Getting Sick
After the incident of pretending to faint that he did in the office lobby, Aurora was immediately escorted home. With mixed feelings of annoyance mixed with sadness, he lamented his fate in the room.
Sophia, who was at home, immediately amazed. Worried, because he heard from the driver that Aurora had fainted in the office, he wanted to check for himself the woman's condition in his room.
"Aurora..." Sophia called from behind the bedroom door. Occasionally she heard a knock. Hoping Aurora would open the door. "You're in there, right? May I come in?"
For a split second, Sophia didn't get the slightest answer. Increasingly worried, he returned to call the owner of the room. "Aurora, are you all right?"
"I'm fine, Sophia. I want to be alone first. So, please don't disturb me," said the woman from within.
Hearing Aurora's answer, Sophia couldn't force or do anything. He then chose to leave to then continue the activity.
From inside his room, Aurora just sat quietly. Mixed feelings, currently clung to his heart. There is a feeling of anger, hatred, annoyance, towards oneself because it has been stupid all this time to behave badly with Mario.
Aurora knows, the regret that she is currently feeling is completely useless. Mario, who used to love, love, and even adore him, has now turned into a man who doesn't care in the least about his existence. The saying 'when it's gone, you can feel it' might actually be true in Aurora's life, now.
"What else can I do, Lord?" muttered Aurora softly. While slowly laying down his body, without feeling the tears fell from the corners of his eyes. "In what other way can I apologize to Mario so that he will accept me again as before. Or is there no hope for me to be with him anymore?"
All day Aurora laments the fate that befell her. The people at home were even worried about her situation.
In fact, Sophia had been pacing back and forth since earlier, hoping that Aurora would leave the room immediately. From noon, until it was already seven o'clock in the evening, the woman didn't show the slightest sign of wanting to come out of the room.
As a pregnant woman, Aurora needs to eat, drink and get other nutrients. If left alone, what is there will actually endanger the condition of the mother and also the fetus in her stomach.
Meanwhile, Tristan, who had just returned from work, was wondering when he entered the house to see his wife standing in front of Aurora's room, looking confused. Out of curiosity, he immediately approached to then ask directly.
"Actually, what were you doing in front of Aurora's room, honey?" asked the man when he was right behind his wife.
Sophia immediately looked back. Take a step forward to approach Tristan's position while grabbing the briefcase and jacket that the man was carrying.
"I'm just worried about Aurora's condition, Tristan. Since returning from work this afternoon, until this moment she doesn't even want to leave her room. She didn't even eat the lunch that was delivered. And now? It's already dinner time. If she continues hunger strike, I'm worried about the condition of her pregnancy, especially the baby she's carrying."
Tristan listened intently. Understanding what was explained, he then responded.
"Have you tried calling him?"
Sophia nodded.
"I've called her name many times, honey. This afternoon, Aurora did make it clear that she didn't want to be disturbed. But, just now when I called her, she didn't answer at all. I'm worried something will happen to her, Tristan."
Tristan then advanced toward the door of the room. Carrying his hand, the man tried to knock on Aurora's door.
"Aurora... do you hear my voice? Quickly open the door, you have to eat."
For a moment, Tristan and Sophia chose to wait. Hoping anxiously hoping that Aurora would open the door or at least answer their calls.
However, several minutes passed, Aurora did not show any response. Tristan, who had been calm before, was also worried that something would happen to the woman he considered his sister.
"Aurora, please. Are you, okay?"
Still not getting an answer, Sophia could see her husband stepping into the living room. Opening the nightstand, it was clear the man took something inside and then returned to Aurora's bedroom door.
Apparently, Tristan took the spare key to Aurora's bedroom door. Seconds also tried to open and luckily the man's efforts paid off.
Giving a code to Sophia, Tristan asked his wife to hand over the tray of food that Sophia had been holding. Bring him in, to then close the bedroom door tightly.
Sophia knew that her husband must have wanted to have a serious talk with Aurora in there. That's why, he let it go. Give space to both of them to talk privately.
Tristan himself when he entered the room could see Aurora who was lying down. The clothes she was wearing were still the same as the ones she had worn this morning. Tristan believes that Aurora is not feeling well. The proof, when walking closer, the woman did not even respond when called.
"Actually, what's going on, Aurora?" Tristan asked as he sat down on the side of the bed. Putting the tray of food on the nightstand, the man brought his hand to gently rub the arm then grabbed Aurora's wrist. "What are you doing? You don't want to talk to me?"
Aurora looked up. Staring at Tristan, then slowly trying to straighten up. While looking at Tristan's face sadly, unexpectedly the woman then immediately burst into a hug while crying.
"Gosh, Aurora. What's wrong with you?" Tristan wondered while gently stroking Aurora's shoulder. Trying to calm her so that she does not dissolve in her sadness.
For a while, Tristan let Aurora be content with crying for a moment. After the sound of crying began to subside, Tristan believed that Aurora's condition was much better than before. So he took the opportunity to ask a question.
