A hand abruptly grabbed my arm and tugged me toward the house. I turned to see my mate and saw him eyeing the rouge.
"Get inside now." Kaden told me and I frowned.
"Don't tell me what to do." I growled and he bared his fangs.
"Now damnit!" He said and shoved me toward the house. His eyes glared into mine and he looked back toward the fighting before shoving me again.
"Now Amelia!" He shouted and Rain growled in indignation, but reluctantly gave in. I huffed and turned before stalking back towards the house.
I glanced back to see Kaden ripping into the man. A satisfied smirk came to my lips.
There's a rouge! Get it! Rain suddenly snarled and I looked to see a pale gray-white wolf creeping towards the house. It was male and rather small. He was probably young, but a threat all the same. He hid in the shadows, but as I looked on I realized his dull eyes were focused to a point. I followed his gaze and realized with a jolt Nancy was outside.
Her big blue eyes were wide and fearful and with following her gaze as well I saw who her eyes were locked on: Ryan locked in battle with a particularly large rouge.
I looked back at the rouge and growled.
"Nancy move!" I yelled, but the young girl just stood there watching with a scared look, unaware of the danger and seeming to be fixed in a trance.
With a growl I pelted forward and let myself shift. My paws hit the ground with a thud and I raced forward and barreled into the young rouge who yelped and snapped at my leg.
My claws slashed into his pelt and the male yipped and hopped out of range. He bared his fangs at me and suddenly out of nowhere he pulled up and gave me a confused look. His dull eyes sparked with something and I didn't know what to make of his sudden calmness. His tail dropped to a relaxed manner and he tilted his head before offering me a friendly tongue loll.
"Why are you here?" I growled.
The young male licked his chops and spoke in a nonchalant yet playful manner, "You're Luna Amelia, I'm guessing?"
I wrinkled my snout in distaste, "Why are you here?" I repeated in a snarl.
"The Commander said fight. So we fight. But if I'm being honest we were looking for someone." The male gave a wolfish grin and lowered his haunches as he sat and watched me with his dark eyes.
"Who?" I growled and glanced back to Nancy.
Nancy?
What's the child got anything to do this? This is ludicrous. Rain growled inside.
The wolf gave a crazed chuff of laughter. I snapped my gaze back to him.
"Not the kid. How old is she by the way? Twelve, thirteen?" He asked and glanced at Nancy, whom was still watching Ryan, unfazed by our presence.
"Try Eleven." I quipped and the rouges ears perked. He looked to Nancy again and a faint interest shown in his eyes.
"Oh really? She's pretty." The wolf said and I growled. Why were we discussing this?
"She's got a mate." I snapped and the wolf's snout wrinkled.
He glanced at Ryan whom managed to kill the brute he was fighting and the young male's tail twitched a little before he gave a nod.
"Well okay then. So how's everything Luna?" The rouge asked and I growled.
I glanced around at the fighting, "What do you think?" I snarled and took a threatening step towards him, but he only licked his chops before giving his ear and good scratch with his hind leg.
"Oh, Luna, I'm not scared of you." He said and his jaws gaped in a yawn.
"You should be." I growled and he tilted his head.
"Why? Why should I be afraid of you?" The male asked and stood up to stretch. I growled and snapped my teeth at him. He feigned fear.
"You're on my territory threatening my pack, that's grounds for killing you." I barked and the wolf shrugged.
"A true wolf is willing to kill and die for the Commander. I'm not scared." He said and cockily showed me his throat before setting his head leveled again.
"The Commander isn't a true wolf. A true wolf does not attack another pack for no reason. A true wolf doesn't pick the life of a rouge." I snapped and the male bared his teeth and snarled.
"The Commander is more wolf than any of you fleabags ever will be! You do not speak of her like that!" The male howled and soon was lunging on me. Caught of guard, we both tumbled down and I growled as he bit down into my hind leg. I whirled around and grasped his tail in my jaws hearing with satisfaction the male yelp in pain and my leg was released.
I quickly subdued him and he whined as my jaws gripped his neck. I was holding him hard, but not enough to kill him. He used his hind paws to pummel my underbelly and I whimpered as his claws slashed at my skin.
"I thought you weren't scared of dying?" I growled and he snarled softly in respond, but went limp in submission.
I glanced around and saw the rouges retreating and my pack chased them off with howls and barks.
Kaden stalked over and his eyes locked on the young rouge at my paws.
"What's this?" Kaden growled down at the male who showed his fangs in reply. The Alpha did not take kindly to that.
"He said they were looking for someone." I said plainly and my mate nodded curtly. Kaden was bloody, still in human form, but still menacing as ever.
"You're bleeding." Kaden growled and pointed to my stomach. I glanced down and saw my whitish fur stained red.
"I'm fine." I said and Kaden scowled and his eyes darkened.
"Get up." Kaden growled at the rouge. I stepped back and the male got to his paws only to be grabbed by the scruff by the livid Alpha.
"Get yourself cleaned up." Kaden growled to me before dragging the rouge off. Ryan and a few other men followed.
I grabbed Nancy's hand and we went silently inside.
"The tortured hardly speak or speak too much."
Kaden's POV
Blood dripped from the boy's mouth and I wrinkled my nose in disgust. Knight growled at the boy that had attacked our mate.
"Who were you after?" I growled and he smirked softly, revealing red tinged teeth.
"I wanna see the Luna." He said and I punched him again.
"No. You're going to sit here until I get some answers." I growled and the rouge laughed.
"Well, I guess we'll be sitting here, because I want to see the Luna." He said and I gripped his throat.
"You think this is funny?" I spat and the boy smirked.
"A little." He said and shrugged before licking his bottom lip.
"I wanna see the Luna." The asshole kept saying. I shook my head and snarled.
For a while he just sat there smirking before he finally sighed, "Are you that stupid? I was obviously looking for the Luna. Amelia." He swallowed and gave a soft chuckle.
"Why?" I growled.
"Commander wants her." He said and I gripped his throat. His eyes widened slightly, but other than that the boy seemed not to care.
"She's special." He wheezed out and I released him. He slumped to the ground.
"How is she special? What does that mean?" I growled and the boy scoffed. He looked up at me, his eyes glinting.
"One: she's your mate, doesn't that make her special already? And two: well that's kind of classified until I speak to her. She needs to hear it, not you." The boy said and I sneered at him.
"I'll pass it on." I growled and the boy chuckled and shook his head.
"Sorry Dog-breath, but I've gotta deliver the message myself. It'll lessen the blow. After all, it seems that something weird is going on between you two; no offense, but you're probably not the best person to be telling her anything. Ha, mates are so damn complicated." The boy said and gave a short bout of laughter. Knight growled darkly and I scowled.
I frowned and threw him against the wall...
