I have a matter to attend!

After the doctor checked my blood pressure, he went to see the status of my daughter.
When I declared the relationship of being the father to the kids, Evelyn's hard eyes weren't easy to ignore. They had questions, numerous questions in those dark browns. She looked like she was going to explode and burn me alive. Although, she did utter a single word, asking, "Why?"
It wasn't just a word; it was the whole train of questions. I knew she wouldn't back down until I answered the question, so to my stupidity, I said, "It wouldn't take much time now considering the donor is her father."
I very well knew it was a stupid reason, but I had to give one.
Descending down the corridor, I made my way toward the room that the doctor had asked me to come to.
I halted in front of OT-07, the room allotted to my daughter, my heart was racing at another level, and I did not want to break down here.
"I know," someone said beside me which broke the train of my thoughts. Tearing my eyes away from the door at the certain boy, my side and my face hardened.
"What do you know?"
"I know you're connected to Rose's past." His answer made me widen my eyes.
Before I could reason anything, "Your foolish reasons don't blind me, Mr. Knight. She's continuously having headaches after you entered into our life. You know everything about her, heck even your blood group matches with her kids."
I just kept looking at him, he was clever than I gave him credit for. I looked away and waited for the doctor to call me in.
"She's the reason you agreed to buy my father's shares, didn't you? I should have known why my father was happy seeing you as my client, that never happened before." He asked, if he knew everything then I didn't see a reason to lie.
"Yes, she's the reason, Mr. Wellesley" I answered and looked at him with confidence. "She's the reason, I'm here and I'll take her and my kids with me." As soon as those words left my mouth his face hardened.
"You can't take them away from me." He said through clenched teeth.
"I'd like to see you try." I bit back.
He was cut off by the arrival of the nurse, asking me to come inside.
After an hour, I went back to where everyone was waiting for Isaac to come. Evelyn's head was resting against Marcus' shoulder as she kept her eyes closed. Mason sat on her either side, where Aiden had his secretary Linda leaning on him.
Breathing out, I walked towards them. As soon as Mason saw me, he stood and walked towards my side, asking in a low voice, "Why did you say that? You know she isn't dumb."
Running my fingers through my hair, "So, what would I have done, Mason? Until now I didn't even know I had a kid, kids actually. I happened to know about them when their life was in danger." I said through my clenched teeth.
He placed his hand on my shoulder, rubbing it to calm me, "Let's talk about this later. " To which I nodded.
The ticking was heard through the hallway until finally the small squeak of wheels was added in. Everyone looked up as a small boy was being pushed down the hall in a white bed, "Isaac!"
"Isaac!" Aiden, Evelyn, and Linda shouted and stood up. The nurses made us step back so they got my son into the room.
I stood rooted at my place when he gave us all a smile, making everyone's worries wash away. He was in a hospital gown with bandages wrapped around his little forearms.
Evelyn was the first to hug him, Aiden close at his heels. He hugged her arm while she sat at the edge of the bed. "I'm hurt, Mommy." He said as his eyes got watery.
Evelyn pulled him closer, running her hand down Isaac's arm, trying to calm him down. She leaned over and kissed the top of Isaac's head. "It's okay, baby. Mommy is here." She said softly while glancing at his bandaged arm, "How's your hand, baby?"
He ignored the question, "Where's Bella? Is she Okay?"
She sat beside Isaac and looked at him, "It's my fault, Mommy." I know it broke her heart hearing the crack in his voice.
"Why?" She asked, brushing her hand over his head, he looked at her with watery eyes.
"We run behind Linda, Bella was in front, on the stairs I fell, and Bella fell with me." He explained with quivering lips as Evelyn grabbed his face and wiped his tears with the pad of her thumbs.
"Baby, it's not your fault." She said, "You were playing, but now you need to be careful, right?" She asked to which he nodded. She smiled at him and kissed his forehead. "You are her brother and it's your instinct to protect and look for her but that doesn't mean you can't make mistakes. We always learn from our mistakes."
Before Isaac could say anything, another nurse came in, pushing my daughter's bed inside. The white bed halted just beside my son's bed.
"Mommy!" Isabella squealed, as Evelyn walked towards her side and kissed her forehead.
"You gave Mommy a heart attack, sweetie." She mumbled and brushed her thumb over her flushed cheek.
"Sorry." She said with an apologetic look.
"It's okay baby, just be careful." Said Evelyn to which my daughter nodded.
Isabella's eyes turned towards Isaac, "Ice-Ice." Isabella called him and gently touched his cheek.
There she was my little girl. At that moment I was a happy and complete man but that couldn't be said for now as I stood there watching my daughter and son hugging Evelyn with wide grins and teary eyes.
I always had an image of children in my dream as a younger version of Evelyn but now it was replaced by two kids with green eyes, a reflection of mine. The way my heart was beating faster than normal was a clear sign that they were indeed my children.
Moving across the room beside Evelyn while my eyes stayed on the two children who were now looking at me with curious eyes. My hands were itching to pull them closer to my chest and hug them. Tell them that I was their father. Apologize for the lost five years and would spend every second of my life with them.
Just a look from these kids and I was imagining things I have never imagined doing after I matured. These kids… my kids made me want to be a kid again but at the same time be a father.
They made me realize that the night after the party was not a dream, it was real. Everything was real and Evelyn was right… my blood ran in their veins but the thing that made me happier than any happiest person alive right now was they were created by Evelyn and me.
Though Isaac was my spitting image, Isabella, my Bella, was the younger version of Evelyn in my eyes.
A soft touch snapped me out of my daze, my green eyes connected with the small girl, my girl, whose fragile banded hand was on my cheek, that's when I realized I was crying.
Yes, Xavier Blake Knight was crying and honestly, I had no idea if they were happy or sad tears. A ton of emotions were stirring inside me, a human volcano of emotions.
"I no hurt, don't cry," she shook her strawberry blonde. The next thing she did was more tears rolling out of my eyes.
My daughter wrapped her arms around my neck, and I realized I was leaning down on her, it might hurt her, so I kept a safe distance.
It felt like my heart burst out in happiness and I wasted no time in wrapping myself around her, carefully. I was partially hugging her; I was hugging my daughter for the first time.
A clearing of the throat pulled me back to reality harshly. How could you forget that Evelyn has no idea of why I was reacting this way, or maybe by now she knows?
With the heaviest heart, I pulled away from my daughter and smiled at her, "I'm not crying honey, something went in my eyes, how are you feeling now?" I asked, wiping my eyes.
"It's Isabella! And my Bella is fine." A baby male voice said, I turned my eyes to the boy who held a protective stance for her and looked at me with a pointed look. He looked just like I used to when I was a kid. His protectiveness towards his sister had me smiling proudly.
"Isabella! Beautiful name." I smiled at my daughter who grinned back at me, "And what might be your name, big boy?" I asked my son, "Isaac." He answered, flatly. "That's a tough name, I must say." I smiled but he didn't return it. Instead, he turned towards his sister.
Well, someone will definitely take my place when he grows up.
Caressing her face, "I'm sorry, Bella. I hurt you."
"No, you not." She said and kissed his cheek.
Evelyn kissed both of their heads, "Okay. Kids, maintain distance. Don't hurt each other." Said Evelyn, sternly.
She turned towards Aiden, "Take care of them, I have a matter to attend to." She said sternly and Aiden received the message well as he nodded and sat beside Isabella while Linda sat beside Isaac.
Evelyn turned around as her hard gaze fell on me, she walked towards me and said, "Shall we?"
