Alpha Maseno
I sat back on my chair and massaged my head. Never have I ever thought that one day I'd be forced to lock the person who was carrying my child in the dungeon. She has provoked me enough, though.
I have been warning her since the day she started accusing Dr.Kedeva falsely, but it was evident that she wasn't paying heed to me.
I know that what I have done is out of control, but she needs to learn a lesson.
An angry click made me snap my head toward the door. Miss Olivia, with a hard glare pinned on me, muttered, "I am so disappointed in you. Sakina never gave birth to this son," and walked out of the office, dragging Carlos with her.
"You are my headguard, Carlos. You are to remain with me." I mind-linked him, knowing that they were just overreacting.
"Not until you reflect on your childish act," he responded, and then shut me out.
“That was harsh, don't you think?“ Doctor Kedeva's voice pulled me back into the office. He sat on the chair across from mine and sighed.
“I don't think so. No one ever curses my brother and goes scot-free, or have you forgotten our pact, brother?“ I asked him.
He looked at me for a second and, shaking his head, responded, “I'll never. It's our pact for life. It's just that she's pregnant with your child, and I am sure if Sony were here, he would have never appreciated what you've done.“
I nodded. “I know. I will be releasing her, but not anytime soon. I'll let her stay there for a day or two before taking her out so that she can reflect on her behavior.“
“If you think she deserves it, I have no problem," he said, leaning toward the table and continuing, "I just want you to know that even if you let her roam around freely and curse me the way she wants, I won't be bothered at all. I know the reason why she hates me, though, so I...
I cut him off and said, “I've always wanted to ask you, Kedeva.“ I leaned on the desk and placed my chin on my hands. “Why does she hate you?“
He chuckled, and then, wearing a serious face, he responded, “What I am about to tell you now will probably make you mad, but I have to since you have asked.“
“Is it that bad?“ I asked him.
“Depending on how you see it, she hates me since I swore from day one that I'd tell you she never forgot her memories, but she's been pretending to.“ He admitted.
"What are you talking about? What do you mean by she never forgot her memories?“ I asked in disbelief. If she has been lying to me all this time, I won't spare her.
“Yes, she had never forgotten her memories. I think it was her plan with Alpha Benna.“ He said, looking at me in the eye, and then continued, “I think she is the one behind Sony's murder. I mean, no one knows that he had gone for a seminar; expect you, me, her, Miss Olivia, and Carlos.“
“You think she told Benna about Sony's whereabouts? But why would she? Sony has been the brother she never had, and I am so sure she would never do such a thing to him. And another thing, she doesn't like Benna since he killed her mother and uncle.“ I responded.
“And do you know why he killed them?“ He asked in a low voice, as if afraid that the walls would grow ears and hear us.
Cursity piqued, and I leaned in, shaking my head in denial and urging him to tell me.
“Her mother and uncle were half-sirens. And I don't need to tell you what sirens are.“ He said that, and I nodded.
Sirens are known for being assassins. They don't kill anyone but Alpha. They are always competing for leadership with us.
For the past few years, alpha's have succeeded in getting rid of the sirens. It's a good thing they were all half-sirens. Pure sirens were a few. Only two and six years after establishing their kingdom, they were set on fire by Alpha Benna, finally wiping their clan off.
He has been getting praise for that since then.
“Now you see the reason why Alphe Benna had to kill them?“ He asked, jarring me from my thoughts.
“And how do you know all this?“ I asked.
“Well,” he cleared his throat, “once Kiara had accused me of sneaking out of the pack at odd hours. Well, I had been trying to find out every piece of information about her. I have never trusted her from day one.“ He admitted.
“What you are trying to say is that her mother is the legendary Siren we have all grown up reading in books." I asked, finally recalling my childhood.
“Yes.“ He nodded.
“Why didn't Benna kill Kiara after killing her parents' then? Why does he want her? Was Kiara's mother really a siren, or was it Alpha Benna's way to shut out the case?“ I asked in curiosity.
“It's not a lie that Benna wants to take over you for being the only mighty alpha in the world. I think that's why he didn't kill her. He might be using her to get rid of you. Maybe he told her if she won't like you, she'll kill her just like she did to her mother and uncle.“ He explained.
“So he's forcing her.“ I hummed, finally understanding everything.
Kedeva's face wrinkled as if he were against what I had said. “I don't think he's forcing her. Kiara herself wants to do this. Benna promised her the Luna position if she succeeded in getting rid of you.“ He insisted.
“And why would he promise the Luna position to a siren? Isn't he afraid of getting killed?“ I asked, and he gulped, probably forming sentences in his head.
After a short while, he laughed, then asked, “What makes you think Alpha Benna will have her as the Luna? He'll probably kill her after she's done killing you.“
"Unfortunately, that day will never come." I said in a low, menacing voice, “It's either me or him, and trust me, it will be him to go down first.“
“And how are you going to do that?“ he asked me, curiosity etching across his face.
Weird!
He had never been interested in my beef with Benna.
“I am going to use all the cards Kiara has stored about him against him, and then I'll make him admit to killing Sony. Not just that, I would make him confess who revealed the whereabouts of my Sony to him, and then I'll throw a party as the whole world watches as he and his little birdie are getting crucified.“ I smirked weakly.
In my head, I could already see that happening. A scent wafted through my nostrils. I swept my gaze all over him and asked, "Why are you scared?“ He was trembling, and I could see beads of sweat forming on his forhead.
Fidgeting on his seat, he chuckled and then rumbled, “Whatever you are saying is making me grow goosebumps. I am sorry for them already, but trust me, Kiara is his little birdie.“
“Let's not jump to conclusions. Once I get done with this investigation, everything will come to light. Will you help me?“ I asked, my eyes still glued to his facial expressions.
"Uh, why not? Of course, of course. I'll definitely help you.“ He agreed, and we shook our hands to seal our agreement.
Why was he nervous, though?
Is the punishment I have planned for Alpha Benna and Little Birdie too intense? I thought inwardly while stairing at his trembling hand, tucked in mine for the handshake.
Dear reader, can you help Alpha Maseno get an answer for that?
Enjoy!
