❤️ My Hostage (Part 11) ❤️
"Me?" Emera asked, pointing at himself with surprise. "I don't drink."
"Yes you Uncle Emera and you drink. I didn't believe her until I saw you myself and you saw the bandages around you, that are the wounds inflicted on you by those you were owning. If fact that was why I had brought you here, you fainted."
"That's impossible."
"Once Rumi comes you can ask her yourself or better still ask Rose," Storm said.
"I don't drink," Emera insisted. "I drink though but not to the intent of getting drunk and allowing people to beat me up like I am a five?"
"Rumi said it's all the time and that you started drinking after Juno's death," Storm said. "And that is also the reason why Rose took your position as the Warlord and gave it to a man called Marcus."
"What?"
"That is what we heard, from Rumi and from Rose also."
Not arguing again, he nodded his head. "So how is your father?" He asked instead, surprising Gwen.
"Oh I jumped that part," Strom said. "He is also dead."
"He was murdered too?"
"No, he died of a strange illness, he was the first to die though before my father." Storm explained.
"So when am I meeting Juno? I still don't believe she is still alive until I see her with my eyes."
"That can be easily arranged, can you stand and walk on your own Uncle Emera?" Storm asks and Emera stood up from the bed, careful not to make himself bleed. Storm was at his side immediately and put his arm around Emera's shoulder and slowly they walked towards the door. Gwen opened the door for them to pass and close it behind her as she followed them.
"Gwen, did your father tell you anything before his death?" Emera asked her.
"No, he did not."
"Oh, they left the hard work on me." Emera grumbled out.
"Was he supposed to tell me something?" Gwen asked.
"Yes, but we will discuss that another day, Gwenevere," Emera said with a slight smile. "And you Storm, have you harnessed your gift well?"
"Yes."
"Is it disturbing you?"
"Disturbing me as how?" Storm was confused about the sudden interest in his gift from the once former Warlord of Ashland.
"Like, is your power pushing you to do something.....evil to others?"
"I don't know why I will use my power for evil but no Uncle Emera."
"Good, that means your father didn't tell you anything too and neither did her own father, right?"
"No, why the sudden questions, Uncle Emera. Is there a secrecy my father is keeping away and only you know that? Is Gwen and I related?"
Laughing out a bit as they pass some guards who greet and acknowledge Emera with respect. "No, Gwen is not related to you I mean I would know that. I thought.... anyway forget it, it's not important. It's even better that way as long as nothing goes wrong."
"Nothing goes wrong? As how?" Both Gwen and Storm ask at the same time.
"Like I said, forget it," Emera said as they approached the prison.
Kira heard the approaching footsteps, she was sitting down on the floor and seeing Gwen first she snorted loudly.
"Why are you here again? Can't a girl no longer rest?" she asked, turning her back, blocking Gwen from her sight.
"Juno," Emera's voice was heard as it almost broke into tears. "That's Juno, she is alive." he added as he came to stop in front of her cell.
"I have told you multiple times that I am not Juno," Kira said in anger as she stood up from the ground and turn around to glare at the person that called her Juno. "My name is not Juno, my name is Kir-" she paused as she looked at the face which was slowly getting familiar to her. She knew him. She recognized him immediately.
"Juno, don't you remember me? It's me, your-"
"Father," Kira said closing her eyes, caressing her forehead as a building headache slowly began to form. Flashes of memories began to build behind her close eyes. "You are my father." She added opening her eyes to look at Emera.
"Kira, what are you saying?" Kando asked. "What did you do to her?" his question was directed at Storm who ignored him.
"My, my, my name is Juno and not Kira." She finally agreed to the name that they have been calling her. "You gave me that name," she added as she approached her father. Emera also stretches out one of his hands to touch Juno's face. It was real, solid real. "I remember you father." she said leaning in to his touch.
"Thank goodness Juno, so you remember me too, right?" Storm asked with his hope high.
Staring at him for a while, "I don't remember you," she said, crushing Storm hope.
"You don't remember Storm? He was your friend before he left Ashland to the Garden of Edenis. You remember when you injured him and you denied that you didn't and that made me slapped you?" Emera said, trying to make Juno remember Storm.
"I don't remember any of those parts, father, I only know that you are my father. I haven't met him before, I'd remember his face."
Trying not to show his hurt on his face, Storm nodded his head in pretense. "At least she remembered you, Uncle Emera," he said.
"I still can't believe that you are alive, I buried you."
"You buried me? I am here isn't it?" Kira asked in surprise, Storm doesn't know if she was acting or serious but she was succeeding.
"Yes and that is why I am surprised. Your sister, Rumi, told me you were attacked and," Emera paused. "You remember Rumi don't you?"
"I don't remember Rumi."
"Don't worry, with time you will surely get to remember everything and everyone again," Emera said. "You remembered me so we will give you more time."
"What happened to you?"
"Oh, I was told I became a drunkard after I thought you died."
"That's what Rumi said." Storm chips in and fails to see the sudden flash of anger on Kira's face which was gone. "He is just waking up now."
"Okay, go and rest father, with your wounds, standing should be the last thing you are doing."
"I am happy seeing your face Juno so the pain isn't my problem."
"She is right Uncle Emera, you will get to talk to Juno one on one," Storm said. "Let's leave so that I can send a word to Rumi that you are finally awake and also to let you meet Rose."
"Okay," Emera finally agreed and let go of Kira's face and leaned on Storm's body for support and they left the prison.
All these while Kando watched and when they finally left he turned his doubting eyes on Kira.
"You were joking about knowing him as your father, right?" Kando whispered.
"No Kando, he really is my father," Kira said as she stared at their retreating figures.
"That won't stop us from doing as planned and leaving here, right Kira?" Kando asked again.
"Change of plans Kando, we are not killing anyone and don't worry, I will make sure we don't stay in this cell anymore."
"Why are we not killing them? We are wasting more time by being here." Kando demanded in surprise. He wasn't expecting from Kira.
"I said we are not killing them and if you by any chance or by slight mistake touch a single hair from their head, I will kill you myself." Kira warned with seriousness.
"What changed, is it because you suddenly found your father?" Kando said with raised brows. "If it is so then don't worry, we are taking him along. I will carry him."
"Leave my father out of this Kando."
"And how do you intend to change their mind about us staying in this cell? I feel like a caged bird, Kira, I want to fly."
"We will get out of this cage and you will fly Kando, just trust me on this one."
"You were only pretending right, you remembered everything don't you?" Kando asked with a lopsided smile.
"Every single damn thing," Kira said with gritted teeth. "She killed my mother and made me look as if I was the one that hurt Storm. She killed me and made my father's life like this. I am going to make sure she pays. I am going to hurt her and this time around she won't know what hit her together with her magic."
