Something Different
After learning about Mario's departure, the next day at breakfast, Raphael immediately reprimanded Aurora. In the presence of Tristan and Sophia, the man asked about what was going on between the daughter and her husband.
As is known, Raphael most does not like conflict in his family. Whatever it is, if it can be resolved immediately, then Raphael will do anything to prevent the problem from getting bigger or protracted.
"What exactly happened between you and Mario, Aurora?" asked Raphael after finishing his breakfast.
"Nothing, Pa," Aurora said casually. The woman even looks without the slightest burden enjoying her eating activities.
"Nothing, but why did Mario leave the house?"
Hearing this sentence, Tristan and Sophia reflexively looked up. The two then looked at Aurora's and her father's faces alternately. I really hope someone gives more explanation about what is going on or maybe there is a problem that both of them missed.
"Mario left the house? Exactly what is going on?" asked Tristan with a very serious face. After waiting a few minutes, but no one gave an explanation, he chose to ask his father directly.
"Yes, Tristan," nodded Raphael. "Last night when he came home from overtime, Papa accidentally ran into Mario. Papa was also surprised why he could come home early. Even though we all know the schedule for his return from Liverpool is today."
"And Papa knows what caused Mario to leave?" asked Tristan then.
"Who knows." Raphael took a deep breath. Silence for a while, the man's focus was back on Aurora. "Papa is sure something must have happened until Mario decided to leave here. We all know how patient Mario has been, right?"
"So, Papa accuses me of being the originator of this problem?" Aurora said quickly. The woman immediately showed an expression of dislike for her father. "If Papa wants to know what happened, I'll let you know. So, last night I went to a campus reunion party. Somehow at first, Mario suddenly followed. There, he caught a man trying to kiss me."
"Oh my God. Aurora you really go too far," cried Raphael. Tristan also protested against the woman.
"No wonder Mario got angry, Aurora. You've really gone too far." Tristan shook his head repeatedly. Really did not expect what Aurora did to Mario.
Tristan knew that Aurora really didn't love Mario one bit. But deliberately making out with another man even though her status is still Mario's legal wife, of course that act is too outrageous.
"Why are you all so happy to judge me? Besides, this isn't entirely my fault. From the start you all also knew I didn't love, and wasn't even in the least bit willing to marry Mario, right? So don't overreact to this matter."
"But you've gone too far, Aurora," Raphael continued. "No matter what, Mario is your husband. You should respect his status."
Aurora stopped her eating. Putting the fork that she previously held onto the plate, Aurora finished the remaining orange juice in her glass, then got up and prepared to leave. His appetite suddenly disappeared after almost everyone in the house seemed to blame him for Mario leaving the house.
"It's up to you what you want to talk about, I don't care one bit. Instead of meddling, it's better to mind your own business."
Aurora then left indifferently. Never mind in the slightest with all the advice and words that Raphael and Tristan conveyed to him.
Arriving at the Exon building, Aurora continued her work as usual. Aurora ignores a problem that is clearly currently plaguing her household. She even considers it not important to think about.
In contrast to Tristan, when he arrived at the office, the man immediately called Mario to his room to clarify what was going on. Even though this is actually impolite because it relates to Aurora and Mario's household problems, for some reason Tristan really wants to know. Who knows, he can help solve the problem so it doesn't continue to drag on.
"Mario, what exactly is this?"
"What's the matter, Mister?" asked Mario confused. He really didn't understand where Tristan's conversation was going at this time.
"You and Aurora. What's going on between you? Why do you have to leave the house?"
Mario nodded. He understood what his boss and brother-in-law meant. He thought he was called into the room because he wanted to evaluate his work, but instead he asked about what happened to his household.
"Long if I must tell you, Mister."
"No need to speak formally," said Tristan. "We're alone right now. Talk as usual so you're comfortable. Besides today my schedule is empty, so I have plenty of time to listen to your whole story until it's finished."
he laughed. This was the first time he saw Tristan so eager to know what problems were plaguing his household. It's funny, actually. Because all this time the man was known to be very ignorant and never liked to interfere.
"I know my question and attitude this time was not polite, Mario. I apologize beforehand," continued Tristan. "But somehow, I feel that Aurora must have gone too far for you to decide to leave the house."
