Chapter 165 Just A Dream
Chapter 165 Just A Dream
Nick wouldn't lift the quilt for no reason.
After doing this, Veronica suddenly felt discomfort on her face. She immediately lifted herself from his hold, got out of bed, and fanned her face with her hands. "My face really hurts."
Nick sat up and stared at her knowingly. "Am I irresponsible for the pain? Did I irritate your skin?"
Veronica looked at it, and even when Nick Cage was sitting, he could see it clearly. It was really serious.
Frightened, he turned his eyes aside. "I don't want to continue anymore. My face hasn't gone down yet. I'm not feeling well," she said.
Nick sat on the edge of the bed for a while, cooled his body's heat before standing up. He then went to Veronica and leaned down close to her face. His shadow fell on her figure, his one hand clasping the back of her head, one side of his thin lips close to her ear. His voice was deep and low as he asked her, "What are you thinking?"
Veronica breathed a breath dangerously, stabilizing her flustered heart. "What else can I think in front of you? If there's something else, you will easily see it."
"It better be."
Veronica was stared at by Nick's eagle-sharp eyes for some time. She was calm on the surface, but she could not calm her beating heart.
After all, some people could not keep a calm and casual appearance before the powerful aura of Nick.
Nick let go of her, rubbed her shoulder, opened the door, and went out by the time she was almost unable to support her willpower.
Not long after, Veronica heard the sound of the door opening and closing. She was not relieved yet, so she got up to go out, checked to see Nick's figure, and made sure that he was really gone.
Veronica leaned against the table with her hand over his chest. Her heart still beating wildly.
After calming down, Veronica turned back to her room and lifted the quilt. The milk bottle was lying innocently in front of her.
Veronica laughed and picked up the bottle. "What a naughty boy. So that kid came here and left his bottle."
There were five bottles in the cupboard. She finally put away the sixth one.
She must have hidden the bottles in a hurrying manner, that's why I didn't notice the number.
Fortunately, she got away with it.
She called Isabella for she's the one who will bring the babies back.
The six little ones just have to roll to their sides like small, cute figurines and Veronica's heart would instantly be calmed down.
Veronica had a dream at night.
She dreamt about the happy times she used to have when she was with Toby.
"Toby, why do you like me?"
"Why do you think I like you?'
"I asked you because I didn't know!'
"Give me a kiss and I'll tell you."
"Hey, I said give me a kiss!"
Veronica gave her some.
"It's too few. Give me some more."
Veronica jumped up and down and playfully turned his back to him. "Toby, if I fall back, you catch me. This proves my trust in you. In the future, no matter what happens, I will always believe you!'
Veronica turned around slightly so she could not see the person behind her.
Unexpectedly, her body fell down without any support.
"Ah! Toby Cage!"
Veronica's body twitched violently. She was frightened and sweating as she woke up.
It was only when she saw Daniel sleeping soundly on her chest with his mouth open that she realized that it was only a dream.
She gently hugged Daniel and fell asleep beside him. Julie, Josh, Lily, and Cathy were all close to her as well.
Peter had half of his body outside the bed. He moved over to be closer to Veronica. Peter twitched his mouth twice and fell asleep once again, his belly bulging.
Veronica rested while being surrounded by these six children.
She rubbed her eyes and looked at the cell phone. Veronica then sat up and turned on the nightstand. It was difficult to rationalize that she just had a strange impulse to call Toby after dreaming about their past relationship.
However, as soon as she returned to reality and saw her six little ones sleeping around her, she came to her senses.
Not only couldn't she call Toby, but she also has to act like she didn't know anything. She has to pretend to have her same attitude as before.
