54. Sinful Book 1
By 6:30 am, my eyes were still open, I couldn’t sleep. Everything just kept tugging at my mind, feeding me thoughts I knew I shouldn’t be having.
Even if something was wrong, would Antonio tell me about it? I mean everything that I knew about him, people told me, and they always thought I knew about it, so I could believe there was something going on that Antonio wasn’t telling me about.
I got up from the bed, replacing my body with pillows so Antonio’s hand that was around my waist would sit perfectly.
I took a hot shower and got ready for work, I was going to be early. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to go to work, but I knew I didn’t want to stay home either, there was nowhere I could have peace of mind.
I didn’t even bother having breakfast, I was too out of it to remember anyway.
When I got to work, I saw the door to my office slightly open, and someone was inside. So I leaned on Melissa’s desk, waiting for the person to walk out.
My door was fully open and Dan came out with sticky notes and a pen in his hands.
So it was him.
“Get back in there! You have a lot of explaining to do” I yelled at him. He went back into my office without a word.
“Sewa, it’s not what you think,” he started.
“No, I think it’s exactly what I think!” I shot.
“Before any explanation, what is your real name?” I asked him.
“Dan Summers,” He said. That was the exact same name on the paper Melissa gave me, the same name that Antonio said was fake.
“You bloody liar! If you don’t tell me right now I’ll call the police and tell them you’re a stalker and you tried to kill me!” I threatened him.
“I’m not lying, my name is Dan Summers,” he said and pulled out his identity card, showing it to me, it had Dan Summers written on it.
“So why couldn’t my boyfriend find anything on you? It said no one with that name existed as you!” I asked him.
“Your boyfriend!” He laughed.
“Antonio?” He asked, I didn’t bother answering him.
“What business do you have with him? And what’s with the anonymous letters?” I asked him.
“I was only looking out for you. Antonio is a very wicked man, he has done damage to a lot of people” Dan said.
“Do you know why he couldn’t find me?” He asked and I shook my head.
“That’s because he did find me, but he doesn’t want you to know about me, because of the information I have of him,” he said.
“What information?” I asked him.
“Well have a sit, I’ll tell you everything” he said.
“This better be worth my time,” I told him as I sat down and crossed my arms.
Lord knows I was scared, this man claimed he had information about Antonio that I didn’t know, this man proved to me in seconds that Antonio was lying to me. I didn’t want to know what he was on about, but I knew I had no choice, if I wanted to know how to confront Antonio, I had to know what he was hiding.
Once again, I was getting information about Antonio from someone I didn’t even know. I gave Antonio the opportunity to let me know, but he didn’t tell me anything. I was hurt and I didn’t even know what Antonio was hiding yet.
Dan pulled out a picture from his wallet, a picture of a woman and a small boy, the picture was taken recently, that much I could tell when he handed the picture over to me.
There was a very pretty lady in a white dress, she had blonde hair and pretty brown eyes, she had a boy in her arms, he looked like he was no more than seven years old. The boy had a smile on his face, while the lady wasn’t too happy about being photographed.
“That’s Samantha,” Dan said, he had a smile on his face.
“Who is she?” I asked.
“Well, as you know, before you, Antonio didn’t do relationships, but Samantha was the closest thing he had to a girlfriend, they split a couple years ago, when Antonio found out she was pregnant, and the child was his child” Dan said. I looked up at him immediately.
“Yes, the boy in the picture is Antonio’s son,” he said.
“And in case you’re thinking, yes, Antonio knows about him, but he refused to take responsibility for the child. Samantha couldn’t abort the baby because she had aborted a few times before, and the doctor told her she had a low chance of surviving if she took the baby out, out of fear, she decided to keep the baby, she told Antonio but he said never wanted to see her again. Samantha tried everything she could to get Antonio to come get his son, but Antonio refused, he even threatened to put her in jail,” Dan said.
“What’s your relationship with her?” I asked Dan, because there had to be something between them if he was going through all these lengths to get to me because of her.
“We grew up together, been best friends. I was against whatever she had with Antonio, but she didn’t listen to me, and when this happened, I couldn’t leave her, instead, my love for her increased. We started dating last year, but she’s still not happy, not while Diego is with her,” he said.
“She doesn’t like the boy, and I’m afraid she’d do something she’d regret to him. She always spaces out anytime she’s with him, always calling him Antonio, and yelling at him for no reason. Quite frankly, I know she doesn’t want to get back with Antonio or anything, but she just wants the child gone. I told her I was going to find a way to get Antonio to take him, so she has been calm,” Dan said.
I didn’t know tears were flowing freely from my eyes, until I felt it on my hands.
It was horrible and messed up, Antonio was horrible and messed up. His own fucking child for crying out loud, why would he do such a thing? Like I knew he hated children but I didn’t think it was up to that extent.
“Samantha was the sweetest person, she still is, but I think she was so messed up about the whole thing that she started losing her mind,” Dan continued.
“Why didn’t she take him to an orphanage then?” I asked him.
“I suggested the same thing, but she said she had a feeling that Antonio would come for him,” Dan said. My heart felt heavy for her.
“Now, she’s threatening to kill the boy if Antonio doesn’t come to get him, and I know it would haunt her forever, it’s the reason I’m doing this,” he said.
I took a deep breath and thought about Antonio and how he lied to me, just to cover the child up.
Saying I was hurt, was an understatement. I was more than hurt.
