Kiara
“The prodigal is back.“ A sarcastic voice echoed after I was unceremoniously pulled off the truck and thrown on the ground.
Without even thinking, I knew to whom it belonged.
“Well, she won't be talking back to me today, right?“ The voice came again, this time closer to me. The sack over my head was yanked off, and I sighed in relief.
I nearly thought I would go blind and deaf in there. I gulped in deep breaths hungily and blinked my eyes rapidly to quickly adjust to the bright natural light.
I caught sight of Dr. Kedeva standing beside John, and then Alpha Benna was squatting in front of me. “I suddenly feel like rewarding Alpha Maseno for taking good care of you.“ He said this while titling my head sideways and pulling my chubby cheeks slightly.
I pressed my lips together, praying inwardly to Mother Goddess to help me not talk. Yes, I had decided to take a vow of silence. I wasn't going to talk to him or anyone else.
My eyes caught sight of a figure on the balcony, and I sighed in relief. If Beta Kelvin were here, I wouldn't be staying here any longer since he would help me out.
I made a mental note to myself that I should one day ask him why he helps me like that. I mean, doesn't he get tired? Who would be picking you up multiple times whenever you stumble?
A normal being will just do it once or twice before starting to laugh at you alongside others.
“Kedeva, don't forget to say thanks to Alpha Maseno for me. He really hasn't been satisfying my Yezus sexually, but in every single way as well. I can clearly see that.“ Benna said sarcastically, probably wanting to get me to talk back at him.
Dr. Kedeva chuckled and then responded, ''It should be you who'll be thanking him, not me. At the moment, I'll take your leave."
“Not so soon, Kedeva, he stopped him, and then standing, he said, “don't you think we need to celebrate and you leaving like this will be kind of rude? I mean, you finally brought my lost treasure back,” he said, turning to grip my chin and forcing me to look up at him.
“As long as I would want to stay...'' he trailed, and then, as if he had recalled something, he said, "Nevermind, I can't say no to a celebration.“
“That's my boy!“ Benna patted him on the back, a wide smile spreading across his face.
Without asking whether I wanted it or not, they dragged me with them to the balcony, and a glass of wine was poured on me as well. I had just had a miscarriage, for god's sake!
And when it came to the celebration, what was I celebrating? As long as I wanted to ask that asshole, I held myself back. I didn't want him to think that he'd won.
“Are you feeling any pain, Yezus?“ Benna turned to ask me when he saw me clutching my tummy.
I remained silent, playing with the glass of wine clutched in my palms as if my life depended on it. “Why aren't you speaking today?“ He then expressed concern, which I don't know whether was fake or real.
“She'll be okay; don't worry. I'll just keep her on drip after this.“ Dr. Kedeva responded, already drunk.
“Right, how can I worry when I have a doctor with me?“ Benna asked, a deep laughter escaping his lips, and then turning to me, he said, ''You know you came at the right time, Yezus. Casino consession will be in a month, and I really want you to be there beside me. I know you think that I am hurting you, but someday in the future, you'll see that all that I am doing is for your own good.“
My own good? I wanted to spill out that question. How was that for my own good? It was for his own good, for goodness sake! I was just there to show the world that he was an angel.
Even though he got rid of my mother and uncle, who were werewolf enemies, he still felt sympathy toward me and took me in with the fact that someday in the future, my siren insintics may kick in and I'll end up killing him.
By the way, does he know that sirens never die unless they don't want to reincarnate?
What makes me sad thinking about that fact is that my mother and uncle never wanted to reicarnate because if they really wanted, then they would have come back to me long ago.
What I know is that they are now somewhere among the dead, looking down on my sufferings, and they don't want to come to me.
“Maybe they want you to be strong; that's why.“ My wolf said at the back of my head.
“You can't make me feel good. You fucking can't. Not today, Raika.“ I said to my wolf, and at the same moment, a thought crossed my head.
I looked beside me, and I was glad to see that Benna, Kedeva, John, and the rest of the guards were heavy on alcohol. I knew even if I decided to run, they wouldn't catch up with me given their drunken states.
I felt a deep gaze on me, and I snapped my head toward the balcony. Beta Kelvin was there, with a maid beside him who looked like she was refilling his wine.
He nodded at me, as if giving me the go-ahead for something.
Was he in my head? I asked myself while squinting my eyes at him to see if it were my own things I was looking for. Benna followed my gaze and then mumbled, ''You can go say hi to him if you want. I am sure he has missed you.“
A chance I wanted.
I pushed the chair I was sitting on backwards, pushing away the pain I was feeling in my lower abdomen.
“Go ahead with what you are thinking, princess. I'll be right behind you.“ A familiar voice echoed in my head. It was beta Kelvins.
“Come on. Go, Yezus, go!“ Alpha Benna nudged me, and then, looking at Kelvin, he told him, “Take care of her.“
Idiot! I accused him inwardly. Spairing Beta Kelvin one last glance, I grolwed, letting my wolf out for the first time in my life. I shook myself, watching as the soft grayish furs danced around. It felt good having Raika out.
“You remember that I once promised you that I'd let you run freely in the woods? It's time to save me, Raika.“ I nudged her while being alert at the back of her head.
Releasing another deep growl that made Benna and his minions sprint out of the seats, she gave Benna one deep claw on his face, pounced on Kedeva, and clawed him hard on his hand.
I could hear her mind-linking them. “That is for always picking on my human.“ That was what she was telling them when she had each one of them under her huge body.
It was a good thing the wine they had taken had such a deep effect on them that they couldn't shift. I am sure Beta Kelvin added some wolf banes to the wine.
“Beta Kelvin, what are you looking for? After her, now!" Benna demanded.
“As you say, Alpha,” he smirked.
My wolf watched as Beta Kelvin shifted to his wolf form, who shockingly looked exactly like mine, and dashed after me.
“Here we go, princess. Didn't I say I'd be right behind you?" His wolf whispered at mine.
Together, they took a sprint toward the woods, ignoring Alpha Benna's curse and cries, asking why they couldn't shift.
Hello, why do you think Beta Kelvin helps Kiara every single time? Does he have a hidden agenda that we don't know about? Let me know in the comment section.
