Kiara
Beeping sounds woke me up. I struggled to sit and looked around. A sharp pain crossed my head, and I was forced to hold it, a painful moan escaping my lips.
As if she were outside waiting for any signs that I was awake, Miss Olivia dashed in, her eyes glittering with happiness. "Kiara, my child," she called as she engulfed me in a big, warm hug.
“Why am I here?“ I asked in a low voice.
She broke the hug, palmed my forehead, and looked at me. With concern pressing in her voice, she asked, ''You don't remember a thing?“ And then to herself, she murmured, ''Don't tell me those bastards hit you in the head as well.“
I chuckled and tapped her shoulder. ''I remember everything, Miss Olivia. I just wanted to lighten the mood," I said.
“You suck at doing that, then. You made me worry for nothing. Do you know, I was already planning revenge on my head?" she admitted, causing me to laugh.
“I just don't want to remember about my baby," I responded to her after a short time.
Miss Olvia looked at me, pushed the strands of hair falling on my face at the back of my head, and replied, ''I understand. I even know the pain one goes through after losing their unborn child, but don't worry. I am with you in this, okay?“
I nodded, glad that someone was there to be with me.
“Do you know who attacked you? Can you remember them?“ She asked, paused, and then said, ''I think the question should be, do you know the guys who attacked you?“
“Yeah.“ I mumbled out the reply.
“Who?“ She asked, rising from the bed, and then helped me sit.
“John. I don't know the other three men he was with since I didn't get to see their faces. They were masked.“ I told her.
“You know everyone is wondering how they got in? I mean, the whole place is fucking secured? Do they possess powers to teleport or something?“ She asked, her head tilted sideways.
“They came in with Dr. Kedeva.“ I responded, not knowing if she was going to believe me. I mean, I have been telling everyone that he is the bad guy, and to this extent, I think she also isn't going to believe me at all.
“Dr-Dr Kedeva?“ She asked, although she was not as shocked as I had expected her to be.
“Mmh,” I hummed in response. “He came and woke me up. He then apologized, saying that it wasn't his fault that I was locked in there. I told him that I know it's not his fault and that he should let me be, but he said, 'Not so soon, Kiara. I have some visitors with me.'
“Let me guess,” she stopped me, and then continued, "The visitors were John and the three masked guys? He then left them to beat you into pulp and ran to call Alpha Maseno, pretending to be a good guy helping a damsek in distress."
“At least I don't have to explain to one person what really happened. You believe me, Miss Olivia, right?“ I held her hands in mine and kissed her knuckles.
“Of course I do,” she responded, returning the gesture. “The thing is, Maseno will never believe you. What are you going to say when he asks who attacked you?“
“I don't know.“ I shruggled, and then, yawning, I said, ''I'll just tell him that I don't know who attacked me. I mean, what else is there to be said without me getting thrown into the dengeon once again?“
Silence echoed in the room, with Olivia and I holding hands together as if that were the last day we would spend time together. After I recalled what Benna had said to me over the phone, I decided to tell Miss Olvia in case something happened to me later on.
I tapped her shoulder to get her attention. When she turned her head to look at me, I asked, “Do you know why I was insisting that I shouldn't be brought to the hospital?"
She knitted her brows together and then asked, ''Why, my child?
“John made me talk to Benna before he escaped. Over the phone, he promised to come and get me while I'm in the hospital.“
Miss Olvia gasped and stood. ''Why are you telling me this now, Kiara? Do you know that the son of a bitch will do just that? Did you experience something off when no one was here with you?“ She asked in one breath.
“Not anymore. But when I was still unconscious, I could feel a presence around me. It was as if that person was standing next to me and was just staring at me all that time. When I woke up, no one was there.'' I explained.
“Do you think we should tell Alpha Maseno?“ She asked, fear etching on her face as she looked around to see if the windows were secured properly.
“Would he believe us? This is the pack's hospital; he'll just brush us off, saying we are just overthinking.“ I admitted, pressing my lips in annoyance.
I mean, does he have to take everything he's told so lightly?
'I am definitely sure he'll think all that you've been telling him all this time is true when you finally die.' said my conscience.
I swalowed painfully and yawned for the last time before falling into a deep sleep.
Minutes later, I was woken up with a light shake on my shoulder. I clicked to get my deep slumber cut short and turned to face the wall, completely burrying my head under the blanket.
“Kiara,” the person called softly, ''don't you want to see me?“
I took a deep breath, completely forgetting that Benna had said someone would come and kidnap me from the hospital.
The person chuckled and said, “Fine then. You'll see me once we reach our destination."
With the word destination, I threw the cover over me and fluttered my eyes open to see who was there. I was given no chance to see who was talking to me, though, because a sack was thrown over my head while I was forced to kneel.
As if that person knew that I wanted to scream for help, he whispered against my ear—I don't know how he found my ear given that my head was in a sack—"You don't have to scream, honey. If I were you, I'd use the small amount of oxygen I have in there carefully.“ He then laughed in a demonic manner before tying my hands behind my back and pushing me out of the room.
