Chapter 108: Fight!
I looked around to ensure they listened to me. “I don’t want to make unnecessary conflict, especially as we have a peace treaty.” Shaking my head, I sighed. “I didn’t blame Lisa either, as she was the victim of this matter. However, if her father didn’t drug her, none of this would happen.”
Then Elder Fred stepped forward and stood beside his son. He sneered at me and laughed. “Still trying to find a scapegoat, huh? It’s all started with you! If you didn’t agree to be my daughter’s mate, it wouldn’t happen. How dare you humiliate us twice?!”
“I have explained everything. But you kept pushing your agenda.” Then I straightened my back and glanced at him. “The worst thing is you used your daughter as a tool for your game. You didn’t think of her as your daughter or pack member.” I shook my head. “I pitied her to have a father like you, but the most regrettable thing is she has two Alphas who did the same to her, regardless they are her family.”
“Enough of this bullshit!” Elder Fred said. “Fight now! Warriors, attack him! Attack these people!”
No one moved, as the command must come from Bill as the highest leader. Then Elder Fred elbowed Bill. Finally, Bill shouted, “Attack!”
Some werewolves ran toward us, but my warriors were ready. My warriors blocked the werewolves, and in no time my warriors could conquer those werewolves.
I stepped forward. “Let’s not involve the innocent ones in our affair. I challenged you to a one-on-one fight. If I win, your pack will be mine. If I lose, you can do anything you want to me.”
Unexpectedly, Elder Fred suddenly attacked me from the side. A few of my warriors shouted, “Look out, Alpha! On your side!”
But I didn’t move and let Elder Fred approach me. When he was within my reach, I grabbed my silver knife and stabbed his stomach. He didn’t expect me to attack him. With mouth open, he touched his wounded stomach and fell to the ground.
Bill ran to his father’s side. “Father! Father!”
Elder Fred grabbed Bill’s hand. “T-take care of our pack. Avenge my death ….” Then his hand fell to his side.
“Father!” Bill shouted, hugging his father’s lifeless body.
All pack members of the Hurricane Dawn Pack bowed their heads to honor their former Alpha’s death. I expected to see Lisa to attack me, but I couldn’t find her everywhere. I gulped and let out a long sigh. Nate’s path to happiness would be steeper than ever, but I couldn’t do anything else. If I didn’t defend myself, I would be the one who lay on the ground, not Elder Fred.
Then Bill jumped and faced me with a rage in his eyes. “You killed my father! I won’t spare your life!”
Bill shape-shifted into a black wolf and jumped toward me. I also shape-shifted into a wolf and dodged his attack. We tumbled to each other on the ground, trying to bite one another. He could scratch my chest with his paw, but I bit his neck, and soon Bill lay on the ground.
I stood beside him with my arm stretched high, ready to strike him. If I did it, he wouldn’t survive. But I thought of Nate. Having killed Lisa’s father already, I didn’t want to add another burden for him if I killed Bill too. Regardless of what they did to Lisa, they were her family, and blood was thicker than water.
“Kill me! Otherwise, I will hunt you later!” Bill screamed with a hoarse voice. But then he coughed blood.
I let out a sigh. “Arrest him!” I said to my warriors.
Soon, some warriors caught Bill. He shape-shifted back into human form, and a warrior gave him his clothes. I also shape-shifted into a human again and wore my clothes. “Bring him to our dungeon. Later, he will be executed because of his crimes.”
“Yes, Alpha!” Then six warriors tied Bill’s hands and feet and brought him out of the Wild Wolves Pack.
Then I looked around. All she-wolves and a few werewolves already kneeled on the ground. Some werewolves bent their heads, waiting for the next instructions for them.
A senior werewolf strolled as he walked with a cane and bent his head when he was before me. “Alpha Cameron, please receive my respect. I’m Ralph Adolphus, an Elder of Wild Wolves Pack. Since you have defeated our Alpha and former Alpha, by law you have any right to be our new Alpha.”
“Thank you, Elder Ralph. I will expect you and other Elders to support my foster brother, Nathanael Thorn. He will be your new Alpha, as I have told you all. Considering he was Beta Lisa’s mate and the father of her pup, I expect them to have their marking ceremony and his ascension soon. I believe having the new Alpha reign will restore the pack’s atmosphere quickly.”
Elder Ralph bowed his head. “Yes, I believe the celebration will be good for us all.”
I nodded, relieved to know at least the pack had a reasonable Elder. Hopefully, Elder Ralph would help Nate and Lisa later. “I don’t see Beta Lisa. Can someone fetch her, please? I will ask Nate to come here soon.”
Two she-wolves rose and bowed to me. “We will go to her house, Alpha Cameron.” Then they rushed to leave the field.
While waiting, I contacted Nate. ‘Hey, Brother, why don’t you come to your new pack? I’m done here. It’s time for you to settle in your new home. I believe Lisa and your pup will be happy to be with you. Your new family and pack are waiting for you.’
Nate laughed a little. ‘Thanks, Cam. I owe you a lot.’ He sighed and clucked his tongue. ‘It’s a pity I couldn’t be there to fight them. It doesn’t feel right to receive the pack just like this from you.’
‘Nate, you helped me a lot by saving Anna and our pups. I can’t thank you enough for that. When I couldn’t be there for my mate and pups, you helped me. Besides, it’s all according to what I planned. The pack, Lisa, and you are ready to be yours.’ Then I grinned. ‘You said you owed me a lot, but I also owed you a lot. So, I guess we are even now.’
‘Thanks, Cam. I’ll go there now. I can’t wait to hold Lisa in my arms soon.’ He let out a heavy sigh. ‘I miss her so much.’
‘I know. I bet she will be delighted to see you too. Hurry! Come here!’
