Chapter 133 Refresh Everything
“Kianna! Wait!” Madam Buenavista shouted, but Kia didn’t even dare to look back and just kept on walking away.
Madam Buenavista couldn’t stop her. She started to feel worried about it and immediately called one of her maids. “Call my son and tell him to find Kianna right away. This is an urgent matter, so do it immediately.” Madam Buenavista ordered.
“Yes, Madam…” The maid said and immediately left to make the order done.
ARES
"Let's get started. Today's meeting is being held so that we can talk about ways to increase sales in more rural market areas. To begin, let's review the report that was presented at the most recent meeting, which took place on November 24. Now it's your turn, Kyle; have at it! I said.
Kyle got to his feet and made his way to the front. "I am in your debt, boss. Permit me to briefly summarize the most important points discussed at the most recent meeting. The first order of business was to give our stamp of approval to the revised sales reporting system that had been discussed on May 30. Following a speedy run-through of the modifications that are going to be implemented, we moved on to a brainstorming session regarding enhancements to the customer support system. On the photocopies that are currently sitting in front of you are copies of the primary concepts that were developed and discussed during these sessions. At 11.30, it was decided that the meeting would no longer continue.
"Thank you, Kyle. Therefore, if there is nothing else that we need to talk about, let's move on to the agenda for today. Have you all been provided with a copy of the schedule for today? I would like to skip item 1 and move on to item 2, which is the improvement of sales in rural market areas, if that is okay with you. Jack has very graciously agreed to provide us with a report regarding this matter. Jack?”
"Before I start working on the report, I'd like to hear some suggestions from all of you. What are your thoughts on the possibility of rural sales in your sales districts? I propose that we go around the table first to get everyone's input on the matter. Jack murmured something in the front.
My new business partner and I are in the middle of a meeting when suddenly one of my employees murmurs something to me.
"Your mother wanted to talk to you, Boss. She was giving you orders to find your wife right away, and she also stated that this is an emergency. She spoke in a low voice.
I finally got up, which made everyone else very uncomfortable. They were all staring at me with expressions of perplexity on their faces. After clearing my throat, I started speaking and said, "Excuse me, but I have an urgent matter that requires my immediate attention. In any case, both the presentation and the ideas are strong points. When I go back, I hope to be able to find out more. Please, Kyle, take care of a favor for me and keep this meeting going."
"You got it, boss."
I acknowledged him with a nod and then quickly exited the room. When I was on my way out of the building, I noticed someone who looked familiar. She did not move at all, giving the impression that she was already aware that I was looking for her. I rushed to her side and looked at her with concern as soon as I got there.
"What on earth happened, hun? Mom told me I need to find you as soon as possible. Did something bad happen—-"
"Ares, tell me the truth," she pleaded. Kia mumbled something as she looked at me with a dumbfounded expression on her face.
"What—what exactly are you trying to say, hon? Are you okay? You haven't been eating much, have you?" I was going to say something, but then she interrupted me once again.
"I have to know the truth. Now.”
Why does she appear to be so solemn at the moment? Undoubtedly, something took place... What sort of reality is she referring to, and does she already be aware of it? But how can it be?
"Hon, I don't understand—"
"What is it that you just don't get, Ares? All I want to know is the complete and unadulterated truth. I don't want to hear more lies from you. I want to know the truth! — Why did you continue to keep things a secret from me? I thought you loved being with me? I thought you wanted to spend the rest of your life with me?" She yelled, "But why do you keep on destroying my trust?!!" and as a result, she ended up losing control of herself and started crying.
I moved closer and gave her a hug before continuing. She began to push me away, but I refused to give in and let her go. “Shhhh…. It's okay… You are free to punch me a million times if that is what you want to do. I should be punished for being dishonest with you, but if you'll believe me, Kianna, I did all of this for both of us..."
She took a momentary break from punching me and started laughing instead. "What a joke… You did that for me, didn't you? Is it true that telling me lies this whole time would be for the best interest of me?" She inquired while attempting to push me away. Because it was so hard, I finally gave in and let her go. "Are you even aware that I have begun to have serious doubts about everything right now? The things that you promised, the things that you said... I was at a loss for what to believe at that point... Does this mean you lied every time you told me you loved me?"
“NO! Of course not! When I tell you that I love you, I do so with all of my heart, hon."
“Really?”
“Yes!” I did respond.
"If you're going to say that, show it to me. I am sorry, but I will not be able to talk to you at this time for reasons that I do not fully understand. I need some time alone. I have to stop and collect my thoughts. I'm so confused. Ares, please give me a little bit of time. I am leaving for Australia tonight, and I am begging you to not follow me or beg me to stay..."
"You're leaving?? Ho-hon, please hold on! We could talk about this first. It is not necessary for you to leave." I said to her while still holding her hand and pleading with her to stay.
"Ares, my decision is irrevocable. This is not your never-ending deception that I am growing to believe; rather, it is for my own good. I am not going to ask you to wait for me because even I do not know if it is possible for me to come back at this point. I'm going to take it easy on myself for the time being. This year has been one of the most trying periods of my life. It sounds like I need to give everything a new look. I don't know if this is a goodbye, but if it is, then I hope I will be able to forgive you for everything."
