Chapter 5 Sophie Still Needs Me
Bane looked silent. "... My job is not to cook."
"There is nothing wrong with young people doing more." Helen, the manager, came with such a meaningful sentence.
Bane had no choice but to follow suit.
She could not understand why there could be such picky eaters, even to compare themselves with Sophie!
It was a skill she would never have been able to muster if it had not been for Sophie, who, however, had been so overcome by her cooking that she was now going to use it to conquer a man.
But she could not lose this job. She had to accept my fate.
Back home, Bane worked hard on the recipe, just as the cell phone began ringing.
Hearing the voice from the other end of the phone, she suddenly panicked, hurriedly stood up, way: "I will be there right away!"
Sophie's condition worsened!
By the time she got to the hospital, Sophie had already begun the operation, and she was in a panic.
"Doctor, Sophie... What happened to Sophie?"
"She's just had a sudden shock. She's still in recovery mode, but hopefully not very well. Sign this first."
In front of that letter of critical illness, almost let her faint, she desperately bit the lip, let oneself sober some, then just sign.
In this short year, she had signed a critical illness notice many times, and every time she signed it, she fell apart.
"Doctor, please help Sophie! Please help Sophie!"
"We'll do what we can to save her, but it's going to cost a lot of money, and you should be prepared for all the medical bills."
Bane was momentarily stunned by the huge medical bill.
"Doctor, I will pay for the operation for sure! Please help Sophie!"
She was going to get the money anyway! In any way!
But it was not easy. Everyone she knew asked her every time, but no one would lend her any money.
Because of her imprisonment, all her friends shunned her, and this time, Bane was more desperate than ever.
Suddenly, she remembered those small ads posted near the hospital, selling blood!
Bane hurried out to look for the little ads, made an appointment as soon as he got on the phone, and went to the nearest small clinic.
"Do you really want to sell a thousand milliliters? You'll be too sick for it!"
"Yes! Please hurry up, I need the money now! '
The needle sank quickly into Bane's pulse, but she felt no pain. All she could think was that Sophie would survive.
She blamed herself for not keeping Sophie healthy, for letting her suffer at such a young age, so she was determined to keep her alive.
Bane's blood was pumping out little by little, and soon her face was turning pale and her head was getting dizzy.
As soon as she got the money, Bane ran to the hospital without a break.
Sophie couldn't wait!
Sophie needed her!
But before Bane could get to the hospital, she fell over and passed out.
After all these years in prison, her body had already worn out, and now she had been drained of so much blood that she could not stand it.
Inside the hospital, the doctor came out with a second critical note.
When I didn't see Bane, I had no choice but to dial the number on the business card that was inside Bane's coat.
The hotel.
As Bert entered the room, he saw a woman standing there.
The woman was wearing a strapless dress, with heavy makeup on her face and a whiff of swagger all over her body.
Bert's face sank. "Who told you to come here?"
Betsy swallowed her fear and went to Bert step by step.
The strong smell of the perfume made Bert's scalp tingle, and he stepped back with disgust on his face.
Betsy froze for a moment, and did not dare to go any further. "That is because I miss you," she said in an ingratiating manner.
Bert was no good to her. If it hadn't been for Norton Ron, he wouldn't have named her fiancee, let alone kept her wealthy.
But beyond that, it's gone.
Bert asked coldly, "Just say what you want."
Betsy, a little afraid of him, said, "There is nothing wrong with me, but I know you are here, and I have come to see you."
"Well, now that you've seen it, go."
Betsy's face changed, but she dared not show it, though she was angry. She knew Bert's character well enough to say, cautiously, "Bert, may I go and see Norton?"
If you could not trap the man, you could trap the child.
"No, Norton is fine now."
Bert left no margin in what he said.
Six years ago, he said he would be responsible, so he brought her back.
But did not think, again to see this woman, did not have a little bit of the original feeling.
He wondered for the umpteenth time whether he had found the wrong person.
However, his people were really by the number of the house to find people, how could them make mistakes?
After all, he thought things were too good.
Intersection only once, really could not be naive to think that was their destiny.
In addition, the contact of that period of time later, let him know how much money and power of Betsy, so that he did not want to look at Betsy again.
If it hadn't been for Norton, Bert would have kicked her out of the house.
If he found out this woman used Norton, he'll take back everything he gave her.
"Bert, you'll let me meet Norton..."
Norton was her ace in the hole. How could she not take advantage of him?
Bert's face darkened. "Betsy Reed, go now!" he said.
Betsy's face changed. It was true that she had been Bert's fiancee for six years, but she could not stay with him, and yet she would cling to Ron's tree for dear life.
"Bert, what about... Let's give Norton a sister. Norton won't have to be alone."
On top of that, Norton was not her child at all, and she was naturally distraught.
Then Betsy tried to get closer to Bert, but before she could, she was stopped by Bert's cold eyes.
'No!’
There was no room for negotiation.
Betsy swore to herself that for years she had felt like a widow, and that if it had not been for Bert's position she would have gone.
"You leave at once!
Betsy said no more. She did not want to offend him and get into trouble.
Bert looked back, and then, suddenly, the cell phone rang.
Impatiently, he pressed on: "Who is it?"
"Hello, this is City Hospital. Do you know Sophie Reed? She now..."
Sophie?
Meet that little girl in the hospital, his heart inexplicable pain once, as if by the person heavy punch.
After hanging up the phone, he hurried to the city hospital and then found the operating room.
