DOUBLE TROUBLE WITH THE TWIN WOLVES 11
C H A P T E R E L E V E N - - - M A D D I S O N
Tom, Tim, and Reidan were climbing a dimly lit ramp with one bag apiece, and Maddison was almost jumping at every boom, creak, or crack she heard. Tom was also holding Reidan in his arms as they were doing so. Reidan was squeezing his hand with his little, pudgy fingers and cooing at him. When she noticed another of her unexpected babydaddies spending time with one of her boys, it took all she could to contain her tears and keep from sobbing.
The grin that wanted to come to her lips at that moment was resisted as she deliberately corrected herself.
She wasn't naive enough to hope or even think that something other than her boys seeing their dads could come out of this, but that in and of itself was a win she hadn't even envisioned earlier that day. A spike of heat shot through her like a flash of light and heat merged into one when Tim placed his hand on the small of her back and led her through a doorway.
She muttered an expletive while trying to ignore how wonderful it felt, "Dammit, their touch is still magic.”
She could not allow herself to become so engrossed in them and become so easily distracted when there were far more significant matters to be concerned about. Despite her best efforts, she could not escape the terrifying creatures that were pursuing her and her children.
A small, chubby woman with pink cheeks and gleaming hazelnut eyes welcomed them with wide arms. She almost took Ryker from Maddison's arms, shrieking with excitement and causing the infant to laugh right away.
Oh my God, how lovely they are! There are also two of them! Oh, Barry, you didn't let on that we would be receiving the prettiest little guests in the entire world! "She murmured, gripping Maddison's hand with one of hers, swiveling Ryker onto her hip with the seasoned ease of someone who had undoubtedly raised more than one kid of her own, and casting an ecstatic glance over her shoulder at her husband.
"Well, isn't it true that more is better? ", said Barry, a large, burly man, beaming through his thick beard. "Jerome gave me a call and informed me that we will have some visitors staying with us. You own what we own. Jerome and I go way back. He nodded at Maddison and then addressed the two guys, "I suppose you two are Tom and Tim."
When they heard the name, the wolves almost immediately stood up straight and saluted the large bear.
It's a pleasure, Colonel Ruiz. Tom said, "Sergeant Tom Crawley."
"Sir, we apologize for interrupting. Tim added, "Sergeant Tim Crawley."
Barry, who was grinning like the nicest damn grizzled biker in the world, shook hands with both Tom and Tim. His sleeves were barely pulled up, and Maddison counted at least ten different tattoos on each arm. The gray in his hair and beard indicated that he was in his forties, but his pale gray eyes were so sharp and his physical condition was so strong that he could have easily taken on the wolves and given them a run for their money.

"Call me Barry, and here is Mary, my wife. It's not an intrusion. Jerome's buddies are my friends."
"Pleased to meet you, ma'am," Tom and Tim responded in unison, Maddison beaming at the bright-eyed, cheerful woman swinging Ryker in her arms.
"My name is Mary, not ma'am! And please don't forget about it. You think Barry's scary? Wait till you see how many lads call me ma'am like I'm ancient! Psh! And what do these two young angels' names mean? And you, my darling! Oh, you look so pale! I'll fetch you some coffee and a muffin. Is your blood sugar under control? " Mary inquired, wrapping her free arm around Maddison's waist and leading her deeper into the vast estate.
"Maddison is my name, and plese call me Maddie. The kid you're carrying is named Ryker, and the other hellion is named Reidan," Maddison said, giggling at how motherly Mary appeared. "Thank you very much! I'm sure everything is OK; it's just been a hard day," she said.
She made Maddison think of her Quezon born mother. She overcame the pain that poured through her and followed Mary to the second floor, where she crossed a wide hallway that led into a kitchen. Ryker remained securely attached to Mary's hip as the woman raced around the kitchen like a whirlwind even though she was instructed by Mary to sit down.
Maddison surmised that they were in some type of old maintenance facility that had been converted into a bunker and a house because of the small windows that looked out over the railroad yards. The majority of the bikes she could see outside were chromed-up hogs, and she could make out flashing lights above them.
"Mary, may I inquire where we are?" Maddison asked, perking her ears to hear whether Tom was perhaps on his way to bring Reidan to her.
Being even briefly apart from one of her boys felt strange. If there had been any other moment, she would have jumped up right away to go find him, but something inside of her told her that if there was anybody in the world she could trust with her children, it was their dads!
“Oh! My love, you are in the Bear Den. Barry decided that we were done with running about once the military experience for him played out and our children all grew up. He was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of his by opening a bar when we settled down, acquired, and renovated this property. He has always had a passion for motorbikes, and now he divides his time between maintaining them and managing the bar below. Best mannered biker bar you'll ever visit, I can assure you of that," Mary added with a happy giggle as she set a hot mug of coffee and a bowl full of warm muffins in front of Maddison.
They had a lovely aroma. Maddison was unable to stop. Since the tiny sandwich she had with Sofia in the morning, she hadn't eaten a thing, and a lot had transpired since then to cause her stomach to complain and churn. She bit into it while gently rolling her eyes back in her head.
Maddison covered her lips as she said the words before she had time to fully swallow, "Oh yeah, these are fantastic."
"Homemade recipe. Ryker was placed on Mary's knees as she answered, grinning. "Barry adores them," Mary said. Tell me, my love, what you've gotten into with those wolf lads of yours. ”
Maddison objected, her cheeks flushing, "They're not my wolves." She could not refer to them as hers.
“Really? With her lips slightly pursed in amused astonishment, Mary enquired. "Don't say these infants aren't theirs. They are focused on the little golden sparkles with their fathers! Furthermore, I can spot an Alpha wolf when I see one, so please stop lying to me now, my love. I've seen too much to be taken in by any smoke and mirrors, Mary replied with a wink and a smile as she ran her hand through Ryker's hair, making the young boy laugh.
Madison sighed and let out a little shrug. Mary, though, had her there.
They are Ryker and Reidan's dads, so no. They didn't even know they had children until today, and I wasn't going to track them down and inform them.
"Why not? " Mary inquired, not a hint of accusation in her voice.
"Because... well, we had a one-night stand, and it was safer for me to avoid them and anyone else I knew." And I can't expect two wolves to change their lives for kids they didn't choose. It would be unjust to them. It was my choice to keep the boys, and I am capable of raising them on my own. I just need a little help right now to get them to safety, and then everything will be fine."
Madison yearned forebodingly for her listeners to accept what she was saying. she really did, though? She attempted to calm down by biting the inside of her mouth, but she wasn't sure if she succeeded. Ryker was directed toward Mary by the quiet cluck of Mary, who grinned at the young man while cocking her head to the side.
“Ryker, what are your thoughts? Could your fathers possibly leave you now? In my opinion, no! The relationship between a shifter and their children is something I believe your mother is grossly underestimating. Watch and observe! ”
Maddison tried to slurp down her coffee after taking a sip as she could feel her blush getting darker and darker. Not just the embarrassing situation, but also the entire day and everything that took place on it. She was aware that, for the time being, she should be safe, but she didn't feel entirely secure. Although she was confident that her boys were safe and that her physical body was not in danger, what about her heart?
Maddison experienced a sense of being trapped, as if her heart had been shot directly in the chest. What if Mary was correct? What if she and Tom, Tim, or someone else had a relationship? When she expressed to the twins her desire to welcome children into a happy, complete home, was it possible that she would actually end up with the family of her dreams? Maddison, you must not dream. Fairytales are not real. She chided herself, biting into the muffin again, Especially when there are men with guns after you.
