Doctor Kedeva
I excused myself from Alpha's hospital room and rushed to the hospital gate, where I had packed my car. I had lied to Maseno that I was going back to the medical camp, but in reality, I wanted to reach the pack and talk to Kiara before leaving for Alpha Benna's pack.
The whole pack was silent when I arrived. It was as if no one was there. I quickly drove in, got out of the car, and quetily looked for the two guards Maseno had instructed to lock Kiara in the dungeon.
“Hello, have you seen Kepha and Erick anywhere?“ I asked the guard on duty. Kepha and Erick were the ones responsible for locking Kiara in the dungeon.
“They took Miss Kiara to the duengeon.“ He said this without raising his head to glance up at me.
“You don't need to give her respect anymore.“ I said it wickedly, a smirk playing on my face.
The guard finally tore his gaze from the file in his hands and looked up at me. ''What do you mean I shouldn't give her respect, Dr. Kedeva? Everyone deserves respect, regardless of their age or social status. You just can't go around assuming who is to be respected and who is not. I can't believe I am telling you this.'' He shook his head, as if he were feeling pity for me.
I shruggled, “I don't care about that. What I know is that she is now downgraded, and she doesn't deserve anyone's respect.“
“Whatever!“ The guard raised his hand, as if saying it's the end of the discussion. He concentrated on the file in his hand before glancing back and continuing. ''She might be downgraded now, but not forever. Further, I know that the truth always wins. It won't take long before everything comes to light, and she's proven right.“
“To hell with you.“ I almost spat on his face but swallowed the words as they tried to climb out of my voice box. I looked at him and, no, glared at him before asking for one last thing: “Can I have the keys to the dungeon, please? Alpha has a message for her.“
He eyed me suspiciously and then returned his gaze to the file. What was the big deal with it? Would he keep ignoring me for that stupid file?
"Hello." I slammed my palms on the table, then proceeded to knock on it when he still ignored my presence. He looked up at me, irritation on his face.
“What?“ He asked, no longer hiding his iritation and frustration.
“Can I have the keys to the dungeon, please?“ I responded, stressing out the word please in a sarcastic way. “I really don't understand why Alpha is giving you guys this much respect. I wish he could know that too much respect makes people stop disrespecting you.“
"Pardon, doctor Kedeva.“ He whacked the file on the other side of the table and focused his gaze on me. “What's that supposed to mean, huh?“
“What I mean is,” I said, stressing each word and sweeping my gaze all over his face, wanting what I was about to say to sink deep in his brain and settle there. "Alpha Maseno is giving you guys much respect. If only he would treat you the same way Alpha Benna does to his workers, then you guys would have never grown horns.“
“Wow,” he clapped sarcastically. ''I didn't expect someone like you to know much about Alpha Benna. You guys are buddies?“ He raised his brow at me and said, "Oh, wait,'' he paused, held his chin, rolling his eyes in the air, and then asked in a low, surprised voice, ''could what Miss Kiara is accusing you of the truth? Oh God, my lips are sealed.“ He gestured, zipping his lips.
“Stop spu…” Before I could finish my sentence, he slammed the door shut and left me outside. “You asshole, you haven't given me the dungeon keys yet.“ I knocked multiple times on the door.
A few minutes later, he peeped through the small space he had created by opening the threshold of the door and asked, "Since when did I start keeping the duengeon keys? Wait, do the guards at Alpha Benna keep them? I am sorry if it's that way, since in our pack we are not overworked like that. I am the gatekeeper; I don't take care of the dungeon. There are specifics for that.“
I took a deep breath to stop myself from breaking through the door and beat him into pulp. I made a mental note to later pay a visit to Alpha Maseno back in the hospital and try to talk him into firing this dude.
I won't let anyone who accuses me of being Alpha Benna's spy spend another day in this kingdom. I am so sure that it will start with them accusing me, then they will start suspecting, then stalking, and finally getting the evidence.
The guard keeping the keys to the dungeon gave them to me when I lied and said that it was Alpha Maseno who had asked for them. Poor souls, they had no idea that their Alpha was hospitalized.
I know why they haven't been told, though. It's because they don't want the news to spread like wildfire.
Faint noises of people having a conversation echoed when I neared the cave Kiara was locked inside. I rushed back to the guard who had handed over the keys to me and asked, “Is she having visitors?“
The guard nodded and then replied without sparing me a glance. ''Yes, doctor Kedeva, Miss Kiara has visitors.“
“Miss?“ I scoffed, almost spatting on the floor. Why were they all referring to her as Miss? I really don't think she deserves that title.
“Who are the visitors?“ I asked him.
“Ma'am Olivia and Mr. Carlos.“ He responded
I left him and walked to the cave. Before unlocking the huge metal gate that surrounded the cave, I pressed myself into a corner and eavesdropped on their conversation.
“Do you want me to talk to him?“ Carlos asked. The him he was referring to was obviously Alpha Maseno since he does anything he asks him to, and I can clearly see he is now taking advantage of that. I made another mental note to make Maseno not trust him anymore. He will be ripped from the head guard position, and he will be nothing but a normal guard.
“No need. I'll just find a way to prove to him that what I have been telling him is nothing but the truth.“ Kiara responded. What a hotheaded girl she was! She still wasn't going to give up on proving me to be a spy. I thought inwardly.
“It's okay, my child. Just know that whatever you do, we will be here to help you. And we want you to always know that we believe you.“ I heard Miss Olvia assuring her.
I turned around, forgetting about the plan of going in and making fun of her. I handed over the keys back to the guard and ran to my car. “It's high time I tell Alpha Benna where you are since you are hell-bent to expose me.“ I said to myself, hoping in the driver's seat and zooming off.
