring at Aiden for the past few minutes seeing him looking at his surroundings in awe. The lively smile on Aiden's face had brought Dylan a great sense of satisfaction.
" I can't wait to see them," Aiden replied, smiling at Dylan. How Dylan wished Aiden could always look at him like that instead of the fearful look he always gets.
Dylan's thoughts were interrupted when a lady from the Organizers team approached him.
" Mr. Hunt, I am glad you are here," the lady said, giving Dylan a flirtatious smile. She was dressed in a sexy bodycon dress which hugged her figure well. She had heard about Dylan being a womanizer and decided to try her luck.
" My name is Stella from Mr. Garcia's event management team. I will guide you to your seats," Stella said, making way for Dylan. She noticed Aiden standing so close to Dylan and was a bit surprised.
" Is he with you?" Stella asked doubtfully.
" Yes, he's Aiden, my adoptive brother," Dylan said with a blank face.
Aiden was shocked to hear Dylan referring to him as a brother. When they were young, Dylan never referred to Aiden as his brother though everybody knew he was adopted into the Hunt family.
Stella was even more shocked. She stared at Aiden from top to bottom. Though he was pretty good-looking, he was dressed in a simple white polo t-shirt and blue jeans, while Dylan was elegantly dressed in a Business casual outfit that screamed of money. They both looked like they were from entirely two different Worlds.
Stella led the pair to the VIP seats, which had a perfect view of the field. The Royal Beast team's owner, Mr. Garcia, approached Dylan as soon as he saw him.
Dylan shook hands with him and had a few discussions regarding the team and the possible investments.
Aiden felt out of place in between their Business discussions and hoped he could see the players soon. As if on cue, the crowd erupted into an applause making Aiden eagerly look towards the ground. The players were entering the field, and Aiden almost jumped in excitement.
Dylan was distracted by Aiden's enthusiasm and his lips curved into a smile. Mr. Garcia then excused himself, leaving Dylan in Stella's care.
The match had started, and Stella tried her best to seduce Dylan, but he completely ignored her and seemed only interested in his brother. Either Dylan was continuously gawking at him or occasionally talking. He didn't even bother to see the match. Stella found the situation to be weird. Why was Dylan Hunt so interested in his brother? Were they always so close? Dylan was a popular name in the Business World who was often clicked by the paparazzi with his girlfriend and a few other girls but never was he seen with his brother. Everyone had thought he was the only son of the Hunt family.
Stella's thoughts are interrupted by the announcement of halftime. Dylan then received a call and moved to the side to speak on his phone. Finding an opportunity, Stella approached Aiden and smiled at him.
Though Aiden wasn't very comfortable with Stella's presence, he still smiled back.
" Can I ask for a favor?" Stella asked in a sweet voice that sounded fake.
" What is it?"
" Can you leave us alone for the next half?"
" What do you mean?" Aiden was confused.
Stella glanced at Dylan flirtatiously in an attempt to give a hint to Aiden. " I-I wanted some alone time with him."
Aiden clearly understood what Stella was trying to do and felt pleased. He looked at Dylan, who was still busy on a call and smirked. He crossed his arms and said, " I would gladly leave you alone with him, but the match..."
" I understand, Mr. Aiden," Stella said in a hurry. " Don't you worry. There's a seat available on the frontline. If you could..."
" I am totally fine with that," Aiden said with a smile. It was as if he had won the lottery. He could watch his favorite players and even avoid being with Dylan. Maybe he could even call Noah secretly.
" Thank you so much," Stella said, feeling relieved.
Without wasting a second more, Aiden nodded and went towards the seat Stella suggested. The spectators here were too enthusiastic and cheered at the top of their voices. Even though it was crowded, Aiden felt better here compared to the boxed VIP seats he shared with Dylan. He got the actual feel of watching a live match.
When Dylan finished the call, the first thing he noticed was that Aiden was missing.
" Where's he," he asked Stella in surprise.
Stella thought Dylan might ask his brother to come back, so she didn't tell him about his changed seat. " I-I am not sure. I just saw him leaving."
" How could you let him leave?" Dylan's tone was harsher than he intended.
" Sorry?" Stella said, confused. Even if Aiden had left on his own, who was she to stop him?
Dylan realized his mistake and tried to smile but failed. " I-I mean, did he tell you where he was going?"
" No, Mr. Hunt," Stella replied with a blank face.
Dylan didn't look pleased and took out his phone, thinking of calling Aiden, but remembered that he didn't have a phone. He cursed himself for not giving Aiden his phone earlier. Dylan got up so that he could look for Aiden, but Stella stopped him.
" Mr. Hunt..? Where are you going? The match is about to start," Stella said, pointing towards the field.
" I need to look for Aiden."
" He is not a small boy. Don't you think he can come back on his own?" Stella replied in a matter-of-fact tone.
Dylan wanted to retort but gritted his teeth in anger. Stella was already looking at him suspiciously as his behavior towards his brother was too awkward. He sat down on his seat and tried to calm himself because he couldn't lose control over his emotions in front of others.
Dylan looked around the Stadium, hoping to catch a glimpse of Aiden while Stella was continuously babbling beside him. He didn't hear a word she said and continued searching among the audience.
Stella noticed his lack of attention and said in an irritated tone, " Are you too close to Aiden? I never heard about him before."
Dylan suddenly jerked his head towards Stella when he heard the word Aiden.
"Why would you hear about him?" Dylan seethed with a hint of jealousy.
" I mean, you are all over the media. They never reported about you having a brother."
" He avoids staying in the limelight," Dylan quipped. He was getting annoyed by Stella's personal questions as he didn't want anybody to know about Aiden.
Stella nodded and didn't question further. After a few seconds, she held Dylan's arms and said seductively, " What are your plans tonight? We can have a great time together."
Dylan grunted in annoyance and looked away. He stiffened up when his eyes met Aiden's. He was sitting in the front row and staring straight at him.
Dylan noticed Aiden was glancing at Stella's hands on him and flinched away from her as if he got an electric shock. Even Stella was surprised by the sudden reaction. Aiden smirked, shaking his head, and turned around to watch the match.
" What's wrong, Mr. Hunt?" Stella asked, looking hurt.
Dylan didn't respond as his mind was running wild. Why was Aiden sitting away from him? Why did he react like that after seeing Dylan with Stella? Did he think that Dylan was flirting with her? No!! He couldn't let Aiden misunderstand him. The whole purpose of coming to this match was to get close to Aiden. Heck, he didn't even like sports. If not for Aiden, he would have left within the first 15 minutes.
The nosy woman beside him was still rambling about something, and Dylan tried his best to maintain the calm and cool facade he had mastered for his Business meetings. He suddenly had an idea and gave Stella one of his best smiles which he had reserved when he needed something from someone. " I was thinking..."
Stella looked at him hopefully.
" ...Could you possibly arrange a meeting with the players?" Dylan asked. Aiden had said the Royal Beasts was his favorite team, so if he could personally meet the players, then Dylan could earn some brownie points.
" Yes," Stella said excitedly. " I can arrange that." She thought this was an excellent opportunity to impress Mr. Hunt.
Dylan glanced at the scoreboard and said, " Looks like our team is going to win. So how about meeting them after the match?"
" I will see what I can do. Just excuse me for a moment," Stella said and left the VIP box.
Dylan was impressed with himself and glanced at Aiden again. Aiden was busy watching the match while the person beside him leaned toward him and whispered something in his ear. Dylan's blood boiled seeing another man being so close to his Aiden. He abruptly stood up, and his feet moved towards Aiden on their own accord. Right now, the only thing in his mind was to get Aiden back where he belonged, which was right beside Dylan.
