Chapter 6
It's morning time, I was in the kitchen making some breakfast for me, Rose, and Vincent. Rose sat at the table drawing in her book.
Vincent walked into the kitchen "Hey Princess." He kissed Rose on the forehead.
"Hi, Daddy."
"So I was thinking me and you could go to the park today and stay there for a few hours then go to get some ice cream." He bent down next to her.
"Can Maya come too?"
"I was actually going to bring along Sabrina."
"Sabrina? I don't like her."
I almost laughed but stopped myself.
That's crazy that not even a six-year-old likes her. Shows what type of person she is.
"Why don't you like her honey?"
"Because she's rude to me, she yells at me all the time!"
"She yells at you when?"
"She yells at me telling me to go to bed and she yells at me when I ask for ice cream and cookies after dinner, she's mean to me" Rose looked like she was about to cry.
"Princess, I don't think she means to yell at you."
I rolled my eyes.
I don't get how he could try to defend her when she's a bad person. He told me earlier that his wife didn't love him and only used him for his money, Sabrina is basically doing the same shit and it sucks that he doesn't see that. It's pretty clear she doesn't love him.
"But she does yell at me." Rose responded.
"Okay, she doesn't have to come along. I'll speak to her about that later." He stood "Maya, do you mind coming along with us to the park?"
"Of course, I'll come, anything for Rose." I kissed her on the forehead and she smiled.
I finished making breakfast for us, I put some on plates and we sat down and began to eat.
**********************************
It was about two hours later, We had just arrived at the park.
"We're just gonna be over here on the bench, so go have some fun with the other kids." Vincent smiled.
"Okay!" Rose ran off, me and Vincent sat down on the bench.
"So Maya, how are you?"
"I'm fine. How about you after our talk?"
"I'm fine. talking to you about things made me feel way better. And I like that you were honest with me about everything, most people would lie."
"Yeah, I'm just an honest and real person."
He smiled "I see that."
"And since I'm so honest I feel like I should be honest with you about Sabrina. I know this is none of my business but I feel like she's with you for the wrong reasons. I don't think she's interested in you and I think she just wants to use you like your ex-wife did. So please, keep an eye out for her and don't trust her."
He sighed "I guarantee she's not like my ex-wife, she's way different. Me and her have been in love for 2 years, I don't think she's that kind of girl. I thank you for your concern but I don't think you should be worrying about my relationship with anyone, you should just be worrying about your duties as a nanny."
"You're right, I'm sorry."
Well damn, all I was trying to do was help. But you can't help people who don't want to be helped.
Rose ran over to me "Can you push me on the swing please Maya?"
"Of course." She grabbed my hand and brought me towards the swings, She sat and I started pushing her high. She giggled at how high she was going "Okay, slow down!"
I slowed her down a little bit "Maya, can I ask something?"
"Yes, Rose?"
"Can you promise me that you won't leave me like my mom?"
My heart hurt for her, A 6-year-old shouldn't have to go through that kind of pain.
"Rose, I promise you I'm not going anywhere." I leaned in.
"Pinky promise?"
"I pinky promise." We locked our pinkies together.
The more that I take care of Rose, the more I want a daughter of my own. I know that I'm still young and I shouldn't be thinking of having children at 23 years old, but I do want a baby.
I pushed her on the swings for a while then she ran to the slide, she wanted me to go down with her so I did. We played around in the park for about an hour, she decided to go play tag with a couple of little kids so I sat back down.
It was pretty quiet for a while, Vincent finally spoke up "I see the way you're with Rose, I thank you for that. Ever since her mom left she hasn't really been as happy as she's been with you."
"You're welcome. I enjoy taking care of Rose, she's an awesome and smart little girl, and she's honestly the best kid I've ever babysat before. Even though I enjoy my job I'm happy that I don't have to clean up lots of messes." I laughed.
"Yeah." He chuckled.
