Chapter 71 Resignation
Sophie was too sensible to try to hide it all the time.
Bane felt that she was derelict in her duty. She threw herself into her work, focusing on the hope of Sophie's life, but ignoring Sophie's inner needs.
Now Burt is giving her the choice of having children or working.
Bert did not urge her to choose, but repeated, "Sophie asked me for a job for you, and you can't come to Ron's Group, so think about it this time, and I'll wait for your answer."
And with that Bert went straight away.
Bane froze there, his heart heavy.
The next day, Bane went to work as usual at Lakerne, and as soon as she arrived, she sensed that Ward was avoiding her.
It wasn't obvious at first, until she went to the office with a paper in her arms to find Ward, who was clearly in there, but who asked the secretary at the door to say she wasn't there.
Bane understood in an instant.
In the company, the boss does not like the person, this person's outcome can be known without thinking.
A self-deprecating smile flashed around Bane's lips. She believed in the word "business and business". She thought Ward could do it.
But that was just what she thought.
Without another word, Bane returned to his desk, carefully organized all the papers, and finally sent his resignation letter to Ward's mailbox.
Ward quickly reads Bane's resignation letter, knocks over his teacup, and rushes out recklessly to find Bane, eventually finding her in the pantry.
"Why did you quit?"
Bane turned around at the sound and his eyes fell on Ward's red eyes.
She paused for a moment, then said, "You saw it pretty quickly. I was wondering if you were going to find out too late."
Ward didn't want to tell her that he couldn't focus on work because of Bane, so the email from Bane was quickly seen.
"Bane, why are you quitting?"
"I have some family stuff to take care of," he said, without giving the reason directly.
Ward reflexively retorted: "How can that be? How could this be the reason for your sudden resignation? And who are your families worth everything you have?"
Bane said nothing. He really knew her well.
"Tell me, why on earth did you quit?"
Bane put the teacup down and said faintly, "I'm doing it for Sophie. I want to be there for her myself."
"You're only going to have to work three days a week. If you don't have time to come in, let me know. You're going to have time off."
Ward's words were heard by Maria, who was following her, and she almost gasped with anger.
"Ward! Are you kidding me? !"
Maria came up to her angrily. 'How could you do that? What will the other employees think?"
Maria's words had no effect on Ward, whose eyes were still on Bane, his face imploring.
Because Bain has a boyfriend this matter, he is in insomnia all night, all he sees Bain, will subconsciously avoid, he actually does not want to hide Bain, he just afraid of seeing Bain, think of Bain has a boyfriend this matter.
What he did not expect, however, was a letter of resignation from Bane, and when the letter arrived, his mind panicked, and the fear of losing seized him.
Seeing Ward like this, Bane was sure she couldn't stay at Lakern anymore, and she was surprised that Ward would make such a ridiculous suggestion.
If other employees were to hear about it, it would chill Lakern's employees and ruin Bain's reputation.
The female subordinate went to great lengths to seduce the boss into doing something for her.
"Before I leave, I will let the new employee familiarize myself with my previous work. Director Davis, please send the job listing again."
Maria's face brightened significantly when she heard Bane's words. "Okay," she said, "I'll get someone new right away."
After a moment's silence, Ward spoke again. "Bane, is Sophie really the reason for quitting?"
Bane stopped, bewildered. Wouldn't Sophie be the only person who could have made her quit?
Ward swallowed the words on Bane's lips as he looked confused. Now that he was done, he didn't ask for trouble.
"I know, this time does not count as your resignation, is I dismiss you, wages according to the contract to pay you three times, you do not refuse me... I beg you, don't refuse."
Bane lowered his head and said, "Yes." And left the water cooler straight away.
Maria suppressed her excitement and pretended to be reluctant. "Don't be upset anymore, Ward," she said. "Since it's Bane's decision, respect her."
Ward, now disconcerted, smiled wryly, closed his eyes, and said, "Leave me alone, Maria."
"I..."
"You go to work first."
Maria hesitated for a moment, but said, "All right, you can adjust your mood." Say that finish, is full of unwilling to leave.
Ward stood there, eyes wandering.
It seems that what he wants most, God always does not give him. In those days, he was forced to leave, very distressed. Now, he has come back, he feels that he can let Bain rely on.
But it didn't occur to me that Bane might not have to rely on him.
She has something to lean on, but he is not her lean on.
Ward remembers the moments he had with Bane, the time when Bane was all about him, but in the end, he left Bane just when Bane needed him most.
After handing in her resignation letter, Bane felt more at ease than she had ever felt before. She finally didn't have to face Ward's guilt about her, but her job at Lakern was one of her favorite.
And Bert's right.
She had to choose between Sophie and her job.
Sophie, of course, was the most important in her mind, and she was willing to give it all up.
She can't take care of Sophie and still do a job that doesn't allow any mistakes. She can't do that, so she has to choose one of the two. It's a respect not only for Sophie but also for the client.
She felt her heart beating, and she wasn't doing very well at this time, because she was under a high load, so she would occasionally get dizzy, and if she still did that, it would be a matter of time before she died.
