Alpha Benna
I smirked when one of my men, who was closer to me than the rest, told me that he had sent men to invade Alpha Maseno's kingdom and create chaos.
That way, I will not only take my revenge on him, but I will also get to know if Kiara was there or not.
I have been on the lookout for her, but none of my spies in his kingdom have told me about her whereabouts or if she was there. I have tried threatening them and imposing my power on them, but it has bore no fruit.
I have also asked my beta to help me look for her, but that's something he was never going to do. I know that he never liked it when I always had Kiara here, and anytime she would run away, he would say that I should let go of her.
My beta finding Kiara would be easy because he has this superpower that would make even the most secretive person in the whole world spill out all his secrets to him. Going to Alpha Maseno's mansion and finding out whether Kiara was there or not would have been easy for him, but I know that I can't build hopes on him.
This is something I needed to take care of myself because enough was enough, and there was no way I could wait for so long. And that's why, when my men came up with this idea, I didn't say no to it but asked them to go ahead with it.
I have tried so many times to talk my beta into helping me, but he always wanted to know the reason why I wanted her so badly. Some secrets can't be shared, even with your better half, and the secret behind wanting Kiara at all costs falls under that kind of secret.
"You've sent our men to go and create chaos in Maseno's masnion, but I doubt if this will be beneficila." Speaking of the devil, no, this was thinking of the devil since I was thinking about him at the moment. His voice jarred me from my thoughts as he patted my back.
I rolled my eyes at him and turned to face him. I hadn't told him about sneaking our men into Alpha Maseno's kingdom, so how did he know? That was a question for another day. I had picked something in his sentence too, so I asked, "Since when did you grow close to that son of a demon?"
He furrowed his brows at me, crossed his hands on his chest, and asked, "What do you mean?"
"I mean." I walked to the couch, sat, and continued, "You just referred to that demon by his name. No alpha, no title. Are you perhaps close to him? Should I be worried?" I asked him.
He chuckled, shook his head, and came to sit beside me. "You really like overthinking, don't you? You should have been a writer." He laughed. "Anyway, how is that chaos going to help you?" He raised his brow at me.
I only chuckled and poured a glass of wine for both of us.
The chaos created will cause everyone to run out of the kingdom. They won't be able to hide Kiara anymore because they will be forced to take her somewhere else for protection, and that is the point where my men will kidnap her. That was the plan, but I didn't share it with him.
"Just don't worry. Saying it aloud may jinx everything." I winked at him and leaned on the couch to relax my back as I sipped on the wine.
My phone rang, and I quickly sat upright, swiping on the answer button when the head guard's name flashed on the screen.
"Alpha," he called.
“Have you found her yet?“ I went directly to the question, not wanting to beat around the bush. As a trusted man among all those I have sent out, he was the one who was supposed to go inside and find Kiara as the rest made a scene outside to distract the soldiers from getting inside.
“Not yet, Alpha.“ Came the disappointing response.
“What do you mean by not yet?" My voice lowered as my fists clenched in anger. The smirk on my beta's face as if saying, 'I told you,' wasn't helping at all but fueling my anger.
"We have checked everywhere, but she is nowhere to be seen. We have held all the workers inside hostage, threatening that they should tell us where she is or we will shoot them, but none of them are talking." He sighed.
"You should keep looking. You shouldn't dare come back here without Kiara. You have conducted these surprise searches in every kingdom in this world, but you have never found her. How on earth will you say that she is not there as well? That's the only goddamn place we haven't searched and I am sure that she is somewhere around there, hiding and looking at you with a victorius look on her face since you haven't seen her." I said this while walking out of my office.
It seemed like my beta had decided not to let me have peace because he was now making faces at me and saying the word loser to me.
I have paid a visit to every pack in the world because I come second in authority after Alpha Maseno, and Kiara is nowhere among these places. I was left with only one place to go, and that was his kingdom. If she weren't there, would it mean that she was dead? Because after the blowout at the dessert, I have never seen or heard of her again.
“If she were dead, you would have found her body when you sent your men to go and excavate that area.“ My conscience reminded me, and I found myself nodding.
Although I had a hunch that she might be in Alpha Maseno's hands, I always had this feeling that she wasn't, because if she were there, wouldn't she have spilled my dark secret long ago?
I still won't be in my alpha position, and the whole world would know about the real me, who was only known by her.
“Where could she be?“ I asked myself while pacing around the hallway. The annual meeting for the alphas and their subjects was arriving in two months, and that was why I saw the need to speed up my moves in looking for her.
I know Kiara like the back of my hand. She might be hiding in Alpha Maseno's mansion, waiting for the annual meeting to arrive and spill out my secrets in front of everyone.
There was no way I would want her to drag me in front of the whole world. “I want her back at all costs. Dig every room in that mansion until you find her; am I clear?“ I asked the head guard.
“Yes, Alpha. We will make sure to find her," he responded.
“And tell the other men that they should be careful and that none of them should be caught. In case that happens, they shouldn't say who sent them and what they are doing there. Am I clear?“ I added.
“I will tell them, Alpha Benna," he replied.
“Good. I'll be waiting for the good news.“ I hung up and walked back to my office. Slumping on the couch, I leaned on the backrest and closed my eyes. “Kiara, I'll find you no matter where you are hidden inside." I said this inwardly while taking a large sip from the glass.
