"Hello Maxwell. Is Amanda close, I would like to hear from her". He finally spoke up, one could tell he was angry, he didn't want to speak to him, but he just had no choice at the time.

His voice was strong and devoid of any emotions, he wasn't scared if Maxwell, thought the same as others, that he raped Amanda, he didn't care, he just wanted to be there for her, and save her from all the dramas, he also saw how cruelly her mother inlaw was handling the situation and could only imagine what Amanda must have passed through all in the name of marriage. But he was sure of one thing. If Amanda was pregnant for about three month now and words were only getting out now, it means Dave, her husband did care about her, but could probably not take it anymore.

Not all men, will keep quiet, after discovering that their wife, had slept with another man.

"Dave is not such a bad person". He thought to himself.

" She is asleep"

Maxwell wanted to say so much to his ex bestfriend, but funny enough, was too scared. He could hear how cold he sounded on the phone, and couldn't blame him, he knew he acted on impulse and couldn't be blamed too, but he was supposed to have listened to him when he begged for forgiveness.

Love is a beautiful and funny thing, we really do not choose whom to fall in love with, it just happens.

The heart wants what it wants, and one could really not do anything about it. No matter how much one fights it is just there, and wouldn't go away until it gets it.

" Alright then would call back later" He said, Since there was nothing more for him to say, and Maxwell, was no longer his friend.

He was about to hang up when he heard Maxwell say the last thing he was expecting from him.

" I am sorry" Maxwell spoke calmly, but Goodluck could hear him clearly.

He couldn't come to terms with what he just heard, was he really apologising or was it a sleep of tongue, maybe he was talking to someone else in the room, he was over thinking.

He was supposed to hang up, but he was curious yet he didn't say anything, his silence gave room for Maxwell to continue.

"Goody I am really sorry, I know I messed up big time, you are my brother, you are more than a friend to me, but I killed that relationship". Goodluck still did not say anything, he was thinking of what to say, he was begining to get really angry.

can we meet? He heard his voice again, and then nodded with his head, that Maxwell was talking to him.

Now it was confirmed, he couldn't believe it, Maxwell was apologising, he had waited so long to hear him apologize, he had waited so long for him to realise his mistake, and look for him to say those words, hearing it from him now didn't make him feel any better, he felt worse and even more angered.

Was he apologising now, because he had called or because he needed a friend or because he was in need or what. He didn't just apologise, he wanted them to meet, he must be a joker. Goodluck decided to play hard to get, after all he couldn't let him get off easilly.

"I will think about it, for now I am really busy, but will call back to know how Amanda is doing"

He immediately ended the call  before he could change his mind. Saying he would think about it had sounded like he was being wooed. It made him feel like a gay.

He smiled at his own thought, his reply, had been what girls used to tell him, back then, that is only girls that have thinks to offer, and wanted to play hard to get, but he used to always just smile, Because, whenever a girl, tells you, she will think about it, then she had already accepted.

He still had his phone in his hand, he placed it on his chest, thinking about his friend.

People had always admired the both of them, he was the opposite of Maxwell, who was never seen with a woman unlike him who was nicknamed 'woman wrapper' they did alot together, and he was welcomed in their home, but was not welcomed to fall in love or date the baby of the house whom he fell inlove with.

He never planned to fall in love with Amanda, but it just happened, it took only one family Thanksgiving celebration for him to notice her on a different light, and started to see her differently, he had tried to suppress the feeling many times, but nothing he did worked, Instead his feelings only grew more. He was curious to know, and hear what Maxwell wanted to say, but he knew they would have enough time for that since the drama had just began, once again he was involved with the Chukwukodinaka family,  that was their family name, they didn't have so much wealth but they were Indeed powerful.

Goodluck called his right hand man Douglas, to keep and eye on Amanda as he was sure there were more drama yet to unfold, while he ran a background check on all at the hospital.

He was trying to run a background check, but he was busy thinking about both Amanda and Maxwell.

He placed his hands on his head, why could he not just forget her, why could he not just be with another girl, without messing it up?.

He remembered the last girl he was with, they were quite serious together, but he ended it himself, by calling her Amanda severally, even before they ran into each other at the mall.

He was making love to another girl, but he was calling Amanda's name, as if he had even touched and her, and that was when he knew, it would not be easy, for him to forget her, they were meant to be, but Fate refused to acknowledge that, but now that he has gotten a chance to see her again, he must try, to make her happy, and watch her live happilly with someone else.

He went back to his system, he must find out about all the people that were at the hospital, including the girl that walked in last.
