###Chapter 528 Divorce Certificate – Part 7
William Preston glanced at Ivelle Astley faintly. Then he smiled and said, "Boss Jordan Astley really took pity on the jade. I should have thought of this kind of thing first. I wonder where Felix Stewart would buy it. By the way, Linda, you should also buy some medicine for Secretary Ivelle's scald. It is not good for your skin to have any scars."
Linda stood up and said, "It is my fault I forgot about it. So, I should be the one to buy it."
With that, she slipped away and left.
Ivelle looked at William, smiled slightly, and said, "Thank you!"
He raised his eyebrows and replied, "It's nothing."
When Felix came back, he handed the bag in his hand to Director Kent and said, "Miss Kent, let me help you deal with it."
But Director Kent shook her head and refused, "No, thank you, Felix. I'm all right. I'll be having dinner in a minute. I'll just do it after dinner."
Linda came back soon after. Felix just came back a little earlier than her. Linda followed Ivelle and handed her a box of plasters for scalds and burnt ointment. Then she said, "I'll wash my hands first, then I'll help put it on your hand."
As soon as she left, William took the ointment from Ivelle's hand, sat at the chair beside her, and said, "I'll apply it for you."
Suddenly Ivelle thought, 'What's wrong with you?'
Before she could react, William had taken out the ointment. There were cotton swabs in the ointment. He squeezed out the medicine, pulled Ivelle towards him, and put her hand on his leg. He then carefully applied the ointment to her hand.
When Linda came out after washing her hands, she saw that William was applying the ointment on Ivelle. So, she asked in surprise, "Boss William, what are you doing?"
William looked up and looked at her faintly with black eyes as he replied, "What's wrong with it?"
Linda immediately replied, "Nothing. Everything's fine!" Then Linda tugged at the tissue to wipe her hands.
For a moment, the atmosphere was a little strange. Although the food had been ordered, it had not yet been served. As they waited, William applied the burnt ointment on Ivelle. Jordan had a cold expression on his face. He was not speaking and everyone just consciously closed their eyes.
Meanwhile, Ivelle felt like she was on pins and needles as she was being watched by several people. She couldn't help but feel her cold sweat. But William, with an indifferent face, seemed to not care about Jordan.
After putting the ointment on Ivelle, he directly took her hand and blew it. Then he said softly, "It should not leave a scar. When we go back in the evening, I'll put ointment on your hand again. Just a few more times. And remember not to let it get wet by water at night. You can't just do whatever you want."
This remark was too ambiguous, and Jordan's gloomy eyes fell on them.
So, Director Kent asked inappropriately, "Does Boss William live with Miss Ivelle?"
William seemed to nod naturally and said, "Yes!"
Because Jordan's two employees did not know what was going on, they cluelessly said, "Boss William is so kind to Miss Ivelle. You two seem to have a good relationship at first glance, that is why it is really enviable that you two can work together and take care of each other."
For a moment, Ivelle didn't know what to say. She wanted to explain, but she was afraid that if she said something, it would just seem to mean something on purpose.
So, everyone simply fell silent. Soon, the waiter served their food and everyone changed the subject.
After they had their meal, Jordan's two employees directly put Jordan and Director Kent into a pile.
It was not easy to finish the meal immediately, but Jordan had to attend another meeting. Felix was supposed to send Director Kent back, but he had other things to do. Linda, therefore, asked Ivelle to send them back directly.
Ivelle didn't even have a chance to refuse, so she was pushed into the car by Linda.
Inside the car, Director Kent didn't speak. And because she wasn't saying anything, Ivelle didn't open her mouth either.
After a moment of silence, she suddenly asked, "You left Boss William because of me?"
Ivelle was stupefied for a moment. Then she shook her head, smiled, and said, "No, it has nothing to do with anyone else."
