Pretending
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Pretending
At La Villa's private resort, Anton and Ariella went there. The day after tomorrow would be her birthday but now they thought of going on a date at that resort because Anton had a meeting on Ariella's birthday.
Ariella understood and that was not important to her. She got used to not celebrating on her birthday because she was focused on work before. This would be the first time that she will celebrate it with her husband.
It seems like she didn't know anything about Anton because there were smiles on Ariella's lips while she was running on the beach while Anton was chasing her. You can hear their laughter as they are like children playing and having fun.
Unexpectedly Ariella tripped on the sand so Anton caught her. His arms were wrapped around her waist.
"I got you, my wife. Don't you dare run away or else," he whispered.
"or what?" she asked. She sat on the sand while the waves hit them.
"...or else I will make you full for nine months." His voice showed that he was serious about what he said.
She laughed a little at what she said.
"I'm serious. Try to run, and you'll see," he added.
It occurred to her that maybe he was serious about what he said.
She removed his hands from her waist, and stood up.
She met Anton's gaze, and raised her eyebrows as if she was trying to read through his eyes if he was serious or not.
"As if I care," she answered flatly then ran again.
Anton couldn't believe it, however, he chased Ariella again until he caught her again.
They both rolled until he was on top of her. Both of their bodies were sandy but they were also happy at that moment.
They stared at each other until their gaze deepened. Little by little, Anton's face came closer to hers until their lips finally touched.
The two of them kissed passionately, feeling what seemed to be burning feelings. It's like a thirst for a kiss if they kiss.
She closed her eyes and felt the sweetness of each kisses, suddenly, she heard a sound that she thought was an alarm clock.
She opened her eyes, just looking at the ceiling as she remembered everything. It's all just a dream. She thought that was true because she could feel that she and Anton were kissing.
She sighed.
"Just a dream," she said to herself.
She tilted her head to see if Anton was still asleep but he was no longer by her side.
She frowned as she wondered why Anton didn't wake her up when he wasn't like that before.
He used to say goodbye first and kiss her on the forehead before he left.
Now she wonder why.
"He didn't even kiss me on my forehead," she said with a snort as if she was sulking.
A moment later, she suddenly noticed the food on the side table, so she got up from bed to look at it.
She sat down and noticed the notes saying 'Good morning, my wife. I'm sorry if I didn't wake you up. I went to work so early because of a meeting. I notice you sound asleep and I don't want to disturb you.
I prepared your breakfast. Don't skip your meal, okay? I'll be home later. Please wait for me' -Anton, your husband
Now she didn't realize that she was smiling while reading the message. It served as medicine for her temper.
"I hope you really went to work," she said while holding the paper with a simple notes from Anton. "But," she smirk and fold the paper. "...I want to make sure."
She let out a deep sigh before she eat the foods that Anton prepared for her, then, she took a bath.
When she got dressed, she immediately left. Since she didn't know how to drive a car yet, she just took a taxi to go to Anton's office.
She wants to make sure if Anton is there. It crossed her mind that Anton might be lying to her again.
"Good morning, Ma'am," the guard greeted.
"Good morning," she greeted as well with a momentary smile on her lips before entering the building.
While she was walking towards his office, she met an employee.
"Good morning, Ma'am. Are you looking for Sir?" she asked.
She nodded in response.
"Oh. You're late. Sir just left."
"Where is he going? Does he have a business partner he needs to meet? Or does he have a business meeting?"
The woman shook her head, saying, "I'm sorry, Ma'am. I don't know where Sir went. He doesn't have a scheduled meeting today according to his schedule plan."
She just nodded as her mind began to think of the possible reasons.
"Okay. Thanks. Just don't tell him that I came here. Clear?"
She nodded and said "Okay, Ma'am."
She also left but didn't know where she was going. Will she find Anton when she doesn't know where he is? Or will she just go back home to wait for him to come home?
She was confused as to what she should do. She didn't want to think about where and what Anton was doing.
So many what ifs.
She suddenly felt hungry, so she thought of having lunch at the private restaurant that she and Anton often go to. She just took a taxi to go there.
There, she just waited for her order to be served to her.
While sitting and waiting for her food, she constantly looked around. There was nothing she could do so instead of being stunned and bothered by thoughts, she looked around until she noticed something.
From the end, to the side, she noticed something. She seemed so familiar to her that she couldn't take her eyes off her until she realized that Cindy was the woman thatthe man was talking to. Although the man's back was turned, she couldn't make out who he was but it occurred to her that he was Cindy's fiancé.
But there is something wrong with him.
She felt not.
When the man placed his arm on the table, the watch caught her attention.
She knew exactly whose it was.
"Anton?" she asked in a whisper. That was the watch that she gave to him before, so she was not mistaken.
As usual, her mind was filled with questions.
When Cindy looked at where she was, she immediately looked down. She bent down and blocked her face with her hand, so that she wouldn't notice her.
She quickly took the shades from the bag and immediately put them on so that she could not be recognized.
"Are they dating?" she asked herself. "Why are they together? What are they doing here?" questions without answers.
There were many questions and wonders in her mind at that moment, at the same time as her chest seemed to tighten as if she was struggling to breathe. She doesn't understand the feeling.
She took the phone to text Anton.
Typing … delete … typing .. delete.
She can not undersatand herself. She knew that Anton would lie to her again and there was nothing she could do because she seemed dumb not to speak, blind not to see.
'Have you eaten?' That's the only text she sent to him.
She noticed that the man picked up the phone when it beeped. He is typing.
Now, she is 100% sure that Anton is indeed the man Cindy is with now. This is where her feet took her where she could find Anton. She even found Anton and Cindy together and talking.
She received a message.
' I am done eating. How about you? Did you eat your breakfast?'
She smirked like she is annoyed with him.
"A fake concern and flowerful words of him," she whispered.
'Where are you now? I want to visit you and have launch with you.'
In her mind, 'That is what you want? You lied, I'll be fake.'
She was simply looking at him, so that they wouldn't notice her.
Cindy noticed that Anton was constantly using the phone. She is a little confused.
Typing again.
After a few seconds, she received a message again.
' I'll be in my office later. I just went to my friend for some reason. Just eat your lunch today, okay? Wait for me later.'
Her eyebrows rose while reading his message full of flowers.
"Liar," she whispered.
Now, an idea entered her mind.
'I'm on my way now. I will just wait for you there.'
She noticed that Anton immediately stood up when he read the message she sent.
Even though she couldn't hear much of their conversation, she knew that Anton w
as going to leave.
Her suspicions were correct. Anton left and Cindy was left behind.
Ariella also left and took a taxi.
