Chapter 109: The Gifts
After Nate arrived at the Wild Wolves Pack, I introduced him to Elder Ralph and left Nate to manage the pack, as I couldn’t wait to hug and kiss Anna. I smiled as I wanted to see our pups too. The trip to go back to my pack seemed longer than I expected.
When we passed a few shops, I asked the driver to stop. I headed to the flower shop first. Looking around there, I picked white roses for Anna. Waiting for the florist to wrap them in a pretty bouquet, I walked to a baby shop next to the flower shop. At first I wanted to buy dolls for my twins, but they were newborn. So, it would be useless. Finally, I picked up a set of pajamas, socks, shirts, and pants. I asked the shopkeeper to wrap them in a box. When I returned to the flower shop, the bouquet was ready.
My driver helped me to bring the gift box to the car. Then I placed the bouquet on the box. Hopefully, Anna would like it. I was clueless why I didn’t choose the red roses. Probably it was because of my dreams. I dreamed of someone in the middle of white flowers and asked me to find her. After discovering it was Anna in my dream, I stopped dreaming about it. But when I bought the flowers, I instinctively chose the white roses.
Finally, we arrived at our pack. The driver opened the door for me. I held the box and the bouquet and walked to the front door. Mimi opened the door and grinned when she saw me and what I held.
“Whoa! Mistress will love the present and the flower.”
I smiled and nodded. Since I didn’t hear Anna’s voice, I asked Mimi, “Where is your mistress?”
“She rests in your room, Alpha.”
“And my twins?” I tilted my head a little.
“They also sleep in the next room.” Then Mimi touched her forehead. “Ah, I forgot! Congratulations, Alpha! Your pups are adorable! The boy looks like you! While the girl is like a mini mistress.”
I grinned to hear what Mimi said. I couldn’t wait to see my pups. But I walked to my bedroom first. Anna was still asleep. She looked like an angel, so pretty and calm. I placed the bouquet on the table next to the bed. Then I kissed her forehead.
Suddenly, Anna stirred in her sleep and sighed. Then she opened her eyes. When she looked at me, Anna gasped and reached out her hands in my direction. I hugged her and kissed her cheek.
“Thank you, my love. I heard you delivered me two adorable pups.”
Her eyes were wet with tears, but her lips were curved with a wide smile. “Yes, they are lovely. I’m glad you came home.” She pulled me and kissed my neck. “I miss you!”
I kissed her lips and rubbed her cheek. “I miss you more, darling.”
Then Anna glanced at the bouquet. “Is it for me?”
I nodded. “Yes, I hope you like it. Do you prefer red roses to white ones?”
Anna shrugged. “I like all colors—red, white, pink, yellow, orange.” Then she looked me in the eye tenderly. “The most important thing is not the color, but the one who gives it,” she kissed my lips again, “you.”
I lay next to her and kissed her hair. We didn’t speak for a few minutes, as I was too overwhelmed with happiness. Anna rested her head on my chest, sighing softly then lifting her head to stare at me.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing. I just feel … so full … so happy.” She let out a sigh again. “Tomorrow is our marking ceremony too. It’s so perfect. Our pups can be there too with us.”
“Yes. I’m sorry I couldn’t be with you when you gave birth to our pups. What did it feel like?”
Anna shook her head and smiled. “It’s okay. I know you went to fight Bill and his pack. At first, there was only pain and more pain, but when I delivered our first pup, I felt so happy to see him. But then, I felt a new pain in my stomach. Apparently, there was another pup in my womb.” She giggled. “I was amazed to see her delivered. Then I breastfed them. Oh, I can’t describe my feelings. It was a perfect happiness.”
“Thank you, love. I hope I can be there with you when you deliver our next pups.” I kissed her forehead.
“Next pups?” Anna widened her eyes. “I just gave birth to the twins, and you talked about the next pups?”
I shrugged. “Well, it’s for the future. But if you don’t want more pups, I’m okay with that.”
She giggled again. “I only teased you. Yes, I want you to be with me when I will deliver our next pups, but maybe another pup is enough. I may be busy with the twins for a few years.”
“Right. I don’t mind waiting until you are ready for another pup.” I played with her hair. “Was the pain too much?”
Anna touched my face and looked into my eyes. “No. I can’t lie to say it’s nothing. I almost wanted to give up. But all those pains are worth it after seeing our pups’ faces. Ah, let’s see them now. They may still sleep.” Then she gasped. “The names! What names should we give to our pups?”
“How about Gavin Horace Black and Belle Veronica Black? Horace from my father’s name and Veronica from my mother’s name.”
She smiled and nodded. “It will be perfect. Gavin and Belle.”
“Unless you want to add your parents’ names?” I asked, though I wasn’t sure if Anna knew her parents’ names. Considering the real Anna Warren was an orphan with no information about her parents.
Anna let out a sigh and shook her head. “I don’t know my parents. Also, when I lived as Victoria, it was a different century. So, Gavin Horace Black and Belle Veronica Black are perfect. Wait until you announce their names tomorrow, I think your father will be pleased. It will be your gift for him.”