Afterward, Ivelle saw Director Kent held her knee. It was probably because the air conditioner in the car was too low and the temperature inside was a little too cold. Ivelle pressed some buttons in the air conditioner and turned up the temperature.
Then, Director Kent opened her mouth and replied, "You are quite aware of yourself. You know that you are not worthy of him, so you left by yourself. Speaking of which, you are not a nuisance." Then she glanced faintly at the air conditioner that Ivelle turned up and said, "Thank you!"
Ivelle smiled. She didn't argue with her about it. She just said, "I'll take you to the hospital later. You've twisted it twice in a row. It may hurt badly."
She nodded and politely said, "Okay. You're right anyway."
After arriving at the hospital, the doctor told them that Director Kent's foot had a ligament strain and she needed to lie at home for a few days. The doctor prescribed some medicine for her.
Meanwhile, Director Kent spoke almost impolitely, "You can take me back later. It would be inconvenient for me to take a taxi!"
But Ivelle understood. Indeed, it would be inconvenient for her to take a taxi from the hospital. So she nodded and agreed.
Inside the car, Linda called Ivelle, "What took you so long? Did something happen?"
"No, I brought her to the hospital. The doctor prescribed some medicine. Talk to William. I'll be right back."
"Shit, Ivelle! Are you out of your mind? This woman is robbing you of your man! Now you're taking care of her? Do you plan on being hailed as a saint?"
Linda's voice was too loud that even though they were not conversing on the loud speaker, the people around Ivelle could still hear it.
Ivelle was stupefied for a moment and looked at Director Kent awkwardly. She looked at the scenery outside the window in a daze, somewhat distracted.
"All right, I'm driving. I'll talk to you later!" And with that, Ivelle ended the call and continued to drive.
Suddenly, Director Kent said, "If it hadn't been for Jordan, you and I might have become friends."
Ivelle was completely stupefied and looked sideways at her. She didn't understand.
Then Director Kent smiled and said, "At least romantic rivals can't be friends, can they?"
After a pause, she continued to say, "I'm curious why you left Jordan. He is sincere to you, at least in my opinion."
"Different people would have their own struggles and difficulties in life. And often, people are dictated by fate. If two people who had walked a long way were fated to have their connection come to an end, then they would naturally part ways." As soon as Ivelle said this, the red light on the stoplight lit and she stopped.
Director Kent was silent for a moment before saying, "Ivelle, probably this is my fate. I think I will be happier than you. At least, I will not leave him because of anything."
Ivelle smiled and stopped talking.
When she returned to the office, Linda brought her a glass of ice water and asked, "What do you think?" Are you particularly jealous when you met your rival in love?"
Ivelle simply replied, "No." After drinking a mouthful of ice water, she immediately felt very comfortable. It was still so hot in August.
Linda slurped at her reply, sat across from her, and sternly asked, "No? Just what kind of a woman are you? Do you really want to end everything with Jordan?"
The truth was, Ivelle had been entangled with this topic for too long. And she was not in the mood to talk more. She deliberately changed the topic, "Is Valentine's Day coming in two days? We'd better make an appointment with Grace and have dinner together."
Linda nodded and paused before saying, "To be honest, the ointment I bought for you today was given to me by Felix."
"Felix?"
Linda nodded and explained, "As soon as I went out, I met him. Jordan had asked him to go out and buy ointment for you. By the way, he also bought ointment for Director Kent. Then when he met me, he knew I was about to buy it for you, so he gave me the ointment directly."
Ivelle couldn't get over the hurdle in her heart and felt more entangled than anything. She gasped slightly and didn't fully comprehend Linda's words.
When Linda saw Ivelle fell helplessly silent, she told her, "You know what Ivelle, it seemed that no matter what had happened between the two of you, it was very obvious that you and Jordan still cared about each other. In that case, why are you torturing yourself that much? Today, you and William unwittingly got so close. You even had William put the ointment for you. Didn't you see Jordan's expression? It was so black as if it turned to carbon."
