Apartment
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
She looked sharply at them one by one as if she was carefully tickling each one of them. "Who gave you the right to hurt my family? Huh?" she asked angrily.
"Miss, this apartment your family lives in has been sold. Madam V has bought their apartment, so whether they like it or not, they have to leave," explained one of them calmly.
Anton asked. "Who is that Madam V?" Ariella's father and brother were slightly surprised by his arrival.
The bodyguards looked at each other as if they were talking when they saw Anton.
"Tell Madam V, whoever she is, that I will double the price of the apartment. Even if I triple the payment, I will do it," he added. They were all looking at him.
"Don't be arrogant, Anton," Ariella's father said softly. When they first met, he didn't immediately like Anton for his eldest daughter. He knows that Anton is very rich and that is the reason why he does not want his daughter to marry him. He knows many will criticize Ariella and he doesn't want that to happen. He knows what will happen to his daughter and he doesn't want her to get hurt and suffer.
Anton looked at him for a moment, then he looked back at the bodyguards.
"You know me, don't you? Now, introduce me to who Madam V you are referring to. I can buy this apartment at a higher price," he added.
They could hardly believe that Anton said that he would buy the apartment. He is also not boastful because he can buy something no matter how expensive it is.
"You don't have to do that, Anton. I'll just find them a new house to move to," Ariella replied while helping them pick up their belongings that were scattered on the road.
"I would rather live on the street than live in that apartment if you are the only one who can buy it," said his father.
"Dad, what are you saying?" Ara asked in confusion.
"Ara, if you're going to marry, don't marry a rich man because you know he's heaven and you're just earth. You're like a fool trying to reach for the stars."
They didn't pay attention to what he said. Ariella knew from the beginning that he didn't like Anton for her because he was the son of a billionaire. She knows the reason and that's why she understands why her father says things like that.
"You talk too much. Leave before Madam V arrives!" A bodyguard opened up to them and even kicked their belongings.
Anton was about to hit the man but Ariella immediately stopped him.
"It's okay. There are many other apartments they can move to," he said while stroking Anton's shoulder.
"You don't need to find us a new place to live. We can bear to sleep on the street. I'll work to rent a small house for me and Ara."
Ariella looked at him coldly. She feels that her father is sulking at her because she marry Anton.
She forced a smile and came closer to him, and held his hands and looked directly into his eyes.
She said, "Do you think I'm going to let you sleep on the street? Dad, I know you hate me but I hope you'll listen to me anyway. I can't bear to see you suffer."
His father could not look directly into her eyes, and tried to look away.
He took a deep breath before saying, "You don't have to worry about us. We can endure the hardship."
She still tries to persuade her father even though she knows it will be difficult to convince him. "Dad, accept my help. Please, please, Dad, for Ara. Will you let her get bitten by a mosquito? Sleep in a dark place she's not used to?"
Her father thought for a moment and realized what she said. She didn't want Ara to get hurt, so he have to lower his pride.
Before he could speak, one of the bodyguards kicked their belongings.
"Stop being dramatic! Get out!" As he was sending them away, he pushed Ariella causing her to fall.
Anton glared at him and quickly punched him in the face. His nose immediately bled.
"No one is allowed to hurt my wife!" he shouted furiously and rushed at the man again. He continued to punch the man and they also continued to wean them.
"Anton, stop!"
She holds Anton's arm and stops him from attacking again. "Anton, please. Stop it, please."
In the middle of the mess, a woman was walking slowly. Her face was calm and there was a smile on her red lips. Her gold jewelry glittered on her body and so did her blonde hair that was slightly curled.
Her stylish bag with the LV brand was hanging on her arm.
She hears the shouting and knows what is happening. She stopped, said softly, "There's been trouble here. I wasn't even informed."
The commotion stopped because they heard what she said. All their eyes were looking at hier
You can read a lot of surprise in their reactions, especially to Ariella and Anton.
"Madam V, they don't want to leave," a bodyguard said like a child.
She rolled her eyes and then turned to look at them. When she looked at Ariella and Anton, she smiled.
"So you're here? What a surprise?"
Now they are enlightened as to who bought the apartment. None other than his grandmother. It also occurred to Anton that she intended to buy and evict Ariella's family.
"Grandmother, what are you doing?"
Her eyes widened with joy as both of her eyebrows rose. "You're smart, Anton, aren't you? Oh, I forgot," she paused and softly chuckled. "By the way… you're so smart, you're not thinking! You're the heir to our clan, yet you married someone like her!" She looked angrily at Ariella. It's as if Ariella is deeply behind her. "You've been tricked into marrying another lowly woman! I will never accept it!"
"Hey! Who are you to belittle my daughter?!" Ariella's father asked loudly.
Madam Victoria smirked. "Poor people really don't know. Because you don't know! You have no brains!"
His chest suddenly swelled when he heard Madam Victoria's insult.
He approached and elegantly said, "We are poor but we have good hearts. You rich people are poor people! Thanks to God, I don't know how to hurt a woman!"
She was so annoyed with Ariella's father that she just laughed. "You money-faced people! Aren't you?! All your daughter needs from my grandson is money?!"
"Dad, just let her go. Don't argue anymore," Ariella taunted and tried to lead him away. "Let's go."
His eyebrows furrowed when he looked at Ariella. He yelled at her, "I didn't raise you to be weak, Ariella! When you know you're being oppressed, fight back! Don't be a coward! Stand your ground!"