"You're right," said Mario. "I caught Aurora almost kissing another man."
From his eyes, Tristan could see that there was a look that was so angry and disappointed that Mario was showing at this time. Everyone will be angry when they see their partner making out or making out with other people. So, it seemed normal for Mario to be angry.
"But I'm just surprised. How did you know that Aurora was out that night."
"It all started when I decided to go home early. I meant to surprise Aurora. Previously, I had called her, and she said that after dinner she wanted to go to sleep. At first I wasn't the least bit suspicious. But when I got home, Samanta gave I know Aurora is away and I don't know with whom. Luckily, during business trips I always ask Alexius to keep an eye on Aurora."
"And that night, Alexius watched Aurora until he finally found out where and with whom he went?" guessed Tristan then.
Mario then nodded. Justify what Tristan said.
"Alexius and I immediately caught up. Arriving at Picadelli, I went straight to the bar where the event was being held. I went around looking for Aurora's whereabouts, until I finally saw her sitting with another man and they almost kissed."
"Good grief!" Tristan exclaimed while shaking his head. He really did not expect that Aurora had done something out of line. "Then what did you do after that?"
"Bring Aurora home of course. Just so you know, she didn't even wear her wedding ring when she went to the party. That means she really doesn't want to be seen as married."
"Then until your house fight?"
I don't know why Tristan's curiosity is so great at this time. She is already very similar to women who often gossip about household matters.
"We had an argument," said Mario. "Essentially, Aurora feels sick of having to live with me. She is also very sorry for being married and even pregnant with my flesh and blood. That's why I decided to leave the house. Who knows, after I left, Aurora could be happy again. Regarding the baby in her stomach, I've already decided when she's born, I'll take her in and take care of her myself. Even if Aurora wants to separate at a later date, I won't have the slightest problem."
"Oh my God, Mario. Are you sure what you say? All of this can be resolved in an amicable way without having to separate. Don't you love your marriage?"
Of course Tristan regrets this. He already felt how uncomfortable it is to be separated after marriage. Tristan believes that Aurora will definitely feel the same way as she did before. They waste people who really love sincerely. After parting, then regret and hope to get back together soon.
"Do you think my patience so far is still not enough?" he asked. "What's a lack of sacrifices? I'm tired, Tristan. I thought everything would change if Aurora got used to living with me. I thought, after living together, she would start loving me. But, in fact, my thoughts were wrong. From the beginning until this moment, Aurora's still the same."
"So your decision is unanimous?" asked Tristan once again.
"I don't know. What is certain, for now I want to be alone. I have promised not to bother Aurora again."
Tristan could only nod. He also didn't know what to say. After all, Mario's decision seems to have been inviolable. But, no matter what, Tristan still prays that the two of them can make up again and in the end live happily.
***
The days just flew by. Aurora could feel how Mario tried his best to avoid even being cold to her.
Even if the two of them accidentally bumped into each other, Mario didn't look away. The man preferred to look straight as if he didn't think Aurora was around.
"You just have to sign the white and light blue sheets. The rest just needs to be approved by Mr. Tristan and also Mr. Raphael."
Even now, for example. When handing over important files to Aurora's office, Mario acted in a professional manner. When finished, the man would definitely leave immediately. There were no spoiled greetings or affectionate words that Aurora often heard like before.
"Is there anything else I should check?" asked Aurora after affixing several signatures to the file Mario handed over to her.
"Nothing. But I have to remind you again, in 15 minutes we have a meeting with a German vendor. I hope you get to the meeting room on time."
After finishing talking, Mario immediately left. Not giving Aurora the slightest chance to answer or respond to what the man had just said.
Sighing lazily, Aurora rose from her seat. Grabbed the tablet, then stepped casually into the meeting room. Today it was he who was scheduled to welcome a client from abroad who wanted to present a cooperation proposal to their company.
As soon as they arrived at the meeting room, Aurora's eyes immediately caught sight of Mario sitting casually chatting with the female client from Germany. Aurora suddenly felt uncomfortable. From the body language that the two of them displayed, it seemed that they were very familiar, not even the slightest bit awkward, like colleagues who had just met. Aurora thought to herself whether her husband had a close relationship with their corporate client this time.
