Chapter 27 Will they agree?

"You know son, it's one thing to try and protect your mate from thousands of demons wanting to kill her" he pauses and takes a deep breath. "But its a another thing making a deal with VAMPIRES!"

We all flinched as he raised his voice. Andrew, his mother and me all sat in Jackson's office as we told them what the plan was.

"Mr. Walters this was my idea and I think it's a really good one"

"How? How is this a good idea? Vampires, creatures that can not be trusted!"

"Why can't they be trusted? You know not all of them are terrible" I kind of found it offensive the way he talked about them.

"Oh really? Then why did you leave?"

Touchè. I stayed quiet because he got me on that one. I still didn't tell them exactly why I left I just told them it was personal and they lied to me, but I think they got an idea, they just haven't called me out on it.

"Dad, trust me I don't want to work with them, I don't even like them, but considering the situation, they can help us"

"Andrew you're really not convincing me with this."

Andrew turns to his mother. "Mom?"

"I'm with your father on this one. You do remember what happened a few years back. It wasn't a good day for our pack" I used to get flashbacks and nightmares from that day when I was eight, especially when my parents were taken. "And we all still carry that day around", she continued.

"Yes but Mrs. Walters, things changed and as for as I saw, no one in that castle is has ruthless as I saw on that day."

Some might be rude, assholes, bitches (might not be fair on that one), handsome flirts and liars but I haven't witnessed any of them being that cruel, but thinking about it, they don't really do things around me. Like vampire business or whatever they call it.

But I know they do horrible things....

"I like you, I do sweetie but I can't take your word for it"

"Then take mine." Andrew stands up and walks in front of his parents. "Please. I know I asked a lot for Elle by putting the pack in danger but with the vampires help we might not"

"Or it could be the opposite. Putting the pack in more risk than anything"

"I promise that I won't let that happen." I don't know where this level of confidence came from but I know it's Eva. "I was to be the Luna of this pack, I might not ever be, but I will protect this pack against anything that comes against it and both Andrew and I will set out ground rules, where are boundaries and IF anyone cross the rules there will be punishment"

"The vampire king will be responsible for his people and we will be responsible for ours. No blood shed if we all just work together."

I look at all of them in the room and all have mixed emotions. Andrew looks conflicted which I don't know why. Jackson has impressed all over his face and Veronica looks worried.

Jackson looks to his wife. "What do you think plum?"

"I am still not sure about this, but considering what you just said I believe that you will protect this pack"

"Sooo is it a yes?"

They looked unsure before slowly nodding. "It's a yes"

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. Thank goddess.

We were interrupted with the door burst open.

"Did I hear vampires are coming here?" Jessica asks jumping excitedly.

She's a weird kid.

With having everything confirmed, all we needed was the pack's consent.

Am an idiot. How could I ever think these people would fight for me. They all hate me. Andrew is to announce the situation to them in 10 minutes and am freaking out.

I start pacing and biting my lip with sweat rolling down my face.

What if they kick me out? It was hard enough to try and convince Andrew's parents. Now I have to convince these people that have hated me all my life to do this for me.

"I'm the one that's going to tell them. Shouldn't I be the one worried?"

I turn around and Andrew has that million dollar smile I've grown to love the past two days.

I stop pacing and look at him worried. "The question is why aren't you worried?"

He shrugs and put his hand in his pocket. "I just get this level of confidence ever since I got the alpha title"

I slowly walk up to him with my head down and playing with my hair. "So does that mean when you're the leader of the pack you never have fear?"

He meets me half way and pull my hands to his chest. "I never said that"

I looked back up and he was looking right back at me. It felt so right looking into those chocolate brown eyes. It's like a dream.

Jackson shouts from the door, "It's time Andrew!"

"Coming" He says, not taking his eyes from mine. "It'll be fine. I promise" He caresses the back of my hand with his thumb before he leans in and kiss me on the fore head.

He lets go of my hand and walks outside. I was getting butterflies from that moment we had I almost forgot why he left.

I don't even get butterflies.

I snap back to reality and followed behind Andrew. Outside was filled with everyone waiting by the platform where they would do announcing or special events.

People were mumbling to each other of what this announcement could be. Some look excited, some worried and some just didn't care.

I walked behind the platform where no one could see me and waited for Andrew to begin.

After 5 minutes of waiting Andrew finally started.

He tapped the mic to check, then he began. "You might be wondering why I called you all here today."

