CHAPTER 36: PLAN
Maxine and Sofia agreed to meet at a coffee shop near Sofia's condo. Maxine has been nagging Sofia about this for a while, but Sofia has consistently rejected her. This is because Sofia has a lot to do and does not trust Maxine. She knows that Maxine is Chelsea's sister. Sofia only agreed to meet Maxine today because Maxine insisted on meeting. Maxine had no choice but to meet with Sofia because no matter how hard she tried to avoid it, Sofia really pestered her.
Maxine was quietly waiting for Sofia's arrival. She arrived early so that she could talk to Sofia. Soon, Sofia arrived and immediately recognized Maxine because of the way she looked at her. When Sofia approached her, she sat down in front of Maxine and the waiter approached them. "A cup of Blue Mountain with milk, please," Sofia said to the waiter.
The waiter nodded and left to get Sofia's order. Sofia looked at Maxine, who was smiling from ear to ear even though they hadn't talked about anything yet. "Ms. Maxine Deine Garcia, the younger daughter of the Garcia Family, right?" Sofia asked Maxine.
Maxine just stared at her and leaned her hand on the table and smiled at her. A smile that you know means mischief. "You have been pestering me for a week, what do you need from me?" Sofia asked Maxine directly.
Maxine quickly straightened herself up. "Ms. Silvestre, you are really beautiful in person..." Maxine said and did not answer Sofia's question. Maxine sighed, "Thank you for the compliment but I have an appointment in a little bit, so please get to the point. I don't have all day to waste on this kind of conversation, Ms. Garcia." Sofia said seriously.
Maxine chuckled softly at what Sofia said. "Ms. Silvestre, shouldn't you be grateful that I'm talking to you today? I don't have all day to talk to you either, but if you're that eager, I might change my mind and not include you in my plans. You're the one who will be missing out." Maxine said, causing Sofia to furrow her brow.
"If you brought me here just to waste my time, then I will be taking my leave." Sofia said angrily and stood up to leave. Before she could even go far, Maxine spoke again, causing Sofia to stop in her tracks. "That's a shame. It looks like you really need my help. I feel sorry for you because of your situation..." Maxine said.
Sofia turned to Maxine, "What do you mean?" She asked, frowning.
"Well... Who is Chelsea compared to you? You're so beautiful, wealthy, educated, from a well-known family in the country, but why did Mr. Buenavista marry her? Isn't that embarrassing? I don't know if I'm the only one feeling embarrassed for you, but if I were in your position, I would definitely be embarrassed. A nobody stealing the man you've been hoping for?" Maxine said mockingly. This immediately caught Sofia's attention. She angrily approached Maxine.
"Ms. Garcia, I didn't come here to be pitied and have these things pointed out to me!" Sofia said angrily. Maxine seemed unfazed and remained seated calmly. "Ms. Silvestre, why don't you sit down first and then we can talk." Maxine said, pointing to the seat in front of her.
Sofia had no choice but to sit down. Soon, her coffee order arrived. "Help yourself." Maxine said as she handed the coffee she ordered to Sofia.
"So... Where were we again? Oh right! So Ms. Silvestre, do you want to win over Mr. Buenavista?" Maxine asked, smiling.
It's true that there's a rumor of a heated argument between the Garcia siblings. If you look at it, I might even be planning on becoming her ally. Maxine thought to herself as she slowly took sips of her coffee.
"Hmm, maybe yes and maybe no... Why? Do you have some sort of magic or witchcraft that you'll use to do that?" Sofia asked quietly and placed her coffee on the table and looked at Maxine.
"Well... I don't have any of those but I can help you separate them. If we're talking about how you can get Red Chandler Buenavista, that depends on your ability, Ms. Silvestre."
Sofia was taken aback by what Maxine said and immediately thought about it. She was unsure whether she should believe what Maxine was saying. "Why should I believe you? How do I know if this is just a trap to help your sister? After all, you're still related by blood..." Sofia said, crossing her arms.
"I hate Chelsea, I hate her enough that I want her dead, isn't this reason enough for you to trust me?" Maxine countered. Sofia did not answer and just stirred her coffee. When Maxine didn't get a response, she spoke again. "The person I loved the most just disappeared like a bubble because she took him from me. When we were young, she was always better at everything, she always got what she wanted. So as long as she's here, breathing the same air as me, I feel like I can't breathe properly. Making her life miserable and causing her suffering is the thing I want the most." Maxine said, smiling.
Sofia just nodded at what Maxine said. "How would you be able to help me?" She asked. Maxine quickly grabbed her phone and seemed to be searching for something important.
When she found what she was looking for, she showed it to Sofia. "This man, his name is Mark Randel Chua, originally he was her boyfriend, my ex." Maxine said while holding her phone with a picture of Mark and Chelsea on it.
"They made it seem like I stole Mark from Chelsea, but the truth is he really took me away. Mark has had feelings for me since we were young. But everything disappeared like a bubble when he started flirting with and taking away what was rightfully mine because of that woman's simple words. Isn't that woman charming? It's clear she's used to stealing, I guess it's not surprising since she inherited it from her mother who was forcibly taken by a demon." Maxine said, allowing Sofia to look at all the pictures of Mark and Chelsea from before.
"They took away my love and just left me alone, hurting me... So, that's why I want them to suffer while they're alive!" Maxine said.
"How are you going to do that?" Sofia asked curiously. Maxine's expression suddenly changed and she returned to her sly smile. "The question is, are you willing to do everything in my plan?" The two stared at each other as if they were forming a connection in their minds.
"I'll do everything, as long as Red is gone! I'll help you with all your plans as long as you make sure we can separate them," Sofia answered, which immediately brought a smile to Maxine's lips. "Well then, here's the plan..." Maxine said before whispering to Sofia what she had planned.
