CHAPTER 58
AVOIDING HER
It was 8 o'clock in the evening when Ariella decided to sleep. She was lying down while Anton was sitting with his back to her.
"It's time to sleep, honey. Do it tomorrow," she said as she turned her back and closed her eyes.
"Later, my wife. Sleep first. I will sleep later," he replied.
She didn't say a word, but got confused again and again. There is something in her mind that she doesn't want to believe, but she started to doubt him.
She pretended to sleep. She was waiting for Anton to sleep but she didn't realize that she had fallen asleep completely due to sleepiness.
Anton was busy talking to Cindy on Instagram. It was already late at night but they were still talking.
It was as if their conversation was endless. It's like there's no tomorrow.
Ariella woke up suddenly but she didn't reveal it to Anton. She noticed that Anton was not sleeping beside her but she couldn't move.
She knew that Anton was by her side but she wondered why Anton was still awake until now.
She couldn't take it anymore so she pretended to cough.
"Honey," she called and pretended that she had just woken up, and she took that chance to lean over so she could see Anton.
But Anton didn't even pay attention to her.
He was just sitting next to her and he was still in the same position as before even before she fell asleep. Until now he is still in the same position.
She wondered what he was doing.
"Honey, why aren't you asleep yet?" she asked.
A few minutes passed but Anton still did not answer. It's like he didn't hear what she was saying earlier.
"Honey, let's sleep," she said but like before he still had no response. His attention and hearing were really focused on his laptop.
She got irritated because he didn't even answer and was talking like a fool with no one to talk to, so she got up and walked to turn on the light and television.
This time Anton noticed her.
He was even shocked when the TV turned on and to her.
"Why did you turn on the lights? Can't you sleep?” he asked, but she didn't answer. She didn't even pay attention to him. She lay down and watched a movie as if she didn't hear Anton's questions.
He put the laptop aside and went to bed but Ariella ignored him.
He kissed her on the forehead before he lay down again. He turned away from her which he never used to do.
Ariella noticed that and wondered why. She got used to Anton hugging her every time they fell asleep.
She just got up from bed to turn off the lights and television, then she proceeded to sleep again.
She fell asleep frowning because of what she noticed about Anton.
The whole night passed until the morning came.
It was 7:30 in the morning when Anton woke up.
Ariella was no longer by his side when he woke up, so he took a shower when he remembered that he's going somewhere with Cindy.
After that, he went downstairs and walked straight to the dining room and saw her preparing their breakfast.
"Good morning," he greeted and kissed her on her cheek.
Ariella didn't expect that because she thought he would kiss her on the lips, because that's what she's used to.
"I will not eat anymore, my wife. I'm late for work," he said and left in a hurry.
“But-”
"Bye, my wife," he said and left right away.
She couldn't speak anymore and was left stunned.
She prepared their breakfast that's why she woke up early… but Anton couldn't even taste it.
She was a bit lonely so she sat lazily.
She let out a very deep sigh while looking at the food on the table.
She lost her appetite especially since she had prepared so much and she was alone. She doesn't feel like eating anymore if she eats alone.
A moment later, Nanny Yel approached her and saw her lonely.
"It's okay, Ma'am. If you want, let's eat together. The foods looks yummy," she said.
Even though she ate with Nanny Yel, it still couldn't get rid of the sadness she felt.
"He became cold, Nanny. What should I do?” she suddenly asked and her voice was very weak.
"The secret to a successful relationship...if one is cold, the other must be warm. You can't be both cold and hot," she said meaningfully.
She sighed as she continued to eat. She doesn't seem to want to eat.
"Don't think too much about it, Ma'am," she said.
"You're right. Uhmm, I'll go upstairs for now, okay? Continue eating,” she said and stood up, then went straight to their bedroom.
At the Cinemax, Anton and Cindy were there again, watching the latest horror movie.
After an hour and 30 minutes, they left because the movie was over.
They are together again, they are together almost every day. Whenever he was with Cindy, he forgot about Ariella. He didn't even think about how Ariella would feel when she found out what he was doing.
He doesn't care about it at all.
After their date, they went to the park to try boating.
They were both excited to go boating.
They boarded the boat. Cindy was in front and Anton was behind her. They are both rowing and they are both enjoying it.
They are happy. They are happy together that they forgot they are both taken.
After boating, they ride in a roller coaster. Cindy's squeals are even happier every time the roller coaster goes down.
“Hooooo! Woohhh!” she screamed.
"Relax, Cindy. Don't scream, you will vomit," he said.
“It's so….ugh! My tummy! I'm sick," she said.
"No! No! Just relax and you will enjoy it. It's just quick, don't worry.”
She closed her eyes and tried her best not to open her mouth and scream until the roller coaster ended.
He helped her walk because she might slip and fall.
"Wow. I will not forget this moment," she said.
“One more ride?”
"No! No! I don't want to! Not anymore!”
Anton just laughed because of her reactions.
They have left. Anton thought about going home because it's already 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
He left Cindy at the mall because she and her friends were going somewhere, so he left her at the mall because that's where she was going to wait for them.
Before Anton went home, he bought donuts for Ariella.
When he got home, he looked for Ariella.
He went straight to the room and he saw her dressing herself.
"How's your day, my wife?" He asked.
Ariella didn't answer.
Anton came closer. She even thought he was going to kiss her so he came closer but she was wrong. This is just to put the box of mini messy donuts on the side table.
"Where will you go?" he asked before he lay down on the bed as if his body was very tired.
“Somewhere. Ummm do you have some time? Come with me," she said.
"I'm tired, my wife. Go with Nanny Yel. I want to sleep," he answered.
Ariella was sad. Anton used to accompany her wherever she could think of going. She just said one thing, Anton followed immediately.
Now it has changed.
