Mother Superior
Jenna/Sr. Claire
On the next day, I was sitting in my room meditating when my mother came inside unannounced. "I am sorry to interrupt you," she said.
"Anything I can help you with?"
She shook her head no and came to sit beside me. "I don't know if you still remember or even want to know it. Your sister has a pup. Ken, her mate took him away when Sophie died." I raise my brow.
"Nephew?" I question and she nods her head yes.
"I do visit them sometimes but ever since you came I haven't. Today I am going to see him at the Nightfall Pack, and I just wanted to know if you want to come with me."
I try to blink my eyes. This is another shocking news that I did not remember. Taking deep breaths, I stood up and try to calm myself. When I am calm, I said, "I want to see him if that's okay with you?"
"Thank you, Jenna," she raised her hand to touch me, but I step back. I may have forgiven her but there is a boundary between us. She looked taken a back for a moment she looks sad before she covers it with a smile.
"Call me when it's time to leave," I said, and she nods her head.
When it's time to go Shawn drove us to the Nightfall pack and when we arrived, he jumps out of the car. He talks to the warriors who seem to do their link communication.
They all look at me and I awkwardly wave at them. Shawn turns back to us and gets in the car. "We're good to go," he said and drive the car through the gate.
Nightfall Pack looks small, but it feels peaceful and homey. The car stopped at a small blue house. It looks beautiful. I nervously get out of the car and went to knock on the door. My mother followed behind me. I ring the doorbell twice and the door opens.
"Ken" I look at my sister's ex-mate. Gosh, it has been so long. He is surprised to see me. "I heard from Mrs. Harrison that I have a nephew" I try to smile.
"Dad" a young boy with jet black hair peeks from behind his leg. He is about Hans's age, and I don't mean to be biased but my nephew looks so adorable and cute. I could tell that he is going to be one of the heart breakers.
However, I don't think that would happen because I will beat his grown ass of, he does that.
"Mom," he said in surprise, moving away from behind his father's legs.
I shook my head no. "Aunt Jenna" he tries again, and I smile at him, nodding my head in a yes. "Wow! I'd never thought I get to see you. Nana tells me so much about you." I nod my head and get down to hug him.
My sister and I never argue but she was never with me. She doesn't abuse or bully me. She was one of the bystanders. She was also a crybaby which then contributed to my parents' abusive actions to me both in verbal and emotional damage.
"Grandma" my adorable nephew screams and runs to my mom.
"Do you want to come inside?" Ken offer. "That would be nice," my mom said, and we all went inside.
"So, how are you doing?" I ask once we settle on the couch. Ken smile before explaining to me his journey with my nephew. He doesn't have a mate after my sister, and he is focusing on raising his son.
We all talk for a while before I spend time with my nephew. When it's time to leave I thank Ken and my mom for letting me see him.
"How are things going on with you and Shawn?" he asks, and we both look at Shawn who is playing around with Wes.
"Good," I simply reply.
"Hope you guys find true happiness" he genuinely said, and we bid goodbye.
It's sad to leave my nephew but I know my mom and I will always visit them.

When we are back home, I took another shower and changed into a sweater and leggings. I may have promise Shawn a walk in the evening. I hear a knock on the door as I put on one sneaker.
I try to ignore it while looking for the other pair, but the person doesn't give it up. It knocks again. "Open" I yell back while looking for another sneaker's pair.
"Mother Superior is here to see you," Alpha Colby said from the door.
My eyes widen and I stood there for a second in shock. I wonder why she is here. "I will come down quick," I told him with a smile. When I found the other pair of my missing sneaker under the bed, I put them on and rush down to see mother superior. I collided with someone on the way.
"Sorry- Oh Shawn. I am so sorry I know I promise to take a walk with you, but Mother Superior is here to see me... Sorry but maybe next time and then we'll go," I told him.
"No worries, I understand," he said, and I give him another apologetic look before continuing to go downstairs.
"Mother superior" I call her, and she smiles when seeing me. However, I felt embarrassed when her eyes roam my outfit. "I am sorry" I apologize and sit beside her.
"No need to dear. I must confess that you look amazing and better" she said with a smile. I smile back at her. "Thank you but I think that you look hot and better dear mother superior." I teased her and she slap me on the shoulder. "Oh God, this child is going to make me resigned as a nun" she jokingly said. "Do you think it's possible, since you said I look hot?" We both laugh at that.
"So, are you here to take me back?" I nervously ask her after some time.
"No dear. I am not here to force you to go back but there are things I need to speak to you about," she said smoothly, and I listened to her in anticipation, wondering what it is going to be.
"First, I think I have to apologize for sending you here." I curiously look at her.
"But let me tell you my side of the story," she said, and I take a deep breath while watching her.
"I was once a werewolf Jenna. I am still one of them," Mother superior confesses. I look at her in shock, not knowing what to say. I am growing too confused now. As if my mother's superior can see my inner turmoil, she starts to explain everything to me.
"My wolf is still alive within me. I am not a human unlike you. When my mate died during a rogue attack I was devastated and heartbroken"
I look at her and see that she is staring ahead of her as if she is reminiscing on those dark times in her life.
"I was so lost, and I ended up going wayward. It was the darkest moment of my life. My father-in-law Elder Odega tried his best with me. Gave me all the support and advice I needed but to me, the pain was too much. It reached the point where I was so close to submitting to death. However, as if my mate and God see the hell, I am going through I was saved by a child." She smiles as she said the word child.
"A child that reminds me so much of my mate. She wasn't ours or his, but she was my guiding light that led me to my redemption. After years of spending there, I denounce my werewolf beliefs and accept the word of God."
I didn't say anything when she pauses to take a breath.
"When we find you at the front doors of the convent you were so lost. My wolf was a trigger because she could sense your aura. Later on, she confirmed that you are a wolf-turned-human. I search for answers that night after taking you in. I call Odega and he explains to me what happened to you at their pack."
Mother Superior look at her hands for a moment as if she is recollecting her words and trying to be brave for me. I reach out and squeeze her hand. She shook her head and smile at me sadly.
"Jenna, our world is filled with pain and sorrow because we focus on those two words so much. There's more happiness than we thought. The world is filled with happiness, but it is us who make the world hard to live in. I don't believe your life is filled with pain and sorrow Jenna."
There was a pause before she continues.
"I am sure there were moments that you were happy. Maybe a tiny portion but you were happy. So, hold on to those memories and forget the others."
Mother superior heaved a sigh. "I am so sorry for sending you here, but I only did it with good intentions."
I wanted her to stop right there but it feels like I needed to hear her words. "Jenna, the reason why I sent you here was that I saw the way you struggle with your past. I didn't send you here to regret or take revenge. You need to resolve all your troubles for you to be in peace. Then you have to make a choice. A choice that will forever makes you happy."
Mother superior takes both of my hands in hers. She genuinely smiles at me. "Go with whatever your heart chooses. Don't let words or your mind scenarios get in the way. Don't let your emotions entrap or blinded you. Be free from it and be happy."
Tears slip from my eyes, and I try so hard not to lose control.
"Remember, God created you to be who you are not to be someone else, and no one was born weak or evil. You were once a pure-hearted and strong woman Jenna. You still are. You just need to lay it all out on someone."
Her words comforted me. It feels like another weight uplifted from my shoulders. I hug her and let my tears flow freely without holding back.
