Chapter 64: Suspicion

Bill said nothing for a while, but then he confirmed my guess. ‘Yes, Anna Warren. I want her badly.’

Spite raged in my mind. First Cameron and now my brother! How could the woman bewitch two men at the same time? She must be a witch! But then, the more I thought of it, the more I was convinced that it was a perfect plan. Sending Anna to my pack would make my brother happy. He could do anything with her. It might be a solution for us all. I wouldn’t need to worry about her to seduce Cameron again, and my brother could have her for good.

I grinned as it was a satisfying idea to banish Anna forever. Well, it wasn’t a suitable term. Because being my brother’s mistress, Anna would have all luxury and pride in my pack. Many she-wolves wanted my brother, but he only used them all as his bed mates. Now I knew why he didn’t take any she-wolf as his mate. His heart wanted Anna.

Pah! I clenched my fist. I must hurry to send her away. The faster I sent her from here, the faster I could have Cameron for myself. That was when Mimi entered the room. She smiled and bowed at me.

“Good morning, Luna. Melanie called me. She said you needed me here.”

Then I nodded and gestured my hand to ask her closer. “Please check outside. Make sure no one can hear us,” I whispered.

Mimi nodded, and she rushed to the door. After looking around for a few seconds, she closed the door and walked back to me. “All is safe, Luna. So, what do you have in mind?” she whispered too.

“I need you to come with me to the Hurricane Dawn Pack. We won’t be there for long. After you finish sending my dowry, you can go back here.”

Mimi bowed her head. “I understand, Luna. Do you need me to pack some of your clothes?”

I shook my head. “No need. I still have plenty of clothes there. Besides, I may stay only for a few hours.” I shrugged. “Probably a day or two at the most.”

“Yes, Luna.”

“Now, go to prepare my dowry. We will leave in half an hour.”

“Yes, Luna. Thank you for your trust. You won’t regret it.” But when Mimi walked to the door, she turned her body to face me. Her forehead wrinkled, and she was about to say something but finally she said nothing.

I raised my eyebrows. “What is it?”

She grasped her hands and bit her lower lip. Afterward, she glanced at the door. Her sweat poured from her neck. “Nothing, Luna.”

“Mimi, I have chosen you as one of my trustworthy people here. I hope you won’t make me regret my decision.”

Mimi gasped and threw herself on the floor. She bent her head on the floor. “Luna, you can count on me. It’s just that ….”

“Well?”

“It’s about Alpha Cameron.”

“Raise your head!” I commanded her.

Mimi lifted her head and still bit her lower lip. I could see her nervousness. She didn’t dare to meet my eyes and only stared at the floor.

“Mimi, what do you want to say? Say it! You waste my time!” My voice raised a little.

“Luna, I’m a member of the Wild Wolves Pack. I swear my loyalty to my Alpha. Therefore, I’m hesitant to tell you this.” She bowed her head lower. “I don’t want to betray my Alpha.”

“Cameron is my mate, my husband. I’m the closest person to him now. So you won’t betray him by serving me well. Speak!”

Mimi gulped then after a while, she finally made up her mind. “An Omega told me a weird thing when I was about to go here.”

“Hmm?”

“She said she saw our Beta leave our Alpha’s house at dawn.” Mimi kept staring at the floor. “I know Beta Nate and Alpha Cameron are close. They are best friends and now Beta Nate is also our Alpha’s foster brother. However, it’s the first time I heard Beta Nate spending the night in our Alpha’s house.”

I frowned to hear that. It was our wedding night. Why would Nate stay at Cameron’s house? It made little sense. But then, suddenly, I remembered something. When I used a blindfold last night, Cameron’s scent was different. He was gentle and caring. I enjoyed mating with him, but in the morning, Cameron refused to mate with me again. He used my pregnancy as the reason not to mate with me. However, we mated so many times last night. Then I gasped.

“What is it, Luna?” Mimi asked.

“Nothing.” Then I smiled. “You can go now. I’ll let Cameron know that I’ll go to my former pack with you.”

Mimi nodded. She rose and walked to the door. “Luna, I promise I will work well. I won’t disappoint you.”

“I’m sure of that. Now go.”

After Mimi left, I searched for Cameron. He was in his working room. When he saw me, he frowned. “Lisa, what’s wrong?”

I only smiled and shrugged. “Nothing. I only miss you. Maybe our pup wants their daddy near.” Then I approached him and reached out to hold his hand. I stroked his palm and brought his hand to my lips. After kissing it, I rubbed his palm to my cheek. “Why don’t you come back to our room? I want you.”

“I still have many things to do, Lisa. But you can go first and rest. Remember your condition. You need a lot of rest.”

I shook my head and flung myself into his embrace. Cameron held me and stroked my shoulder.

“Be careful. You must pay attention to the pup.”

“You will be a good father.” I took his hand and placed it on my belly.

He touched my stomach and smiled at me. “As you will be a good mother for the pup.” Then, after a while, Cameron said, “I need to finish some work. Please rest first.”

“Sure!” Then I walked to the door. Before leaving, I said, “Cameron, I will go back to my pack today. Mimi will accompany me. I won’t stay long there. Maybe I’ll be there for a few hours, but I may also stay for a day or two. Is that okay?”