Some mumbled agreeing and he continued. "Some of you might have seen Elle Cooper around here the other day and you might be confused since she left 3 months ago.... when I rejected her"

It still hurt till this day hearing that.

"Well the reason is that she got in some trouble while she was gone"

"Then why the hell did she come back?!" Someone in the crowd shouted.

"Because.. this is her home" He said sternly. "And we're going to protect her"

"Like hell we are!" The same guy shouted shouted.

"Hey! Would you shut up?" Another guy shouted else shouted.

"No one else interrupt me! Now Elle has recently discovered she's not exactly like the rest of us" he pauses for a few seconds then he continued. "She's a succubus"

Everyone gasped and started whispering among themselves.

"Everyone quiet down" Andrew instructed but everyone are still whispering. "Guys!" He tried again and still didn't work. "Shut up!"

Everyone stopped talking and turn their attention to him.

"Elle is half wolf, half succubus. The succubus side of her did things she didn't have control over. I won't go in to detail but she hurt some people"

"How we know she's not going to hurt us?!" A girl in the crowd asked and everyone started agreeing with him.

"She won't, because that side of her is out for revenge on the demons" he pause to let everyone take in everything.

He continued, "I am here asking you all, to help me fight these demons that are out for revenge for something that Elle had no control over."

"I know we all must have known how we treated her before she left and we treated her terribly. So if any of you are sorry or the slightest bit guilty for the way you mistreated her you will, protect her, show her kindness, watch her back and she will do the same"

Everyone was quiet, looking at each other, looking for the first person to respond.

"I'll do it!" The guy who asked the other one to shut up shouted first.

"I'll do it" A girl shouted.

Every few minutes past and a person or two would agree. Now most of the pack as agreed but not all.

"Is that all?" Andrew asked one last time but no one answered. "Ok, then go do something. For the rest of you who chose to fight, there is one more thing you need to know"

"We are partnering with the vampires"

"Oh hell naw!" Someone shouted from the crowd and everyone started arguing and shouting.

"Hey! Hey! Quiet down. This was the only way we could agree to this. The Vampires are wanting to help her so that's what's going to happen"

"So why can't the Vampires do it themselves?"

"The more the better. So what do you say? Still in?"

Everyone looked unsure about but they all agreed in the end. Andrew dismissed them all and they would be updated.

We just finished dinner with a very excited Jessica and annoyed parents. Sometimes Andrew and I would meet eyes but I would look away really fast like I didn't see him but I did it a lot so it was definitely obvious.

I went up to Andrew's room, leaving him done stairs cleaning up.  I used the bathroom and cleaned myself up. As I am walking out the bathroom and Andrew came in.

"We're you the rat?"

That's not a question you hear everyday. "Excuse me?"

"No sorry. I didn't mean it like that. It's that the guys I had at the boarders told me they heard footsteps the other night but only found a dead rat..."

"Um yeah that was me. Sorry"

"It's ok." He walks over to his hamper and took his shirt off and throw it in there. Oh my god.

I was so distracted from his abs I didn't hear his question. "Uh? What?" I quickly avert my eyes before he noticed.

"A rat?"

"What about it?"

"Nothing" He laughs walking into the bathroom.

What was that about?

A few minutes passed and Andrew walked out with a towel around his waist. Oh shit.

I look at him in the face so he doesn't realize I was checking him out.

"So um I can't keep living off your clothes" I pulled on the shorts of his I had on and doing that it almost fell off me.

He laughs at me pulling up the shorts. "Yeah don't worry, mom will get some clothes for you tomorrow."

"Thanks"

He walks over to his draws and take out a grey sweat pants. I turn away from him and sat on the bed facing the other way. I heard a few shuffling before I felt the bed dip. I took that as my cue and laid down beside him.

"Thank you for-"

"You need to stop saying thank you"

"But I want to"

"And I appreciate it but you don't have to tell me every time. If it's anything I should be thanking you"

I looked at him confused "Why?"

He looks at me. "Because you let me in your life"

"Am glad I did" I smiled at him. I could see the same look in eyes I couldn't pin point.

He smiled back at me and looked up to the ceiling. Then he starts laughing, "A rat"

I scuffed. "Oh come on, It was the only thing I saw"

"Yeah ok" he laughs.

I playfully hit him and start laughing with him. "Shut up"

The rest of the night we laughed and he kept making fun of my rat distraction until we fell asleep.