God, Aurora. What are you thinking. So what if Mario is close to another woman? It's none of your business, right?
Ignoring the thoughts floating in her brain, Aurora chose to sit down immediately. Starting to pay attention, then getting lost in the course of today's meeting. He very seriously listened to what was being conveyed by the client who was making a presentation at that time.
A total of 90 minutes of time spent on this meeting. As soon as it was finished, Aurora could see how Mario kindly asked the client named Claudia to leave the room immediately.
It was still clear to Aurora's eyes how her husband walked out while inviting Claudia to talk. And somehow, because of such passionate curiosity, Aurora unknowingly stood up. Stepping slowly, trying to follow from a distance where Mario and Claudia went.
"My God, I didn't expect to meet you here. I thought you were still in Germany."
Currently, Mario and Claudia were standing in the corridor of the exon building which was not far from the elevator. The two of them chatted casually like old friends who had just met.
"As soon as I finished college, I immediately moved to London and stared until now. Besides, why linger in Germany. Didn't you yourself go to America at that time?"
Claudia smiled, then answered back.
"Yes, you know that my father wants me to immediately continue my master's degree in America. In fact, you know that I don't want to part with you."
"You're too much."
Aurora, who was now hiding behind the wall, could see how Mario without the slightest awkwardness ruffled Claudia's hair. In fact, as long as they were married, how had Mario ever behaved like that to him?
Don't be crazy, Aurora. Don't tell me you're jealous. Remember! So far, Mario has always tried to be sweet to you, but you rejected him yourself, right? So, don't be weird if you see your husband being sweet with other women. Do you have the right to be angry? After everything you did to him?
Aurora shook her head repeatedly while patting her ears. Suddenly he felt his own goosebumps, as if a good angel was whispering to make fun of his bad behavior so far.
Watching silently again, Aurora strained her ears again. Just curious what else Mario and Claudia are discussing, now.
"If you have time, I'd like to take you out to dinner. I happen to be in London until the weekend."
"Of course you can. You can arrange a time, Claudia. Or do you want to come over to my apartment?"
"So you live in an apartment now? I thought you lived with Uncle James and Auntie Diana."
"No," said Mario. "You know that I've always been an independent man, right? So I decided to live in an apartment this time."
"In that case, just state your apartment address. Maybe, next Saturday I'll be there to stop by and pick you up for dinner."
"Why can't I just pick you up? It's so weird to be picked up by a woman."
"You are!" Claudia scolded. "Not that I used to do this a lot. It's fine. Besides, I'd like to know where you live. Who knows when I get back to London tomorrow I might be able to stay the night."
Mario then mentioned the address of the apartment he currently lives in to Claudia. He thought, because he wasn't with Aurora, he could freely meet and go with whoever it was.
"Ok, I got your address clear, Calvin. I'll pick you up at the apartment this weekend at seven."
From his hiding place, Aurora looked surprised. He was sure, his ears did not mishear just now.
"Calvin? Since when did Mario change his name to Calvin?"
Aurora was silent for a moment, thinking. As if dejavu with what he just heard.
"No, Aurora," the woman muttered, shaking her head. "There are many names of Calvin in this world. Surely what Claudia mentioned wasn't the Calvin you've been looking for."
"Sure, Claudia," Mario said from a distance. Causing Aurora to wake up and then focus back on watching. "Then see you tomorrow evening."
"Of course. Then I'll say goodbye first," Claudia replied then gave Mario a short hug. "See you letters, Calvin."
After inviting Claudia into the elevator, Aurora could see Mario turning around, intending to return to his room. For fear of being found out, Aurora then hastily avoided by walking first.
Unfortunately, while walking, the toe of the heel of the shoe Aurora was wearing accidentally slipped into the carpet of the building's corridor, causing Aurora to finally sit on the floor.
He who accidentally shouted out of reflex naturally attracted the attention of Mario, who was about to pass by at that time. Aurora thought her husband would come to help. At least reach out, ask to stand up, or whatever the habit that man often does so far to him.
However, Aurora's guess turned out to be wrong. Mario only glanced briefly then walked away. Completely indifferent. Or maybe it was deliberately not considering Aurora's presence, which was clearly sitting on the floor. Mario walked off and walked into his room. Leaving his wife wincing in pain.
