Alpha Maseno
“Enough crying. Let's get into the real business.“ I said while breaking the hug from Miss Olvia.
“What business? Don't tell me you are thinking of working after all this." She asked, and her eyes narrowed at me.
I shook my head in denial and replied, "Not business business,” even though I knew I wasn't making any sense. “The business I am talking about is my revenge toward Alpha Benna.“
“Unbelivable!“ She scoffed, “What's wrong with you, Maseno? You are thinking of revenging on that fool instead of looking at Sony's case. Why would his private jet blow all of a sudden? Why don't you check on that first? Don't you think a foul play has been made here?“ She asked.
Kiara and Carlos nodded, obviously on her side.
“I am talking about the same thing." I responded. “I am so sure that Alpha Benna has to do with this since I killed his men a few days ago. I just need to find a way to make him confess that it is his doing.“
Kiara sighed and asked, “How are we going to do that? He is so hot-headed, and he'll never agree to what he's done. All my life, I have tried to make him confess that he is the one behind my mother's and uncle's deaths, but he never admits it. I had once tried to make him admit in front of the press that he never adopted me, like he told me, but I was his sex slave, but the plan backfired.“ She was almost in tears.
“And that is why you'll be of help to me, Kiara.“ I said to her.
Her eyes widen in shock. “You are not taking me back to the man who killed my childhood, are you?“
“Hell no. I won't do such a thing. I just want you to tell me all you remember about him. All his weaknesses, all his dirty jobs, don't seize anything.“ I replied.
“Telling you isn't a problem; the question is, how are we going to find the evidence? All I have of him are memories, nothing else. Unless his men agree to betray him and act as witnesses," She shruggled her shoulders and then slumped her shoulder's backwards.
“True.“ Carlos said, “Why don't we try asking his beta? Kelvin had been trying to make you trust him. This would be the only chance."
"No, we can't.“ I refused. “I really don't think Beta Kelvin really wants to be on our side. He will just make us look like fools. Trust me.“ I sighed, trying to make them understand.
“I doubt.“ Kiara responded, “The main reason he insisted that the only pack I would seek refuge in should be yours was because he wanted you to use me to bring Benna down. If he were a bad person, that day he sneaked at our pack, and you ended up beating him, he wouldn't have saved me from doctor Kedeva and the librarian. He would have let them take me to Alpha Benna.“
I knitted the brows together. “The librarian and Dr. Kedeva wanted to take you to Alpha Benna." When she nodded, I said, “I am sure they were kidding you. I mean, everyone knows that you were running away from him, so they must have been making fun of you.“
“I knew it. I don't know why I said it anyway.“ I heard her mumbling under her breath.
"Look, Kiara,” I said, tilting her head so that she could look me in the eye. “If it were true that Kedeva was Benna's spy, he would have told him by then about you being here.“
She chuckled, snorted, and yanked my hand off her chin. "I still can't believe that you don't know the reason he hasn't done that yet. He freaking knows that if he tells Benna about me, it will be the end of him. The only thing that Benna wants is me, and once I get back to his arms, he won't hesitate to expose him to you since he'll be done with him."
“That can never happen, Kiara.“ I said it in a low tone, already about to lose my temper. “I know that you and him aren't buddies, and maybe you will never be, but can you at least stop accusing him of things he'll never do?“
She pressed her lips together, the way she does it when she is annoyed.
Rising from the chair she was sitting on, she said, “I'll be going back home. Anytime you want to know about Alpa Benna, just tell me. But with this thing you are doing right now, I am not involved until the day you come to accept that Dr. Kedeva isn't who you think he is.“
“Kiara, wait,” I called when she reached the door. "Can't we have a smooth conversation without fighting about Kedeva? This is not the time for division. We are supposed to work together and give justice to Sony. He was your friend, for god's sake."
“Giving him justice will be done by getting rid of Alpha Benna and his spy, Kedeva.“ She pressed on.
I ran my fingers through my tangled hair and sighed. I looked at Miss Olivia and Carlos, asking for help, but they both shrugged their shoulders. “Don't tell me that you both think Kedeva is the culptit here." I asked them.
“We are not saying he is,” Miss Olivia responded, then looked at Carlos, who nodded as if urging her to continue. “Why don't you just carry out an investigation and see if what Kiara is saying is the truth? That would help clear up any misunderstandings between them.“
“You are not asking me to invetigate a brother, are you?“ I asked, my voice cold and low. “Look, if you don't want to help me look into this, you better go. I can do this all by myself, got it?“ Annoyance was evident in my voice, and frustration was on my face.
Why don't they just agree that Dr. Kedeva would never be the person they are trying to paint him to be?
Before they could say anything, the hospital door was pushed open, and Dr. Kedeva walked in, pushing Kiara aside aggressively. “I am sorry, Maseno. I heard about Sony's demise. I am so sorry.“ He said.
Carlos and Miss Olivia ran to help Kiara before she fell to the ground. Getting back to her feet, she snorted, “How do you know about Sony's demise when the news isn't out yet? Oh, how can I forget that you are the one who blew him out?“ She crossed her hands under her boobs.
“Kiara, not again.“ I slammed my fists on the table and stood to glare at her.
She raised her hands in surrender and said, “Fine. I am sorry, Kedeva. You didn't do it. In fact, no one did it. The moon gods had planned that Sony would die this way, and that's why it happened, okay? But let me tell you something: history has repeated itself: first it was your mother, now your partner, and next it will be your dad or grandad. Until everyone you claim to love is killed, you'll come to know that I, Kiara, never lie, but until then, the culprit will remain the same, doctor Kedeva.“
“Kiara!“ I yelled, and looking at the guards, I barked, "What are y'all looking for?“ I asked the two guards who had followed me to the hospital, “Take her back home to the duengeon, now!“ I demanded.