"What is it?" he asked in a gentle tone. Tristan's hand was still outstretched to gently rub Aurora's back repeatedly. "If there's something bothering you, you can tell me as usual. Don't forget, I'm always there when you need me," Tristan said then, stretching his arms.
"Mario..." Aurora muttered softly.
"Yeah? What's wrong with Mario? You guys fighting? Or what's going on?"
"Mario insists on divorcing me, Tristan. What should I do?"
Tristan was neither shocked nor surprised. Hearing Aurora's words, he smiled instead.
"Isn't that what you want? I remember well on your own wedding day, you wanted to get a divorce immediately after the baby in your stomach was born. So? What's wrong if Mario finally grants your wish?"
Aurora exhaled in frustration. For a moment, he cursed his own stupidity for ever boasting and saying nonsense. Now? When God granted his words, there was nothing he could do but regret.
"But now things are different, Tristan."
"Different how else do you mean?"
"I just found out that Mario is the first love I've been looking for."
Tristan pulled his face. Of course he didn't even understand what Aurora meant. Just now the woman talked about first love.
During his life and living with Aurora, he did not know anything about who was his first love and when she first fell in love. Tristan never asked that because he thought it was private that he didn't need to know.
"W-what did you mean just now, Aurora? Mario was your first love? How come? When did you two know each other?" asked Tristan. In the end, he became curious too after hearing what Aurora had said to him.
"Long story, Tristan. In short, Mario was a special friend when I was a teenager. We both liked each other. Yes, although it could be considered puppy love, we really loved each other back then. For one reason or another, we both drifted apart. And Mario promised to look for me when he grew up."
"So Mario kept his promise?"
Aurora nodded.
"Mario did everything he promised. Become thin. Become an established man and most importantly remain loyal to one heart, namely me. But, unfortunately, I broke my promise."
"You mean?"
"You know how I used to be crazy about you, right? In fact, just by focusing my eyes on you, I forgot a promise that I had clearly made myself. In fact, when Mario came, I probably didn't recognize him at all."
"Wait a minute," interrupted Tristan. "Earlier you said Mario promised to be thin?"
Aurora nodded again.
"In the past, Mario's body was big. You could say he was fat. During school, many didn't even want to be friends with him because of his body shape."
"And you were the only one who wanted to be his friend then?"
"Exactly," Aurora said confidently.
"If in the past, when they parted ways, they still said they were fat, it's only natural that I think when they grow up and meet again you don't recognize them."
Aurora sighed. The woman shook her head.
"But still, what I've done so far is unjustifiable, Tristan. You saw for yourself how I antagonized Mario, right? I really regret doing that."
"Then you've tried to apologize."
Aurora then looked sadly. His shoulders slumped down. Followed by his eyes which gradually began to return to tears.
"Don't even apologize. Even giving me a chance to talk, Mario is reluctant."
"Seriously?" asked Tristan with a doubtful tone. He couldn't believe Mario didn't give Aurora a chance to apologize or maybe give an explanation. "Or could it be that apart from this problem, there are other cases that accompany the dispute between the two of you? It just seems odd if Mario is angry because you don't recognize him or because you forgot a promise in the past."
"You're right," Aurora nodded. "Actually, Mario was angry because before, he caught me going to a reunion without permission. And at that time, Mario also saw with his own eyes that one of my male friends I once had a crush on wanted to kiss me. I don't know how Mario got to the party in the first place. What is certain, because of that he was so angry that he wanted to divorce me as soon as possible."
"Gosh, Aurora," Tristan exclaimed then. He finally knew what was the root of the problem between Aurora and Mario. After all, which husband is not angry when he sees his wife making out with another man. "If I were Mario, I would definitely do the same thing. If necessary, I would kill the man you were with at the time."
"I know I made a big mistake. I'm really sorry, Tristan. I don't know what else to do so that everything can go back to normal."
Again, Aurora was crying. Hard to hold back, the defense collapsed again. For the second time, tears unnoticed fell down his cheeks.
Tristan certainly does not have the heart. He grabbed her body and then hugged her. Back calmed down so as not to continue crying like now.
"Never mind. Don't think about it too much. You'll have problems with your baby. Now, you better wash up and eat. Tomorrow, I'll help talk to Mario."
Aurora suddenly looked up. He then looked at Tristan expectantly. Pray also in the heart that the man's efforts can produce results.
"You promise you'll talk to Mario?"
Tristan nodded repeatedly.
"I promise. Tomorrow morning, as soon as I get to the office, I will ask Mario to talk about this. But, I can't promise that he will forgive you soon."
"Yes, I know that," Aurora muttered as she let go of Tristan's embrace.
"Now, I'm going to ask Samanta to help wipe your body. After that, don't forget to have dinner. Or do you want me to feed it?"
Aurora shook her head.
"No need, Tristan. Sophia could get jealous."
Tristan laughed. He knew Aurora was mocking him.
"Then, hurry up and eat. Take good care of yourself for the sake of the baby you are currently carrying."
After making sure Aurora was much better than before, Tristan handed Aurora over to Samantha. Letting her household assistant help Aurora to wipe her body and also change her clothes.
