Chapter 21 The Regrets II

Rishi's PoV

I couldn't concentrate on my work after I came back from home. God, she is so soft. All I see is her face and those delicious lips. OMG at this rate, I am not going to complete any of my pending works today. She is so distracting. Everything that happened keeps replaying in my mind. I can still feel her goosebumps under my touch. The way she closed her eyes, that was so sexy. Her soft lips are so irresistible.

I had kissed Smirthi many times. But that was nothing as compared to what we shared today. This one is mind blowing. She just made me so hard! I really wanted to make love to her. If it’s not for my stupid brother, everything would have been done. She definitely wouldn't have stopped me.

But in a way I should thank my brother. Because if it was done today without us talking, then it would have been a blunder.

"Excuse me Rishi! The design team needs your approval for further development. Have you seen the papers yet?"

"Oh yes, About that! I will send them now. Thanks for reminding, Prakash."

This girl is very disturbing. I have loads of work to be done. I engulfed myself in my work until I got a call from my lawyer uncle.

"Hello uncle! What’s up?"

"...."

"Just tell me now uncle. You see, I really have so much work piled up."

"...."

"God! At Least, tell me what it is regarding?"

"...."

"Alright! I will be home in another 45mins."

" ...."

"Ok uncle bye! This better be worth my time."

Huh! What is so important that he needs to talk to me in person!?

I went through the designs that wait for approval. I made some changes and approved them. I drove to my home. I am actually happy to go home since I can see her. How am I going to face her?! I mean she is not going to confront me or anything but it still felt so wrong to have kissed her before we sort out our differences. Though she enjoyed it as much as I did, I still feel weird.

I bet she will hide. She won’t be coming in front of me which is in a way good for me too. I mean I really don’t know how to face her after what I did. Why the hell am I thinking about her all day? She is definitely a witch. She must have casted a spell on me! I should be thinking about what my uncle has to say.

When I reached home, dad, uncle, Dhiwakar, and Danya were having coffee. I went in and straight away asked uncle what this is all about. But he said the same thing he said on the phone. He needs my time and patience.

Danya gave me coffee. It really helped to ease my mind. After I heard what uncle and Dhiwakar had to say, I almost got what would have happened with Smirthi. I really got confused. I mean I am not that stupid. This whole story comes from Dhiwakar. So, I should reconfirm the details with someone trust-worthy. A private detective is a must. I have to share this with Karthik. He may shed light from a different angle.

I just wanted to be alone. I want to think about what I should do next. I can’t let Smirthi go just like that. If what Dhiwakar says is true, then she should pay for what she did. If Dhiwakar's story is not true, then I should make sure Smirthi is fine.

Danya should wait until I'm done with everything. I can't figure out what is happening between us amidst this chaos. I went to my room. I am now angry with the possibilities that Dhiwakar's story might actually be true. She just left me because my business is at loss? How could she do that after all the love she poured on me? Should I be thankful that I escaped a bitch? But whom am I with now? How can I be so sure that Danya is not the same? She too said something that is still pestering my mind.

I heard a knock. I know who it is. Ravi and dad don’t do door knocks! They just come in because we don’t lock the doors. I'm really not in a mood to talk to her. But she came in and asked me something. I literally don’t want to hear anything now. But for some reasons, I don’t want to shout at her. Even After insisting so many times to go out, she didn’t listen to me. That made all my anger go against her.

God what am I doing to her. She is crying. I can’t do this to her. But she said she knew me and she knew what I do for a living. So, she obviously knew I am rich unlike Smirthi. Maybe that is why she married me. It crushes my soul to know that a girl thinks I am no good if not for the money I have. Is that what I am actually worthy of?

No! I have a heart too. I like this stranger girl way too much that I can even forgive Smirthi for her heinous act but if Danya thinks the same, she will face the worst of me.

She said she just felt it right. Now I really wanted to believe that she is in love with me at the first sight. But she added that she wanted to marry me because she recognized me. What does that supposed to mean? Why does she always talk intriguingly? Why can’t she just have stopped with the first statement? I would be all happy and even forget about what I heard back in the kitchen. She always lets loose ends make it hard for me to put my trust on her.

I have already hurt her badly both physically and mentally. I really feel terrible for doing this to her. I mean look at her, she looks so innocent with those big eyes. I just turned away to cool myself. But what she next said got on my nerves. She was a bride-to-be to someone else. She must have had him in her heart. They must have talked on the phone. She might have gone out on a date with him? I am sure because no one now-a-days are saying yes to a marriage without meeting and talking in person.

