###Chapter 526 Divorce Certificate – Part 5
As Ivelle Astley followed the two people in front of her, she was a little confused. But because the two walked so fast, she didn't even have a chance to speak at all.
When they reached the hall on the first floor, William Preston stepped forward quickly. Then with a standard social smile on his face, he greeted "Welcome, Boss Astley!"
When Ivelle looked up, she saw that it was Jordan who came in with the people from Astley Group. They were all dressed in suits and black shoes and were especially energetic.
She couldn't help but chide herself at that moment. Of course, it was not just an ordinary meeting. Otherwise, William Preston would not personally attend to it.
She bowed her head and followed William. She occasionally smiled when she looked up and showed the way to the people from the Astley Group from time to time.
Jordan Astley and William were implicit to each other. Obviously, they had never communicated with each other before. Because whenever they would talk to each other, they looked more like acquaintances. Their smiles were like that of two people who had an unexpected encounter at a shopping mall.
Suddenly, Linda walked next to Ivelle as she saw something was wrong. She reminded Ivelle, "You are here for work. You can put other things aside for the meantime. You cannot afford to be distracted with your personal issues."
Ivelle nodded, exhaled, and went inside the office. Linda had arranged for the secretary to pour the tea.
At that moment, Jordan who had been chatting with William suddenly said, "Boss William, I have just taken a look at your staff members. This Miss Ivelle is your secretary?"
William nodded, looked at Ivelle, and smiled at Jordan. He told him, "Well, she was new in our company. But she was well-abled and had great potential."
Jordan nodded and said thoughtfully, "No wonder you let her take over our Astley project."
Ivelle frowned at how Jordan suddenly changed the subject.
"Probably because the atmosphere was a little tense, the secretary who was pouring water to the teacups scalded his hand. In the quiet atmosphere, his hiss was audible enough for the people in the office to hear.
William frowned and said, "Boss Jordan, let's just continue to discuss this project in Cape Oaks Village."
Jordan nodded but did not speak. He just looked at the little secretary who had scalded his hand and said, "Have a rest if you are hurt."
His remark was inexplicable. But after a pause, he suddenly said, "Would you mind pouring tea for us, Miss Ivelle?"
Ivelle didn't open her mouth but Linda spoke for her. She respectfully addressed Jordan, "Boss Jordan, I'm really sorry about your request. Although Ivelle is Boss William's secretary, she is now in charge of Astley's project. She would be explaining the specific plan to you later, so maybe it would be best for someone else to serve the tea."
Jordan raised his eyebrow and countered, "She would just be pouring some tea. I don't think it would affect everyone's work. But if you think my request is unreasonable, then forget about it."
Then he looked at Director Kent who was sitting close to him and said, "Director Kent, I hope this matter about the tea should not in any way bother you."
Director Kent nodded and smiled gently. And the atmosphere felt awkward.
This just made Preston's people seem stingy, and Linda felt uncomfortable for a moment.
William opened his mouth and regarded Ivelle with a cold look. Then he told her, "Secretary Ivelle, please come here. There is no reason for you not to pour our guests some tea."
Ivelle nodded and immediately got up. Then she took the teapot from the secretary beside her.
Meanwhile, Director Kent also stood. Then she smiled and said, "You are welcome here. Everyone can sit in this conference room together. After all, we have to work together in the future. For a long time in the future, there shouldn't be any discord between you and me."
William smiled deeply and said, "It's natural, but we should do it. I also have to do it well."
Jordan also looked at her and said with a caring smile on his face, "Well, now that Secretary Ivelle had served us all, don't bother. You haven't recovered from your foot injury yet. Just take a sit and have a good rest."
It would not be strange to say this on weekdays, or when there is no one else in the room, or even when other people would say it. But because it came from the mouth of Jordan, it didn't sit well with them.
With the ambiguous smell in the air, everyone looked at each other. The implied meaning of his words was evident, especially in front of Ivelle and William's staff.
Everyone just let that moment naturally flow. For them, it seemed that there was something with the way Jordan regarded Director Kent.
Director Kent was also slightly stunned. Suddenly, her flawless face blushed, and it looked delicate and gorgeous on her.
Meanwhile, William set his eyes on Ivelle and continued to discuss the project with Jordan a moment later.
Cape Oaks Village is a tourism project developed by Preston. The main goal of the project was to attract tourists from all over the world with a variety of valuable jade articles to introduce the Astley Group's AI intelligence. Because Preston planned to use artificial intelligence to develop a ten thousand square meters peach orchard, the purpose was also to attract tourists.
And Astley Group's AI had also been widely publicized in the country. Therefore, it was only natural that the Astley Group would also build a huge AI Science and Technology Museum in Cape Oaks Village as a model hall to promote.
As the two bosses discussed the project, everyone in the conference room naturally listened quietly.
There were not many people from the Astley Group. In addition to Director Kent, Felix Stewart, and Jordan, there were only two staff members present who would be specifically responsible for that side of City A.
It was not Ivelle's first time to pour water and serve tea. That was why it was unexpected for Ivelle to trip over and fall to the ground the moment she passed by Director Kent to pour some more water.
An audible hissing sound was heard as the hot water in the kettle spilled all over Ivelle. Linda immediately assisted her to stand. She was a little worried when she told Ivelle, "I'll take you to the bathroom so we can deal with it."
With that, Linda was about to assist her to go the bathroom when Director Kent called, "The project meeting will start in a minute. Isn't Miss Ivelle going to make a project report? I'm afraid we cannot delay this for too long. Our Boss Jordan still has other work schedules in the afternoon."
Linda frowned as she tried to reason, "Ivelle just got herself scalded. She needs to go out to at least apply first aid to it."
Director Kent nodded in a very understanding manner. Her voice was very concerned as she said, "I know. I have no other intention in mind with what I told you. I just want to remind you that we don't have that much time. You go quickly, Miss Ivelle. Make sure that will not leave a scar."
Jordan and William naturally noticed such a scene. William glanced at Jordan carefully, then looked at Ivelle and asked, "Is everything all right?"
Ivelle nodded and replied, "Don't worry. The water is not very hot. I'll just go out and change my clothes. I'll be right back."
William nodded and said, "I have extra clothes in the lounge of my office. Change your clothes and come back here immediately."
Ivelle was stupefied for a moment but then nodded in agreement. At least Linda didn't have to accompany her. She smiled and said, "It's all right."
Out of the conference room, she went directly to William's office. She couldn't help it. She could hardly buy any clothes outside now.
Inside William's lounge, there was a bed, a bathroom, a wardrobe, a sofa, and a table. The furnishings inside were simple yet elegant, but it was also cold, as close to the indifference in his bones.
When Ivelle opened the wardrobe, there were several suits and ties. Some shirts and ties were neatly folded. And there was true, as he said, a suite of women's clothes, which looked familiar to Ivelle. She just could not remember where she had seen it. As she looked at her clock and saw that it was already 01:30, she immediately rinsed the scalded parts of her body with cold water and changed into a new set of clothes.
Surprisingly, the size of the dress was just right. But because she had some scalds on her skin just now, the redness caused by it was conspicuous.
Because she was in a hurry for the meeting, she no longer paid too much attention to it and went straight to the conference room.
