Chapter sixty-five( New maid)

Mira's pov:

The word that the truth can't be hidden under the sun was true, no matter what the truth can't go hidden for long. I gaze at them with tears stinging in my eyes, as much as I wanted to raise my head and tell them everything and end things here and now but I couldn't as no word seemed to come out of my lips. I have never been in this kind of situation before, I thought that I could escape this. I have always wanted to escape this because I didn't know how to face them. I am not ready to face them now because I am still grieving for my friend more like a sister to me, before I know it tears roll down my cheeks.

"You stop that pity thing and explain what is going on here," Nicholas snapped.

"Don't you dare shout at her!…." Derrick let out a warning growl.

"If I don't stop what are you going to do huh?" Nicholas slur.

"I am going to……

" Please stop, Derrick….." Virginia cried out as Lucien came in between them to stop them from causing a scene. Alpha Den looked sad about the turn of events. Mr. Peter the gamma kept looking at me with disgust and anger, their stare wasn't happening at all. I felt worthless and unworthy to speak up in their presence, I am the cause of this. I could have come clean before now.

"Tell him not to shout at my mate," Derrick professed possessively.

"Stupid you bro, she is my mate and wife! WIFE…."

"Can't you get it, huh?" Nicholas taunts as Derrick murderously snarls at him causing fear to sink into me, I have never seen Derrick this angry. I have never seen this side of him.

"Mind your language, Nicholas," Virginia pleads.

"I should watch my tone, heh? I knew that you were going to support him, that's what you have always done…." Nicholas furiously muttered.

"Don't you talk to our mother like that! Are you crazy," Derrick roared with rage.

"That's all you do acting like the good one when obviously, you are the cause of this whole thing…. " Nicholas spits.

"You are the wrong person here….." Derrick defends.

"You guys should stop, please," Virginia desperately pleads. As the whole crowd gaped at them, I watched before me as the once happy family turned into enemies because of me. I watched as the twins kept arguing and exchanging hurtful words, I wasn't proud of that as I felt ashamed. I just wonder what Virginia could be passing through now.

"STOP!!!......... HAVE YOU GUYS LOST IT, HUH?" Alpha Den growled in anger causing everywhere to suddenly go quiet.

He turned to me, as his face hardened with his eyes looking as cold as ever, emotionless as they bore into me. "Mira, could you explain what is going on here….NOW!!!"

I flinch at his words as they send terrifying chills down my spine "I am mated to both of them….." The word rolled out of my lips more like a sob.

"What!!!........ My word took every single soul by surprise including the twins as they all gaped at me.

"You were mated to who…..?" Alpha Den surprisingly asked but masked his expression quickly before we could notice.

"I am mated to the two brothers…." With my head cast down, I swallowed hard.

"This is unheard of….." The gamma rumbled.

"This is the first time something like that is happening…… being mated to the same people at the same time," The beta murmured. Confusion and disturbance were all over the crowd, people are now bigger than before. They were murmuring, whispering, and bewilderingly staring at me.

Derrick let out a bitter laugh before fixing his eyes on me "Then I should guess that your name isn't Annabel……"

Chewing my lips, I quietly muttered "Yes….. I am sorry….

" You made me behave like a fool, I proved every single one wrong when I was indeed the wrong person…… how could you?" He hurt fully exclaimed.

"And you know all this long and you kept quiet…… gosh! You are……. I…… I …… in fact, I am out of here," he forcefully strode out of the place in anger.

"What a pathetic fool? You know what, you better fix this nonsense before I will help you fix it……" Nicholas viciously snarled before turning around and leaving.

"This is complicated……" Lucien confusingly murmured.

"This is a taboo and couldn't be gently handled," Mr. Peter cruelly uttered.

"What makes it a taboo, huh?" Mr. Philip spitefully glared at him. Tears were flowing down my cheeks because I knew that I couldn't come out of this condition in peace or alive.

"Have you ever heard of this….." Mr. Peter meanly uttered.

