DOUBLE TROUBLE WITH THE TWIN WOLVES 12
C H A P T E R T W E L V E - - - T I M
While clenching his phone in his hand, Tim peered out the window. His mind was racing with a million ideas that were competing for his attention at the same moment but falling short of doing so. Too much was happening, and he was unable to focus on any of it.
It had been a quiet night. Maddison and the babies stayed in one room with them, while he and Tom shared a room above the bar. Barry maintained a tight ship, and as they told him what had happened, his demeanor turned exactly as gloomy as Tim's had. This wasn't a minor issue that could be solved quickly. Tim was aware of that. Tom was aware of that. Nobody now had a strategy for how to deal with any of it, therefore they were all sorts of screwed.
Tim hadn't even gotten out of bed before Tom, the idiot, left Bear's Den before Tim did by using one of Barry's choppers. They had spoken about needing to travel to Shaun and the rest of the squad to pick up some more supplies and to personally inform Jerome of the situation. Tim had thought he would be the one to carry out the task, but Tom had gotten up much earlier than usual, and by the time Tim discovered what Tom was up to, it was too late to stop him.
Thus, he found himself there, gazing out of a window, as his blackmailer bombarded his phone with calls, texts, and every swear word known to man or shifter alike. Tim clenched his teeth. He hadn't bothered to pick up the phone. There was no point in trying to talk to Blake when he must have been raging just now, frothing at the lips. Tim was not in the mood to cope with the insults and threats that were being directed at him.
Even though Colonel Ruiz was one of the most legendary SEAL heroes in history and he had missed the rendezvous time, he couldn't leave Maddison alone in the mansion. Nevertheless, in a circumstance like this, Tim would never leave Maddison, Ryker, and Reidan without Tom's or his presence.
He was lost in yet another gloomy idea, as usual neglecting the crucial issues, when he heard light footfall approaching from behind him. Turning back, he saw Maddison hiding a shy smile from him and tucking her hair behind her ear. The sight of her made his stomach turn. Spirits above, she was still flawless, and it was almost ludicrous how her body and intellect beckoned to him.
She offered him a cup of coffee and said, "Morning. In order for me to have some breakfast, Mary insisted on remaining with the kids for a little while. Do you wish to accompany me? I've heard that Tom is out doing some type of errand."
Tim closed his eyes and gave a deep grumble as he thumbed the phone to quiet when the phone rang again in his pocket at the same moment he received the coffee. Maddison's stunning eyes were tinged with anxiety as he opened his eyes once again, and she gave him an inquisitive glance. He hastily cleared his throat.
Tim, you are making her nervous, dang it. Get yourself and your head together.
He smiled and walked over to them, saying, "I'd love to join you."
Maddison led him into the kitchen as her hips exaggeratedly swung as they moved through the constrained hallway. Maddison appeared relieved. They entered the kitchen, and Tim was relieved to find a seat since he knew it would be impossible to keep his crush from her for very long. With the knowledge that she was the mother of his puppies, staring at her luscious body did that to him.
His pups. Tom's and his. He was still perplexed by it, and he had not even had enough time to sit down and truly discuss it with himself to really grasp its significance for him. But he was confident of one thing: despite everything, he was one content wolf. He could still be grateful for becoming a parent, despite the numerous dangers that hung over his head. Additionally, his lovely partner joined him in the dining room for breakfast.
"Maddison, I'm sorry. I just had a rough past few days," The table was groaning beneath the weight of the abundance of food Mary had set out for them as he piled some pancakes, eggs, and bacon on his plate.
“Really?” Maddison sneered as she drank her coffee, "I didn't even notice. I'm sorry too, I mean.” She sighed and said, "I don't intend to be snippy. ”
“Hey, feel free to act anyway you choose around Tom and I. You're aware of it, right? At this point, I don't think you could possibly do anything wrong in our eyes," he stated genuinely.
Maddison halted, a pancake bite on her fork in the air. Tim had to avert his eyes as she grimaced slightly and looked down, suddenly appearing very surprised.
"Did I say something wrong?”
“No. Actually, no. It's simply... er. I sort of kept Reidan and Ryker from you two.” She bit her bottom lip as she added, "I don't believe that can be justified that easy.
Tim put the utensils down and sat up straight. Her large, gray eyes were shining with what may turn out to be tears if he didn't say the right thing or express his feelings to her clearly. He extended his hand and raised her chin so she was staring at him.
"Nothing needs to be forgiven. You don't have to apologize for that. There was no way for you to find us. It's not like we're on Sassy Date, and you didn't even know our last names," he added, resisting the gnawing need to lean in and kiss her anxious pout away.
She added in a faint voice, "But I did not even tried to," which further twisted the dagger in his heart.
"Don't worry, Madison. Now that we are getting to know them, We'll sit down and discuss this as soon as things calm down and as soon as we find out how to keep you safe. But for now, I must let you know that you did nothing wrong. We need to have been aware that this may also occur. Let's just say that I'm not astonished that you became pregnant if you choose the appropriate woman.
Additionally, the fact that you had twins was essentially a given. I'm stating that there were many ways we might have handled the situation from both sides. But things aren't that simple. We can figure this out. I promise.”
Her eyes were welling up with tears. Tim's body reacted rather violently to it. He virtually sprang out of his seat, grabbing her in his arms and bringing her to his chest. If witnessing tears shimmer in her eyes could do this to him, what would happen if she was genuinely harmed or separated from him? He couldn't see something like that occurring again, especially now that the twins had strengthened the link between him, Tom, and Maddison.
"Baby, don't cry. We'll work it out," he said quietly, caressing her hair as she clung to him, her heartbeat echoing his.
They remained like that for a long time, and Tim was well aware that it was him who was hesitant to let go, even if she had calmed down. He finally let her draw back a little, but he still kept his hands warm and welcoming around her waist. Her dark eyes drew him in quickly and forcefully, and he took a deep breath while seeing her rose lips part slightly.
"Thank you," she said quietly. "It's for everything." Because you are so understanding. For—”
But before she could continue, Tim's lips were on hers, kissing her passionately and pulling her up onto his knee as he knelt in front of her chair. The loveliest sound he'd ever heard came from her sighing into his mouth as her hands around his neck. To demonstrate to her how much he had missed her and how desperately his body wanted for her, he struggled mightily to resist the impulse to fuck the agony out of her and toss her down on the kitchen counter.
When his tongue slithered into her mouth, she once again tasted like coffee and cinnamon. His fingers pressed into her back as he let out a loud, deep moan, desperately wanting to feel her bare skin against him once again. When Tim heard footsteps in the hallway, they finally parted ways, heaving and wide-eyed.
Acutely conscious of his stiff cock, he quickly placed Maddison back on her seat before sitting himself down. Tim could tell Mary hadn't missed any of this from her happy look when she entered the kitchen carrying the infants on either hip. He wasn't sure if it was the fact that they had just finished kissing and their lips were red, or the fact that they were both breathing more deeply than they should have, but when Mary chuckled with knowledge, he and Maddison both grinned like impolite teens caught in the act.
"So, Mommy and Daddy, are you up for breakfast with your two young men?" Mary inquired, allowing them to continue enjoying their private moment.
Tim offered Reidan his hands and said, "Always. Son, come over here."
On his lips, the words felt exactly right. Exactly as she had.
