Chapter 55 GETTING MARRIED

Sobrina had no idea her new church was a cult who used what the preacher she had attended his conference - the same one she had downloaded and listened to his messages back in Lagunde - taught as a license to sin.

She didn't know that she had handed Pastor Davies her information, which would be weaponized and stored away for when ever he would need it.

She taught she was in a proper church and so did Pastor Melvin at first.

Gracedome was located in the middle of the campus. It's members dressed in fancy student fashion. There was no restrictions to how they appeared in church. From hot mini skirts, to really tight trousers. Sobrina needed to adjust to the norm and quickly too.

The church did a lot of things differently from how she had been raised by Pastor Melvin, by the fellowship, and by WUCC. They had no restrictions as to how they conducted themselves. They believed there was nothing they could do to make God frown at them. They believed God will never punish anyone for sins, and that the only sin God would punish was the sin of rejecting the gospel.

To them, karma didn't exist either. They were heaven bound no matter how they lived. The female brethren hugged and kissed the male brethren in public, among many other immodest actions.

Sobrina quickly got in style, but decided to keep her sanity.

Pastor Melvin treated her special in front of everyone, but behind her, he was doing worse things with the freedom he had found. He flirted as he chose and wasn't mindful of his actions when he was alone with females. He thought Gracedome was WUCC or the fellowship, where he could do anything with ladies and still retain his relationship with Sobrina.

Sobrina started paying attention to the man from Overseas without his knowledge. She decided to settle down in marriage. She was tired of the back and forth situations that plagued her.

But it wasn't an easy decision to make, she wept regularly at night. But Pastor Melvin had began one of his mischievous activities in the relationship. He had blocked Sobrina on all social media platforms, explaining that it was what was best for them.

She'd had enough, and wasn't certain what next would be the issue. She was already not too happy with him about the secrets she had discovered.

Therefore, Sobrina invited Pastor Melvin to KFC - the very first place they had met seven years ago.

It was a month before the man abroad would return to marry her as they had agreed. She had kept the secret until now, to reward Pastor Melvin for betraying her during her service year.

When she arrived at KFC, Pastor Melvin was on a different table with the girl he had attached himself to. He left the lady, and came over to where she was seated.

"Why did you bring her here?", Sobrina questioned in anger.

"Don't you believe in coincidences, Sobrina?",

"Was it a coincidence?",

"No", he responded. Sobrina was hurt.

"Anyways, since we're here already, I came to inform you that I'm getting married, and this will be the last time you will hear me say it", she informed him.

Pastor Melvin felt like he had been hit, he was shocked out of all the charade.

"Soby, I'm not dating anyone," Sobrina stood up to leave in disgust, but he held her down, "sit down Sobrina, I'm not dating anyone".

"So what? Dating you has never been fulfilling. I've been more alone than ever, it has always been from one heartache to another. Have you forgotten that we're probably not meant for each other?"

"Does he know about your health?", he questioned.

"Yes, matter of fact, he's like me",

"Does he know about how dramatic you can be?", Sobrina kept her resolve. He was deeply hurting.

"That's all I want to let you know, thank you for all you've done for me", Sobrina said.

The girl came over to their table to complain about something Sobrina didn't hear. The discussion was over and they departed.

Sobrina traveled home a month later and got engaged. She returned to the University with the glittering diamond on her middle finger. She was happy. The man was rich, and lavished money on her.

Before the end of two months, Sobrina was transformed into an influential woman right before Pastor Melvin's very eyes.

She kept her distance from Pastor Melvin. He began to behave like he had gone uncontrollably insane as usual. She pretended she wasn't noticing. He was suffering in silence.

Deep down, Sobrina had silently waited for Pastor Melvin to stop her from getting married. She had hoped he would come forward and beg her not to.

But he never did and two months after her engagement, she was finally traditionally married.