His phone began to ring, I peeked down at it and saw Sabrina was calling. He answered, "Hey baby." He stood and walked off.
It just sucks because he's a smart guy, he should realize that he's being used by Sabrina.
He returned a couple of minutes later and sat back down "Sabrina was just calling because she wanted to come over and have dinner."
"And what did you say?"
"I told her sure."
"Oh."
Ugh, I don't wanna see her.
***********************************
It was later on around 7:00 pm, I'd just finished getting dressed for dinner. For some reason Vincent wanted me to be there, I guess for Rose.
I walked into the kitchen and there was a chef inside there cooking dinner. Vincent was sitting down at the table in a grey suit, looking sexier than ever.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey." He smiled.
"You went all out for dinner tonight."
"I didn't feel like cooking, so yeah."
I sat down next to him "So what time is Sabrina supposed to get here?"
As soon as I said that there was a knock, I heard the door open and a few seconds later she entered the kitchen/dining room.
"Hey, baby." She walked over to him and kissed him.
"Hey."
"I didn't know that Maya was joining us." She looked disappointed "I just wanted it to be me, you, and Rose."
"Well she's here for Rose." m
"Okay." She shot me a disgusted look and then sat down.
"Food is done, sir." The chef said.
"Okay, thank you."
"Can you go make sure Rose is ready?" Vincent said.
"Okay." I stood and left the table, I walked upstairs to Rose's room, her door was open and she sat at the end of her bed playing with her teddy bear.
"Rose, dinner is ready and we're waiting for you downstairs."
"I don't wanna go to dinner."
"Why not?" I walked towards her.
"Because, Sabrina is gonna be mean to me again."
"No, she's not, I won't allow her to. Let's just go have some dinner and after you can have some ice cream and cookies, okay?" I held my hand out.
"Okay." She grabbed my hand, She followed me out of the room and downstairs into the kitchen/dining room. I took my seat and Rose sat down next to me.
"Okay, now can we eat?" Sabrina said.
"I made some creamy mashed potatoes with stuffed salmon and some asparagus." The chef set plates of food down in front of us all.
"Thank you, Daryl." Vincent wrote a check for him "You can go now."
"Thank you, sir." He grabbed his things and left.
"So, how's school Rose?" Sabrina asked.
"It's fine." Rose said.
"What do you like the most about school?" Sabrina smiled.
"I don't know." I could tell Rose didn't wanna talk to her much.
"Okay... Well Rose, how do you feel about spending a day with me alone? Would you like that?"
"I guess." Rose ate her food.
"Vincent." Sabrina called his name.
"Um, Rose darling."
"Yes, Daddy?"
"Sabrina just wants to spend some alone time with you, that's all. And she also has something else to say, right?" He looked at Sabrina.
"Yes, Rose I'm sorry if I ever yelled at you. I didn't mean to be rude to you, and I'm sorry you felt that way."
"Okay." Rose replied.
"And I don't wanna hear that she's being yelled at by you again. I love you but I'm her father, If you got a problem you come to me."
"I'm sorry baby." She said.
Oh please, she's only apologizing because she wants to keep spending more of Vincent's money. She doesn't mean that shit.
"Well anyways, baby, I was thinking me and you could go on vacation to Cancun tomorrow," Sabrina said.
"I can't baby, I'm gonna be here with Rose."
"You're always here with Rose, we barely get any alone time together."
"Actually he's not. I've been here for a few weeks and I haven't seen them both together that much, so let him spend some time with his daughter." I spoke up.
I didn't wanna say anything but she was irritating me. Knowing damn well that Rose doesn't spend that much time with her father because of him working most of the time.
"Sorry but this is between me and Vincent, know your place."
"I don't care. I can speak up about something whenever I want."
"Both of you stop." Vincent said.
"I'm sorry." I stood "I think I'm just gonna go have my dinner inside my room." I grabbed my plate and fork and walked off.
I can't even stand to be around her another second, she's just so fucking annoying and disrespectful.
