Chapter 12

I am holding my sister's hand in the ambulance, crying because I could not protect her. While I lay my head on her stomach, I beg the moon goddess to heal her. I sit up straight again. A paramedic is sitting on the other side of my sister in the back of the ambulance, checking her vitals while I am with her. I am staring out of the back window. There are several SUVs following us.

We are taking a very long time to get to the pack hospital. This is very worrying to me as I do not want to lose my little sister to death. When I was a child, I would complain when my mother made me change her poopie diaper, but now I would enjoy changing a poopie diaper compared to losing her.

The doors of the ambulance open, and the ambulance comes to a halt. Two of the EMTs are carrying the gurney containing my sister out of the ambulance and rushing her into an emergency room.

As the EMT's explain about the whips tipped with wolfbane, the doctor and nurses surround my sister, putting intravenous lines in her and talking to one another. They tell me to wait in the waiting room while they rush her into a room for examination and testing.

The nurse escorts me to the waiting area, where it seems my whole biological family is waiting as well as the prince. I sigh; I can now see how overwhelmed my sister must have felt growing up.

I am exhausted as I walk over to them, I know they want to know about Clair and what had happened since I was born.

The woman who I am guessing is my biological mother asks me if she can hug me, and I nod yes. She starts crying and hugs me tight. She pulls back and cups my face asking how my sister is. I shrug my shoulder, explaining she hasn’t gained consciousness. They kick me out of the examining room

She puts her hand on my back rubbing it. “I am so sorry son.”

My biological father walks up to me and he in turn asks me if he can hug me, and I nod yes. This man must lift a thousand pounds worth of weights daily, as a bear couldn’t hug as tightly as he does. I pat his back as thanks for the hug.

I look at Cameron and the prince, I can tell the prince is impatient and would like to talk to me. It seems also that Cameron is keeping the prince at bay. I decide to get this over with and ask them to sit at some chairs around the table so they can ask me whatever questions they need to. They follow me to the table.

Xavier –

After everyone sits, I need to know about Clair and where she took off to. There are rogues everywhere in those woods, she can get hurt. Also, who is this guy we are going to talk to. He looks like Clair, just a male version. I am anxious to find her my wolf keeps complaining it is my fault I lost her. I am always direct to the point when I am upset. “Tell where Clair went?” I ask the Clair look alike.

I notice that Cameron glares daggers at me. I don’t care, I want my mate back.

Colt –

“Clair doesn’t want to be found yet, she changed into her wolf form and took off. Where she went she didn’t tell me. She just stated she needed some time to find out who she was without her brothers and her mate.” I then heard her mate growl. I just ignored it.

Cameron –

“How is it you ended up with Clair? There are hundreds of questions I want to ask. How did you find out about Clair? Where have you been all this time?

Colt –

My biological father and mother have joined the table while Cameron is talking.

Question number one: "I didn't know I had a twin. In fact, the Rogue wanted me to kidnap Cameron. My only reason for considering such an idea is because they were torturing my six-year-old sister. After rogues had overrun my pack, my sister and I escaped through tunnels, and rogues were waiting outside on the outside. I don’t know if the people who raised me made it out alive or not.

The rogues promised they would torture my sister to death if I did not comply. The rogues pulled up in front of the castle and let me out to find Cameron, when a girl ran down the stairs that looked like a female version of me.

She saw me and a light went on for her too, she realized who I was. She jumped into the vehicle not knowing about the rogues.” The Rogues decided that kidnapping her would have to do, they would use her to blackmail Alpha Cameron.”

2. “as far as where I have been all this time, I have been with Alpha Josh and Luna May. They called me their miracle baby, because I was the only child they could conceive, at least until the bore my sister. They were raising me to take over as Alpha, but once my sister was born six years ago, they explained I would be Alpha until she was old enough to take over.

It was at that point they explained that I wasn’t biologically theirs. They explained that since my sister is their blood, she will be the rightful Alpha of the pack. I was just a young teen then, and I started to act up, I was rebellious and hurt. I wondered who my real parents were and why they didn’t want me.

When an army of rogues came, which is odd they were organized like a pack with an Alpha and everything, they burned just about everything and killed many. My parents hurried us through a secret door into the tunnels that is when my parents came clean about my past. The person I knew as my mother explained, her and my father could not have children. My mother had been your friend and used to visit.

She became envious because you were popping out kids left and right. When my sister and I was born, she had a crazy idea and thought that you wouldn’t miss just one child as you had so many. They needed an Alpha heir, so they paid the nurse a million dollars to kidnap me and state I had been cremated. I know you are probably really upset with them, but I ask you not to kill them if they are still alive. They were great parents to me.”

Cameron –

“you know that what they did, they need to be held accountable for? My mother and father searched everywhere for you. They were told that you were cremated, but that didn’t make sense. My mother cried every night at not having you near her. She still cries over your loss. If it were anyone else and you had to make judgement what would your judgement be?”

Colt –

“I am not saying they should not have repercussions for their actions. I just don’t want them killed for my little sisters sake.”

“I would also like to comment on Clair. It is like I have known Clair all my life. She just needs some time to herself. I guess you guys have never really given her breathing room. I think she just needs time to be herself and not the little sister of six Alphas, well now seven. Therefore, she is running from her mate, she wants to have some freedom, because with Alphas they are all pretty controlling is what I got from her conversation. Don’t worry she will return.”

Cameron –

“You have not been raised with us, and do not understand how she is always getting herself into trouble. Besides there are rogues out there and they can hurt her.”

Colt –

“You are right I wasn’t raised with you all. But what I can give is I am a person that can see from the outside. Your sister is an amazing fighter, her and I battled six rogues together. She took two rogues out at one time; believe me she can handle herself. People often get into trouble when they are upset, and she is upset. She must have time to figure out who she is. Now I can’t tell you not to look for her, as you said I wasn’t raised with you guys. I am just giving you an opinion from someone looking in from the outside.”

Cameron –

As I sigh, I realize I was a complete jerk. Although he is my younger brother, I had made him feel like an outsider by my behavior. “Colt, listen. I can be a jerk sometimes. I am happy you have returned, and you are not an outsider. We have always protected Clair, and it is difficult for us to transition our thoughts from baby sister to her growing up into a woman.

I will give her a month. If she does not contact me in a month, I will think someone has hurt her or kidnapped her as leverage against me. Oh, she is also the mate of the future king.”

Colt –

“Thank you for the apology, I need to ask the nurse how my sister is doing”

I get up from my seat and walk over to the nurse, I can see the prince is not happy.
