Chapter 65
Part 65
Samaira had asked me way too many times what was wrong with me, but I didn't answer because I had nothing to say. I was more depressed, and the only thing I was glad for was that my baby was healing. She was on her road to recovery, taking sessions and attending institutes; she was doing everything and handling herself well. I got her a few books to read, which she was reading as well. I am so proud of her; she was and still is the strongest of all.
I've done two songs with him, and it was way too difficult with that creep trying to throw herself on me, and I had a hard time not to pluck out all the hairs from her scalp. She was a girl, and that was her plus point; otherwise, I would've beat the shite out of her.
Right now I was on my way to meet my sasurji (father-in-law) He wanted to meet me, and he was sounding serious as well.
Samaira had left for the design institute with her father's driver because I was too busy with the recordings to drop and pick her up on time.
Knocking at his cabin door, I walked in after getting his reply to find him sitting on his chair, staring at the laptop screen.
"Hello, dad," I said, and he looked up, "Have a seat, Veer," I nodded, and took a seat across from him.
"You've called me all of a sudden. Is anything important?" I asked him quietly.
"What are you doing these days, Veer?" He asked, and my left eyebrow raised in confusion—what type of question was that?
"Um, working with J.V. music," I answered nonetheless.
"Are you something like cheating on my daughter?"His question caught me off guard.
"Wha-what are you talking about?" I rose to my feet; shocked would be an understatement. I was flabbergasted.
"There is nothing to overreact, Veer; just tell me what is going on between you and Jasmine Kapoor." The hell, how did he get to know about it? Damn, Veer, be ready to get killed by Pranit Mehta.
"I asked something," he repeated when he didn't get an answer from me.
Varun Kapoor had threatened me not to tell about this to anyone, and now I was stuck here.
"What is all this?" He threw some photos in front of me, and my eyes widened as if they would come out of theevery time. socket everytime.. The picture shows that I was hugging Jasmine, but it wasn't the case that the mad witch threw herself on me while I was trying to push her.
My tolerance was already at breaking point, and that's what I feared: what if someday I hit that crazy witch, dammit? I didn't want to be known as an abuser.
"This isn't what it looks like," I tried to defend myself.
"You were literally hugging—"
"I was trying to push her," I interrupted, shaking my head in no
He let out a sigh."Veer, if there's something serious, tell me so I can help you," he said again, trying to persuade me to tell the truth.
"I made a mistake by signing the contract with them, and now I am forced" I began after swallowing the lump, "There is nothing going on between me and Jasmine, I am not cheating on Samaira, I could never" I finished and heard him sigh.
"I am not buying your excuse; tell me everything clearly." He commanded, "It's better if I say everything to him; he will be able to help me for sure."
"Jasmine hired men to molest Samaira," and with that, I told him everything, including how they tricked me into signing the contract and everything else.
"Damn those ugly bastards," I heard him muttering, his palms curling into fists as he tried to control himself.
"Varun has threatened me to not tell anything to anyone, but I said everything to you, dad, and I am in deep shit." I shared my dilemma.
"There's no need to worry, Veer; I'm here to help you," he said, giving me hope.
Flashback end...
"Dad, I want to talk to your daughter," I said as I walked behind my father-in-law..
"Why are you so desperate, Veer?" "Do you want sex?" My eyes widened and my steps came to a halt; his words had frozen me.Damn, this old man was so blunt and straightforward.
But he wasn't that old, Sasurji (father in law), and you shouldn't say such things about your daddy (son in law).
"You are being so blunt, okay?" It's not like I just want to talk to her; I trusted you to do everything you said, and now the result is here: your daughter is talking to everyone except me, as if I'm the culprit." "I whined and complained about everything; I was getting angry because my baby wife hadn't talked to me in 36 hours.
"Veer, I told you to give her time." He sighed, which made me stomp my feet in frustration.
"Agreeing with Pranit, you need to give her time," and here comes my father, Madhav Singhania; of course he had to agree with his best friend alone.
"Nahi mtlb aab maine apni jaan le leni hai (Now I've committed suicide, ughh)"I whined...
"Sure, I'll marry off my daughter to another handsome man then," my jaw dropped at my father-in-law's words, and they were all laughing at my misfortune.
"You all are so bad."

"Here, see this," Pranit said to his son-in-law pushing his laptop towards him. "What is it?" Veer fixed his eyes in front of the laptop, watching the video keenly.
"Do you think it would help us?" Veer asked and wasn't sure about it.
"Of course it will," Pranit smirked, pausing the video. "It's clear that Varun's sister is a certified psychopath, based on how she was getting attacked and violent," Pranit added.
"Where did you get the video, Dad?" Veer wondered, trying to connect the dots and understanding Pranit's point about how he would use the video.
"Damad jii (Son-in-Law), your Sasurji (Father-in-Law) knows how to play games as well, so yeah, I hired one of the maids of his house, and she helped me," Pranit explained in short, causing the frown to etch on Veer's face.
"What if Varun got to know about this and fired the maid?" Veer asked, and he had a point: he didn't want anyone to become jobless.
"That's not an issue. If a problem like this arises, then I will help the girl get a job." Veer sighed upon hearing him.
"Now go to J.V. Music and behave calmly, and I know what and when to do."

"Hiii Veer," the voice alone made Veer cringe internally.
He forced a smile. He wished, "Hello Miss Kapoor," and sat down on the couch before she could even hug him.
"I told you to call me Jasmine, you--" He wasn't in the mood to hear her rant, so he chose to interrupt, saying, "I prefer being professional."
"Thank you," Veer said to the boy who finally got him the coffee.
"I was saying Veer—"He already got up and walked out of the recording room to Varun's cabin as he wanted to have a talk with him, and wasting time hearing Jasmine's rant was the least thing he would do in this cruel yet beautiful world.
He knocked, then walked in to find Varun sitting on his chair doing something on his laptop. "Yes, Veer, anything important?"
"I've already finished recording the three songs, and there's only one more before I get paid."Veer came to the point without beating around the bush.
Varun's eyes were fixed on the laptop screen as he typed, then he looked up "done" and said it.
"25 lakhs are sent to your bank account, and I will be sending the remaining 15 lakhs after the recording of the last song." He completed his sentence.
"Ok, then I should leave." Thanking Varun was something Veer would never do, and there was no point of appreciating him when he was the villain of his life.
"Leave? "Spend some time with her sister and make her feel good." Veer's palm curled into a fist.
"In the contract, it clearly states that you are paying me 10 lakhs for each song, and about your sister, there's nothing written there, so kindly spare me." Varun laughed at his words and got up from his seat.
"You want more money?" "I don't have any problem paying you in crores. I will make you a big star. All you need to do is stay, marry my sister, and divorce Samaira." Veer was controlling himself; he couldn't go wild and violent on Varun because he knew Pranit was planning something to take him out of this mess.
"You are pathetic," he uttered, and left.
Flashback end..
Veer was deep in thought when his phone rang, and he quickly grabbed it, thinking it was Samaira, but his excitement was short-lived when the caller id revealed to be a spam number.
He was about to throw his phone away when he controlled himself and sat down, staring at Samaira's smiling picture. He wanted to talk to her and hear her voice desperately.
