DATING HER
CHAPTER 57
Dating HER
As Anton often does, he left early again without leaving a note for Ariella.
It was 8 o'clock in the morning when Ariella woke up. She first looked for Anton, and as usual, he left so early again, so she looked for the note that he possibly left for her ... .but...no notes.
He didn't even wake her up to say goodbye and also to tell her where he will go.
She started to have instincts in mind but she tried her best to let go of those things.
This time, she had decided to go to his office to surprise him.
When she arrived there, the staff saw her. She noticed some of them are whispering about something while looking at her as if there is something fishy.
She didn't pay attention to them and walked to his office. Unfortunately, she didn't find anything there so she wondered.
"Where did he go at this time?" she asked.
The staff member passed by so she asked her, "Where is Anton?"
"He's on leave, Ma'am," she replied.
"He's on leave? No, that's impossible," she insisted.
"Excuse me, Ma'am. I have a lot of work to do.”
She was left very surprised because she didn't know anything about it. Anton didn't even tell her that he's on leave. Even informing her where will he go,
He didn't do it.
She wondered even more why he left early and where he really went.
She was nervous again like she felt before but she didn't want to think about anything because it would change her whole personality.
She didn't know where she was going to look for Anton. She feels like what happened to them before is happening again.
She is afraid.
She just called her driver to pick her up.
At the Doorway Restaurant, Anton was there and waiting for someone.
After a couple of minutes, a girl with straight hair and highlights arrived with a beautiful warm smile on her face.
She sat on the chair and greeted him.
"Good morning."
"What a surprise," he commented.
She couldn't help but smile.
"Am I looking good with my new hairstyle?" she asked.
"Yes, indeed," he replied.
The smile couldn't be erased on their lips while they were looking at each other.
It took minutes before they decided to order their food for their breakfast.
"So, what's the matter? I think it's too early for us to have a date," she said.
"It's not a date," he insisted.
"So what will you call this? Isn't this called a date? Eating together, just the two of you, at a private restaurant or somewhere, is called dating,” she said.
“Let's just eat,” that's what he said.
Cindy didn't speak. They ate in silence until they started talking. Their soft laughter was constant and it was evident that they were happy together. Anton couldn't even remember Ariella waiting for him.
After their meal at that restaurant, they decided to go to the beach to watch a boat show today.
There are many people in that place. It didn't occur to them that some people might recognize them. They didn't care at all.
They enjoyed watching the boat show and they really enjoyed it.
But it didn't even occur to Anton's mind that one of the players in the boat show was his father-in-law.
Minutes later, while they were watching them racing, he finally recognized him, so he immediately turned his back so as not to see him.
"Anton, what's the matter?" she asked.
"Let's go somewhere," he said and didn't answer her question.
"But why? I'm enjoying it," she insisted.
"We can't be here. My father-in-law is here, and I don't want him to see us together because I already know what will happen."
"Is that so..."
Cindy did nothing but leave. It would be better if they left than to see them together.
"Where else will we go?" she asked.
"If you want to go home, I will take you there," he said while they were still in the car.
"Can we go to the newly-opened store?"
He got confused. "Where?"
She pointed to where the store was, and they went there.
When they got there, they couldn't enter because there were so many customers inside.
"You still want to go inside?"
She shook her head, and said, "No. Let's just go somewhere. I just want to have some peace of mind.”
Anton had an idea where he could take Cindy, so he immediately drove there.
They arrived there in just a few minutes, so he parked the car first.
“Church?” she asked surprisingly upon seeing the place which is the church.
"Yes. You can find your peace here," he said.
They went together inside the church. There were only a few people there.
While they were inside, Cindy was stunned as if she was deep in thought.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing, it just occurred to me...
"What?"
"Is this where you and Ariella got married?" she suddenly asked, which he didn't expect.
Anton remembered Ariella and their marriage. He remembered everything.
He shook his head, and said, “No.”
“No? Is it a beach wedding? Or out of the country?”
He shook his head agaid, and said, “No.”
“Hmm…where?”
“Let's not talk about it, Cindy. We came here for your peace of mind and not for personal matters.”
“Okay, as you said.”
They remained silent, but Anton was restless. He suddenly remembered Ariella.
“Are you done?” he asked.
“Done in what?” she asked.
“Done praying,” she replied, which made her laugh.
“Pray? I didn't pray.”
“Ahh, really, so I just thought.”
She just laughed.
“Sasamahan na kita pauwi. Let's go?”
“But why? I said I really want to go somewhere. I don't want to go home right now. Can we go somewhere?”
“Maybe tomorrow. I need to go home. Ariella is waiting for me.”
She suddenly felt sad and didn't say a word until inside the car.
"Don't be sad, Cindy. Look at your disfigured face, you look ugly now,” he joked.
She just let out a deep sigh and didn't bother to speak.
"Here we are," he said.
"Thanks for the time. See you tomorrow," she said before getting out of the car.
He left and went straight to their house.
After he got there, he immediately looked for Ariella.
"Nanny Yel, where is Ariella? Is she upstairs?” he asked.
"Yes, Sir. She's been there since morning and she hasn't come down yet," she said, so he immediately went upstairs.
He carefully opened the door.
There he saw her lying on their bed while watching a movie.
"Have you eaten?" he asked.
"I am full," she replied without looking at him. Her attention was focused on the screen.
"How's your day, my wife?"
She frowned. In her mind, she's upset. She remembered what she just found out earlier.
"How's your day?" she asked in return.
"It's so stressful," he said.
"Ahh...stressed at work?"
He changed his clothes first, he said, "Yeah. I'm so tired."
She got confused by his answers. She wondered where he got tired of and where he go, even though he's on leave.
"You're in your office?" she asked again.
"Yeah," he replied sparingly, which she didn't believe.
It's like going back to the way it was before. It's like repeating what happened before.
She didn't speak anymore. Now she knew he was lying to her because before she ask about something, she already knew the truth.
He lied…..again.
