Chapter 85: The Meeting Preparation

The next morning, I woke up early. Anna was still asleep. I let her rest more because it was my battle to face the Elders, not hers.

Nate contacted me through the mind link. ‘Cam, what’s your plan with the Elders?’

‘I will have a meeting and invite them. No need to wait for them to throw a meeting first. I’ll face them.’

‘I’ll come with you. No matter what, I’ll defend you.’ He let out a heavy sigh. ‘I’m sorry Lisa tried to harm Anna, but she was under drug influence. I hope you can forgive her.’

‘I know, Nate. Don’t worry. I won’t blame her fully for what happened, but I also don’t want to blame our father for this.’ I rubbed my chin, too weary to think, even though it was still early in the morning.

‘So, what will you do?’ Nate asked. ‘Will you blame the peace treaty?’

I laughed a little. ‘Nah, I can’t do that. If I did it, I indirectly blamed our father.’

‘But if you won’t blame Lisa or our father, what will you say to our Elders?’ Then Nate gasped. ‘I know it! You will shift the blame to Bill!’

‘It can work. Besides, he’s their Alpha. But I’ll also let the Elders know about how Elder Fred drugged Lisa and distorted her memory. It’s the culprit of everything. If he didn’t do it, I wouldn’t have a marking ceremony with Lisa and none of these would happen.’

‘It makes sense. Okay, I’ll prepare myself first. Where will you have the meeting?’

‘Great Assembly room.’

Nate blew his breath. ‘I’ll ask our people to prepare the room and invite our Elders to come.’

‘Thanks, Nate.’

‘No need to thank me. Lisa is with me. I’ll be her shield. She needs to be there because she’s the victim too in this matter.’

I nodded, as it was fair for Lisa to attend the meeting. It was regarding her life too. ‘Okay. Anna will be there too. So, I hope we can clear everything today.’

‘Sure!’

After finishing the conversation with Nate, suddenly Melanie contacted me. ‘Alpha Cameron, I want to support you when the Elders summon you to give them the reason you infiltrated the Hurricane Dawn Pack.’

‘Thanks, Melanie. I appreciate it.’

‘You are welcome. Uh, Alpha … ah, never mind.’

‘What is it?’ I asked.

‘What do you think if your brother has a relationship with an Omega? Uh, I mean, not your brother, but a Delta.’

I laughed aloud until Anna was awake. “Sorry, love. I’m talking with Melanie,” I said to Anna.

Anna nodded and walked to the bathroom. I continued talking to Melanie through my mind. ‘It’s obvious you mean Jack and you. I have no problem with both of you becoming mates. Has he asked you to be his mate?’

Melanie took a deep breath. ‘Uh, yes, last night.’

‘And?’

‘I don’t know, Alpha. I mean … I don’t know him well. Besides, he can choose a better person. Why me?’ Melanie sounded nervous and lost.

‘In love, rank and status won’t matter anymore. The rank gap between Jack and you is huge, but what about Anna and me?’

‘It’s true, but you were a couple in the past life. You had history together. While Jack and I are completely new. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to be with him, even after our wolves confirmed us as mates.’

I gasped to hear that. ‘Wait a minute! Your wolves have confirmed the mate bond between you two?’

‘Yes, Alpha. I was surprised to know it ….’

‘Then what are you waiting for?’

‘I don’t know your brother well, Alpha. Besides, he was my bully.’ She let out a sigh. ‘What if he only planned this to bully me more?’

I shook my head. ‘My brother is serious with you. He promised me not to tease you again.’ After thinking for a few seconds, I said, ‘He told me he liked you, but he didn’t know how to approach you. That’s why he teased you. But he admitted his friends exaggerated it, and it turned into bullying. Please forgive his foolishness.’

Melanie blew her breath. ‘I’ll think about it. Sorry to take your time, Alpha. Let’s prepare for the meeting.’

‘No worries. Go to the Great Assembly room later. I’ll be there in an hour.’

Closing the mind link, I grinned to see Anna approach me. She was still nude. Kissing her lips, I inhaled and smiled. Being next to her calmed my mind.

“Good morning, Alpha Cameron. You look handsome as usual,” she teased me.

“Good morning, love. You look tasty to be eaten.” I kissed her neck, and she giggled.

“If only we didn’t have any meeting to attend, I would let you devour me all day long.” She grinned and caressed my shoulder. “But as we must focus ourselves on the meeting, let’s prepare for it first.”

I pulled her to sit on my lap. “Let me kiss you properly first.”

Then I kissed and nibbled her lips. She moaned and circled her hands around my neck. I kissed her neck too and then nibbled her ear. She gasped and shifted on my lap.

“Though I want you badly, we don’t have time for this.” She kissed me on my cheek, then put her arm on my shoulder, distancing our bodies. “So, what have you prepared for the meeting?”

“I’ll report to the Elders about what happened yesterday. Nate and Melanie will support me. Lisa will attend the meeting too.”

Anna’s eyes were round to hear Lisa’s name. “What if she says something that contradicts what you say?”

“We will let our Elders decide. For sure, they can’t ignore what you will say either. Since Nate and Melanie will support us, it will be four against one.”

Anna shook her head. “I pity her. She is your Luna, but she will face the Elders for something against her conscious mind. We can’t place the blame on her.”

I kissed her lips. “You are quite merciful. If the situation were switched, I didn’t think Lisa would be so forgiving like you.”