No No No! She belongs to me. She is mine. The mere thought of her in someone else’s arms made my rage go blind. The next thing I knew was she fainted in my arms. God what have I done? Her lower lip was bleeding. She is so fragile. She fainted for a kiss. No, that was not a kiss. I am a monster. But surprisingly I'm not angry anymore. The moment I started kissing her I felt all my anger vaporize!

GOSH SHE IS BURNING! She has got a fever.

I picked her gently and placed her on the bed. I don’t know what to do next. If dad sees her like this, he will never talk to me ever again. He might even take her away from me. I dialed Ravi.

"Hey bro! What a surprise? You are calling me at your work hours?" he asked me as soon as he picked up the call.

"Where are you?"

"On the way home! What happened?"

"Stop at a pharmacy and bring some medicine for fever!"

"For you?"

"Why is that important? Just do what I say."

"Chill, bro! The pharmacist might ask for the patient’s age!"

"It's for Danya! She is burning."

"Awww you are home this early!? And you are tending to your sick wife!? I have never

expected this from you, bro!"

"Shut the fuck up! Come home as soon as possible." He is an idiot.

"Haha ok bro! I understand! You are home because you knew anni is going to get fever right!"

"How am I supposed to know that? Idiot."

"Ha I think this fever is because of you when you came home for lunch!"

"Bring the goddamn medicines soon, you jerk!"

I can’t believe her! She told Ravi about what happened at noon!? She must be nuts. Gosh, what am I going to do with her? When I realized I didn’t tell Ravi to bring the medicines without dad's knowledge I called him again. When I said to bring the medicines secretly to my room that stupid laughed like a moron. He has all bad ideas in his mind about what had happened. I wonder what she had told him. When he came in, I was sitting on the edge of the bed watching her sleep. Just after he saw her state, all his face color drained. He glared at me.

"What the hell did you do to her? Is she even breathing?"

He scared me to death. I checked on her heaving chest. I huffed out a long breath.

"Shut up! Now help me wake her and give her medicine!"

We both tried so hard to wake her up. She woke up but not fully. We dropped the medicines in her mouth and gave her water. She just did what I asked her to do and went back to sleep again.

She is a baby!

"Just check on her every 2 hours. If her fever didn’t drop then give her the next dose. She should be ok in the morning."

I just nodded at him. He went out and I locked the door.

She is a beautiful girl. I laid beside her looking at her beautiful face. I didn’t know when Idozed off to sleep. I woke up when I saw her sleep talking! Omg, she is so cute. She thinks she is sleeping with her sister. She is calling her names.

When she said she is going to kick me off the bed I laughed, like literally! She can’t even move my finger and she is talking about kicking me out of the bed. She is funny. Her fever has dropped. She is now at room temperature. I just then realized I am putting my hands across her waist. She can’t even handle my hand's weight.?! I lifted my hands a little up so that she could sleep again. But she wiggled. When I asked her to go back to sleep, she gasped out loud and stopped wiggling almost immediately. God, she is awake! What should I do now? I misbehaved with her twice in the same day. What if she doesn’t want me to be with her? The worst part is, after making her faint, I am now sleeping with her hugging!

I decided to do what I do the best! Pretend sleeping. That way she won’t say anything now. After a little while she started scratching my chest. She wants me to wake-up? God she is going to yell at me. I opened my eyes. I pretend that I didn’t know that I’m hugging her. I took away my hands muttering sorry!

"No! That's ok!" She said as she got up from the bed.

"Where are you going?" I asked her.

"Um....I’m...I’m hungry. I will go eat something and will sleep in the guest room. Sorry I should have listened to you and gone out. I won’t bother you anymore."

"I didn’t eat dinner either. Let’s go and eat together. You are not bothering me and you can sleep here. I'm so sorry for what I did. If you are not comfortable with me, I can call Ravi."

She looked at me like I had grown horns.

"Don’t be sorry. I know it was my fault. I should have given you your space. And you don’t have to be sorry for kissing your wife. I'm very much comfortable with you."

WHAT DID I JUST HEAR? I thought she was a shy girl. Now she is making me shy. I just nodded at her and turned to get down from the bed. I don’t want her to see my shy smile you know. We both went down and had our dinner.

She was struggling to eat because of the bruise on her lip. I felt guilty and said sorry again. But she said her lips usually gets swell, dried up and gets cut whenever she gets a fever. I know she is trying to make me feel better. I gave her the next dose of medicine because she said her head is hammering. We retired to sleep again and this time she slept on the other end of the bed. I really miss her.