"And that makes it a taboo to you," Joyce mumbled.

"Yea! It is a huge taboo, don't you see that it is bringing more disgrace to the royal family and this pack…." He malevolently glared at me as he uttered the word.

"Because it isn't heard of doesn't make it a taboo, yes it is a shame that it got to unfold in all our presence like this but…… there must still be a reason that the moon goddess bound them together," The beta muttered.

The gamma's word pangs my heart, this is a shame. They could see me as shame as the reason behind the sudden separation of the twin brothers, and my heart shattered. This is not the way that I planned for my life to be, this is not the way that I wished things could be in my life. I know to disclose the truth was going to be disastrous and won't settle well. I watched as Virginia stared at me with pity and pain before embracing me in a motherly hug, the same with Joyce.

"This is confusing, the more I try to reason the more my head spins around in pain……" Lucien barely whispered.

"Excuse me, I have to go now!....." He slowly bowed to everyone before walking out and disappearing into the crowd.

"There is more to this….." Alpha Den muttered before taking his leave as well.

It has been five days since the incident, I haven't seen any of the siblings which I am happy about. I don't know how to face them now, from the doctor's report. Angel is not yet dead which brightens my mood but they didn't know when she will be awake, they still didn't know the time that she could come out of her state of unconsciousness. I just pray that she wakes up anytime soon so that I can escape with her. I can't endure this pain anymore. After dressing I move toward the dining table for breakfast, slowly pushing the door open. My throat burns as I notice everyone is already seated. They were waiting for me but the atmosphere wasn't a pleasant one at all, every single soul was present.

"Oh! My baby girl, please come here……" Virginia rushed towards me and embraced me in a hug with a tender smile, I smiled back at her. Greeting every single person before pulling my chair and sitting down. Derrick refused to look at me as he continued eating his food. He didn't even acknowledge my presence; the same applies to Nicholas except that he meanly glared at me before diverting his attention elsewhere. Lucien was fixated on his food to look up. Nengi, If the only eye could be killed I am sure that I could be six feet down by now with the way that she was looking at me.

Joyce gave an encouraging smile, as Alpha Den nodded for everyone to eat up their food, I feel fucking uncomfortable with the type of stare that I was getting.

'Don't you like the food?" Virginia asked with concern.

"Huh?....haha I love it….." I nervously replied with a phony smile. No matter what, I don't think I can hate this mother figure in front of me. She is kind and cool.

"Then eat up…." Joyce muttered with a small smile.

"Huh….." I smiled back at her.

"So I was thinking that now Angel is still unconscious. Why don't you get another maid to help you around?" Virginia said all of the sudden drawing my attention.

"Heh….. The thing is that I don't need a maid now," I nervously mumbled.

"No, don't say that you fucking need a maid," Nengi calmly said taking me by surprise. The way her tone of voice changed was confusing, and the way that she could switch to different behavior at a time still baffles me.

"Yes, Nengi is right, running around all by yourself will be a bit stressful…. You need a second hand," Virginia expressed.

"Sorry to decline but I am ok….." I insist.

"Come on, Mira….." Joyce persists as she makes a baby girl face. I wanted to laugh at her silly attitude but with the way the atmosphere was, I decided to keep quiet. None of the males at the table have spoken since we started eating. I know that Virginia and Joyce were trying to brighten my mood and make me not feel uneasy with the way things were going.

"Ok, fine but I don't know who to pick…." I quietly muttered with a phony smile.

"That I will….. Virginia didn't get to finish as Nengi jumped in " I know the perfect person for that…."

I quickly snapped my head at her, what is she up to? "You do….." Virginia's eyes glowed with happiness as she asked.

"Yes……" she indirectly smirked at me.

"Who is it, dear…." Joyce asked.

"Jessy, the omega………. She announced.

" Wow! That's a nice one, how could I not have thought of her," Virginia exclaimed with happiness.

"She will make a good maid….." Joyce voiced out.

"Huh….." I replied. I don't know what but I don't feel good about this whole idea.
