Chapter 70: The Dream
Ben pulls in the driveway as Samantha watches the baby take her first steps. "Hurry, she's starting to walk!" She yells out the door and sees him running to them. His face is full of love and the sun shines brightly on it as he enters the door. He picks up their little one and spins her around as he gives her kisses all over her chubby cheeks.
"I love you so much sweetheart. Daddy's proud of you!" He hands her to Samantha and then hugs them both. After she puts the baby down Ben grabs her chin and angles her mouth up to his as he takes her lips hungrily. "I have missed you so much, it hurts."
"Wow, daddy must really love us." She says as she looks down at their little one who is attempting to walk again. She doesn't quite make it and scraps her knee. She starts crying and Samantha scoops her up in her arms. "There, there. It's o.k." She looks to make sure that she's not bleeding.
"Oh, let daddy kiss the boo boo." He says as he holds his arms out to take her.
"Well, you know she is bound and determined to get hurt. She is just like her daddy." Samantha laughs and hands her to Ben.
He hugs her and kisses her forehead, then puts her in her play pen. Ben turns to Samantha and pulls her to his chest. "As for you. I have been waiting far too long to do this." He takes her lips into his and forces her to open her mouth as his tongue thrusts into her.
His hands wander over her firm ass and then up to her back where he sneaks under her shirt and unclips her bra. His fingers find her nipples hard and swollen as she awaits his attention. He takes a nipple between his first finger and thumb and pinches hard as he rolls it. Her panties become wet, and she feels him stiffen up against her.
The smell of sex is in the air as he commands her full attention. "Tell me, did you miss me and need me?"
She barely can get out a "Yes." He pinches her nipple harder, and her breathing becomes rough as he slides one hand down her chest to her skirt. Down to the hem and his hand finds the heat between her legs. He pushes aside her panties with a finger and slides it in after rubbing her swollen clit.
"That's how I like it. Dripping wet for me, so hot. He drops to his knees and forces her down on the couch behind her, then he slides her skirt up and pulls down her panties. He looks at her with those demanding eyes that tell her he wants to eat her now.
"Please." She begs in a whisper. She looks over her shoulder to where the play crib was and it's not there. Panic shoots through her as she stiffens. Then she looks down and realizes he's not there either. She wakes up and cries out into the still room. Kelly rushes in and sees her as she bolts up on the bed.
"Are you O.K? What happened?"
Samantha starts to cry but tells her, "I had the most real dream I have ever had, and it was about Ben and my baby. I could have sworn it was real. I'm even wet." She says as she feels the moist cloth between her legs.
Kelly holds her quietly trying to think what to say. "It is o.k. remember when John died, I had a lot of nightmares. It is your minds way of dealing with what has happened to you. I bet if you give it a week you will find that you stop having them every night and then eventually, they will stop all together, but it does take time."
Her eyes focus on the wall as she tries to stop crying. She was going to paint the baby's room the same color as their bedroom, but now there is obviously no need. Kelly takes her hands and pulls her up onto her feet.
"Come on. Let's go out to eat for supper. You missed lunch and I bet your hungry." Kelly finds her purse and pulls out the keys.
"Fine. Let me grab my jacket."
As Kelly drives to town Samantha stares out the window and finds herself wondering if she will ever get over Ben. This heartache is unbearable, and she just wants to disappear into the night, then she wouldn't hurt anymore.
When they arrive at the restaurant it is completely packed, and a line has formed outside. Samantha looks hesitant and tells Kelly, "I want to go somewhere else, it's too busy. I don't feel like being around so many people tonight. O.K?"
"Yeah, no problem. Let's go." They finally decide on the pizza joint down the street. It's cozy and there aren’t too many people there tonight.
"Wow, I guess everyone decided to go to Johnson's tonight. This place is pretty much a ghost town." Samantha looks around and finds them a good table out of the way. When they sit down Kelly starts to smile at someone behind Samantha.
"What or who on earth are you smiling at. You look like a Cheshire Cat."
Samantha turns too late and catches a glimpse of Jonathan as he looks her way. He instantly smiles and makes his way to their table. "Hey, fancy meeting you here." He smiles so handsomely and then casts a quick glance at Kelly. "I see you brought reinforcements. What's your name?" He asks casually while he returns his attention to Samantha.
"I'm Samantha's big sister Kelly. It's nice to meet you. I saw you last night drop off the pizza at the house.”
"Yeah, I have delivered there many times before but never saw the two of you there. Did you just move in? Before it was always a gentleman who answered the door."
Kelly quickly says, "Oh, you mean Ben. That is Samantha's late husband. He just passed away a couple weeks ago." Worried that she might upset her Kelly didn't say much more.
He looks at Samantha and stuffs his hands in his jean pockets. While he stands there, he looks down at the ground now, "Oh, I'm deeply sorry. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories. Is there anything I can do for you? I would certainly like to try."
Kelly sees the yearning in his eyes start to smolder as he looks at Samantha thoughtfully. It is soon replaced with sadness.
"Well, first of all you can get us a large Hawaiian stuffed crust. With two Buds." Kelly smiles at him and then returns her attention to Samantha who looks like a ghost.
"O.k. Sure. On one condition. Samantha, will you go out to the movies with me tomorrow night? I just want to see a smile on that beautiful face. Please."
She looks at him thoughtfully, "I guess. I mean yes. As long as you don't expect for anything to happen. I'm not looking for someone."
"Alright, I can accept that. I just want to be able to be your friend. In the meantime though the pizza will be out in about ten minutes."
He goes into the kitchen and gives the order to the cook, then he sits back behind the front counter so he can watch them talk to each other. He wonders what it will take for her to heal and want to be with him. He certainly won't push and will remain her friend until she is ready. After all, she's worth it. He can feel it in his soul, the connection between the two of them is nothing he has ever felt before with anyone.
When the pizza is done, he brings it out and serves a piece to Samantha and then Kelly. He hands them some napkins and their drinks, and then finds his way back to the counter to continue watching her. What is it about this woman? He finds himself wondering. He has never been one to be so forward, but he wants her with all of his being. She is different. She belongs with him.
